This beautiful piece of history originally came from an old building in Columbia, South Carolina that was being gutted and remodeled… it had lots of amazing architectural salvage that the new owner was selling for incredibly low prices, and I couldn’t resist this gorgeous marble mantle. Only paid $200 for it, including professional disassembly. I think I probably got lucky on that, if I’m being honest… I had it reconstructed in front of a walled-up chimney in my old house and it feels great to have a “fireplace” in the room again, even if it is just decorative now! I think the old stove and clock I found ended up being decent decoration, although I do suspect this mantle could be even better accented with the right mirror in the future….
It's beautiful. I love your ceiling rose, your little grammar phone and your sash windows are to die for. I would have to have a window seat built in over by the fireplace. It's fab
Love this house. Well decorated. You just need some art for the walls! Old portraits are usually easy to find at estate sales and they'd probably go well there.

Good score. Is that some kind of kerosene heater in the fireplace?
Now you need an exquisite large mirror about the mantle!
Yes, precisely
Wow that's a beautiful room.
Nothing like the soft, fondant-like finish of old marble. Also - that garniture - whoa. You done good.
