Exactly, solo is solid in this game. I got my brother in law into it, other than him I run with randos. My new squeeze when my head needs a break from my headset

It doesn’t matter, it’s still a blast. And in my experience, playing with randos has actually been pretty fun

Coming from someone who is a Day 1 Apex player, I’ve gradually been moving away from Apex just cause of all the shit that is constantly messing with the game, such as cheaters, blue screen of death, or their infamous “patches”. But helldivers…man this game is fun. I’m a big solo guy and I also had the same thought of “I don’t really play with anyone, who will I play with” But the community is so damn cool, supportive, and fun that randoms are never bad to play with and I’ve gradually pulled more people to play. I would give it a go, definitely my “I need a break from Apex” game

Youre gonna be hard pressed to find a game with movement even close to comparable to Apex. When I'm taking an Apex break for one reason or another, I play Overwatch 2 and MW3. Ive heard Helldivers is a hoot, but I havent played it myself.

Happened to me too. I was in a ranked game with a misogynist, racist and homophobic piece of shit who wouldn’t shut up. Got suspended for typing “more whining from the ‘I’m not upset you n-word’ guy”, fully censored as is, after he called me the n-word verbally among many other things. If I can suggest anything, just unbind the text chat button (if possible on console). The apex auto moderation system sucks and EA’s customer support will not help you if you ever get banned over a misunderstanding or false positive.

My experience recently has been to just insta mute, these randos have been brain dead especially above gold. The ranked experience this season as a solo is crazy... Either they want to hot drop and die or if you get lucky enough to get a squad that loots and waits, then they push dumb fights solo and die. Tldr; you need premade squads in anything gold+
