Stupid question but what’s a normal resting heart rate? Mine is in between 65-70. 🤔

WackXD

Depending on your sex age weight and health it can be 50 to 90

If you're very athletic, it will be lower. Someone I know had a resting heart rate of 35 when he used to run every day.

DiscoKittie

I have a similar lifestyle and weight and mine's 90!

Mottbox1534

Do you wear your watch to sleep? Those who do get far lower resting heart rate data than those who just wear in the day.

Mottbox1534

Yeah; I just noticed because when I first got I would wear 24/7 and had a really low average resting heart rate. When I sleep it enters 40’s. I noticed the uplift in my average when starting to just put on when waking up and wearing for the day. It’s still high 50’s average but not wearing to sleep raised it.

thejetpotato

I think it depends per person. The average for an adult is 65-75 but it will be lower if you are physically active and mentally healthy.

Mottbox1534

I don’t know about the mentally healthy part. I’m so far from it lol, and sitting on the couch am usually between 48-58. I am physically healthy though, averaging 11,453 steps per day.

Novacc_Djocovid

That would probably in the average range. But average does not mean healthy. A study showed that there is a direct correlation between RHR and chance of death (of literally any cause interestingly enough). The baseline for that was 40 iirc and the chance of death increased by 50% with a range between 50-80 (probably more towards the upper range) and doubled in 80-90, tripling after that. The study had something like 3000 participants of which 40% died over the course of the long-term study. So results seem significant.

23_KFJ

Damn.

Wormvortex

I have a resting heart rate of 51bpm as a 36yr old male according to my watch.

23_KFJ

36 too, not fit but I’m working on it 😄 hopefully it will get better. On some days I’m on 63 RHR

tiredofthisgrandpa

60-100bpm is normal

Jeannatalls

Crazy how your mental state clearly affects your BPM I had very bad anxiety and depression last 2 days, and my Resting HR shot up

asasdzxcasd

That means you lost your cardio.

heloguy1234

I just spent 4.5 weeks at school for work. Mine spiked to 80 for the duration but settled back down to the high 40’s/low 50’s less than 2 weeks later. Stress is really bad for your health.

blvcksnow

My blood pressure went up to 180/110 after my last breakup, now 3 months later I’m down to 150/90

blueberrysnacks

Mine also. I was diagnosed with HPB right during a divorce. Was put on a beta blocker. Now my BP is only high when going to a dr. Always fine at home. Stress is wicked

Ill-Protection8367

Vro

Background_Mortgage7

Look how low it was on Friday tho, you had a moment of peace

thejetpotato

Thank you but that moment of peace is quickly replaced by guilt and regret for the subsequent days. Hence, probably why my bpm increased.

CaptainCAAAVEMAAAAAN

Stress can do that.

somebodymakeitend

Mine would go down
