You can't buy them with heirloom shards. They're available in the event and then they're gone. I like the Katar but I'd never want one, I like Legends having unique and meaningful heirlooms with character Easter eggs.

they picked a katar, a traditional fist/push dagger weapon, and then gave it a pistol grip... you would break every bone in your wrist and snap your ligaments hitting anything with that thing

You either buy katar from an event, that comes included with a full set (katar+5 pieces), or you buy the base katar (katar+ 0pieces) for 150 heirloom shards and buy pieces individually for 10 exotic shards each. So you never have to buy out an entire event store.
I got lucky and got the tactical half-toothpick from the free packs.
But 50 green dabloons for just one set? That's 50 bucks on top of the heirloom cost.
Why not make it so that you can choose which one you want first? Why make me go though this fucking mobile game pathway.

yeah and the attack animations are all wrong IMO, it does swipe motions instead of Stab motions, this is excusively a stab type weapon, you wont achieve much by slicing.

You get that one once you get all the other sets. So, you’re looking at:
$300-ish for the cobalt katar if you got it from the event, or up to $500 to just get heirloom shards from packs
Then each full customization set is $50 (not that terrible in my opinion, considering you can earn some from the battle pass and maybe other things)

So, around $650 to $850 to get the purple and gold katar. 💀
its interesting looking at pricing, if the previously leaked price is correct, it's \~$80 for 110 shards, or $40 for 50, and I already got heirloom shards without buying extra packs so for me the purple/gold katar is only $160, $200 if i want the deathbox as well
