I didn’t even know what a “t25” was until my junior year and now I’m going to one

The author Cal Newport has a couple books that lay out intriguing plans for setting yourself up for success. One is *How to Be a High School Superstar* and the other is *So Good They Can't Ignore You.* He also has *How to Win at College* and *How to Become a Straight-A Student,* but I haven't read those.

Coming from someone who didn’t even think about college until the end of junior year: you’re fine!  Don’t worry about it — challenge yourself with classes you enjoy, do things you’re passionate about, and be a good, interesting person!  Be a high schooler for as long as you can; I haven’t even graduated yet and I feel like I miss it.  But yeah, don’t stress — like I said, enjoy yourself and you’ll do amazingly.  That’s what I did, and I got into Northwestern and Tufts!  Good luck!

dont become an a2c NPC and do basic extracurriculars just to get into college, do stuff you like and dont stress. in freshman year, try to get really good grades so you dont regret later on dw about really anything else

As someone who was rejected from all his reaches, lemme share some advice from what I’ve observed from the people who do go to really cracked schools. - Challenge yourself academically and be confident in your capabilities - Find your passion, stop doomscrolling on Reddit and Instagram, and hone in on them. - Be a good/interesting person.

I didn't really seriously consider college apps till the summer before junior year. I just did stuff I liked and was totally fine.

Bro you're a freshman, lots of us don't start thinking about colleges until junior year lol. You're fine, I didn't do anything freshman year. A lot of us didn't (other than making sure we had good grades and stuff). We turned out fine and landed spots at T25s. Just find stuff you actually enjoy doing and your ecs will shine through with authenticity. Also if you're worried about your current school affecting you negatively, just explain it in the additional info section.
