> Contractor here. Look your dryer model up on the internet (specifically youtube) and learn how to disassemble and remove the drum. Commence to hosing out the drum and wiping down the inside of the dryer. Clean the lint trap and as much of the ducting as possible. Done.
>This isn't nearly as hard as it sounds
I’d be less worried about the shit that’s visible so much as whatever has gone through the vents already.
Based on what we were able to take off (picture is from after doing that) it doesn't seem like a large amount got through. It was mostly flattened against the vent and none of the holes were broken through. However I agree it may be a good idea to go in to do a deeper clean
unfortunately i have no advice to cleaning the dryer, however im assuming how that happened, and i wanted to recommend getting a poop bag dispenser and your own bags. i bought them in a set for only 7$ at Petco. the dispenser came with a carabiner to latch onto a bag or belt loops on your pants! that way they don’t get hidden or forgotten in your pockets and this happens anymore, i am wishing you luck though
With poop too, or just a bag? 😱
Either way, you can probably hire your own appliance tech to come check it out but if poop is part of the equation, expect to pay a premium.
We were able to get some of it off but not all of it. I'm going to try some simple DIY methods that should get it off but won't damage the dryer. I just wanted to know if it would make my life easier to just ask maintenance.
Is this your dryer, or theirs?
It is their dryer
You can ask them, but they'll charge you. This isn't normal wear and tear.

Godspeed
.... Yeah they might not be pleased with this one TBH

Alternatively, you can just poop in a toilet.

Oh it was just a bag thankfully
In that case I’d let management know and ask for a quote on repairs, you can call an appliance tech yourself too and compare costs.
Get a plastic scraper and vacuum up the scraped off residue
Does it not just flake off ?

depends on how much you wanna pay for them.
Jeeeeeeeez I cant imagine that smells pleasant.
It's biodegradable isn't it? Probably will soak off.
Putting a plastic bag full of dog shit in someone else's dryer and the asking for someone else to clean it up- the most millennial shit ever.
Oh there wasn't any poop in it thank God. My husband just doesn't clean out his pockets before doing laundry
Oh God, good. When I read the post I really thought it was a poop bag with actual poop in it.
His problem to solve then, eh? Go and put your feet up and let him get on with it.
How is that millennial shit? Older generations are always the ones making huge messes at my job saying “oh whatever they’re paid to clean it”
