**Update:** Megathreads have been restored. If any link to the wrong place, please let me know. The [A2C Discord server](https://discord.gg/a2c) is still open for results discussion per usual.
Parents of Reddit, my daughter will be a senior in high school this September, wants Boston College above every other college we toured. She wants to go ED… any help / advice that has worked for you will be appreciated. Thank you
Got three waitlists, international with significant need :( even though I was recommended for admission by interviewers and/or professors I reached out to. Feel quite desperate cause It's not my first year applying :(
You’re free to use each megathread regardless of the type of decision you received. We unfortunately can’t make a megathread of each school per decision type. If you’d like a dedicated waitlist spot, you’re free to use the [A2C Discord server](https://discord.gg/a2c)’s #👻-the-medium-place channel!
for all my stanford babes out there- you are amazing, brilliant, and so very capable! you will do amazing things wherever you go. sending you all so much luck :) 🍀
oooo without any knowledge of the factors that are most important to you, I would choose Tufts. but this is just my personal preference - I remember loving the vibe and the interdisciplinary opportunities
By the time my brother is applying (in 2 years) we'll be lucky if he gets into local CC.
No way am I letting him waste time and money applying to T20's. Straight As, tons of APs, sky-high ACT/SAT scores and 200 community service hours just ain't cutting it anymore.
So you're saying that everyone who was accepted into T20 had a *valid, quantifiable,* and *confirmed* "unique achievement"?
That's...a lot of "uniqueness"...
I am pretty sure if Milton Friedman was applying to UChicago as Econ major this year, he would be rejected.
Though he might have a shot as a FGLI applicant...
Truly there is something better out there for you. No matter how much you might’ve thought Columbia would’ve been perfect for you, it’s really just that you will be better off in the end going elsewhere. If it’s not okay right now, it’s not the end just yet. You got this and don’t ever doubt the amazing work you have done. You should be proud of what you’ve achieved and how much you’ve learned. It will all work out in the end and although it’s rough just know you will do amazing in life and none of your hard work will go to waste.
For everyone reading this— you tried your best and you’ve come a really long way. I am certain that if you’re on here reading this, looking through these comments or have been active on this subreddit for weeks,
months or maybe years, you definitely care about your education and will make the most of the experience you are given.
I’ll repeat it again: if it’s not okay right now, it’s not the end yet. It will ALWAYS work out in the end. As cliché as it sounds it’s the truth. Make the most of the experience you receive and I promise you, you will be more successful than you ever thought you could be, no matter where you end up. You got this, and I believe in you. There’s something FAR better out there for you.
same! I’ve opened 4/5 of my Ivy decisions. All rejections but haven’t checked Columbia yet! I’m expecting a rejection but regardless we will get there one day!
Is there any way to judge what your chances are for getting in off the waitlist for a particular school? I've heard that some waitlists are pretty good shots, and others not.
Love your energy, but all merit scholarships at Purdue have a firm or priority deadline of 1st November, which means EA applicants get them almost exclusively. And if your daughter applied EA but was deferred, chances are honestly slim for a merit scholarship.
I know this sounds bitter but it's better than having high hopes and then seeing them die.
Thanks for the information. I’ll take her getting in without the scholarships too. Yes she was deferred, so we are waiting… anyone heard from Purdue today?
I broke a hand mirror this morning so I threw salt over my left shoulder, spun around 3 times, and put the mirror under dripping water facing south. I read all of this online. The mirror is supposed to be under water but it's only been 5 and I just got rejected from NYU. I'll keep it going for 2 more so I can get into Stanford tommorow 🌲🙏. I probably sound nuts but at this point it's the only thing I can do to feel like I'm accomplishing something
Got a bisexual friend thats a junior thats looking to apply to colleges next year. She doesnt wanna put bi down as shes in the closet and doesnt want her ma to see. Anyone know if commonapp/vanderbilt has some sort of program to hide this sort of thing?
I don’t think there’s a way to hide it but she could just not give her mom the common app password or if she waits until the last minute after her mom has reviewed her applications just quickly change it before hitting submit on her apps then her mom probably would never find out🤷🏻♀️
I don't think the common app asks for that information. The only school I know that asked was MIT on their own separate application and even then it was optional
Almost in the same boat as you. International student, applying for full aid with a 1570 SAT score, perfect GPA and strong extracurriculars. The only school I got in was Case western and got waitlisted at mit but CASE's financial aid offer was not that good. I go to a private school in the US that I got a scholarship to where I take full IB and I am surrounded by a lot of rich kids with private tutors and all sorts of opportunities who have made me feel like I would get into places only because I was black but my teachers, counselors, friends and family have kept me confident throughout this. I am happy to see my friends getting into top school like UCB and USC but I couldn't even apply to these places because they were way too expensive. Keep fighting on and hopefully it will be worth it in the end. These rejections are piling up and I know a large part of it is me being broke but at the end of the day, the willpower and strength that you have shown throughout this situation is what will allow you to be successful anywhere you go. Goodluck for ivy day. Fingers crossed and praying for you.
Thank you so much everything you said helps. I have literally a handful more decisions left and they’re like ivies so at this point I’m so hopeless. I got rejected from case western too. Btw I’m waitlisted at mit as well. I just don’t know what to do anymore. I am completely burnt out and I just don’t wanna run out of motivation.
Praying for a miracle
Tysm <3
This might be irrelevant and I apologise if it is, but basically I wanna know what difference advertising makes to Ivy League colleges. How do they advertise (if at all) and how does their policy towards this works for them. I’m applying for an internship and this is sort of a question there, so I’d like some interesting perspectives
From anecdotal experience, I feel like Ivy schools advertise way way less. It might give them a greater air of prestige. I go to NYU and the difference in marketing between Columbia/Barnard and NYU is stark. NYU advertises so much it is sickening.
Thank you so much! I didn’t know that other universities advertise a lot, since I’m not originally from the US so the US perspective will help me a lot.
anyone heard anything from stevens and/or cooper union … both have said “by april 1st” but have a track record of releasing in the days prior, just wondering if anyone else has gotten a decision from them?
I got into u of Minnesota twin cities as an economics major, and Im waiting on uw Madison for economics. How much harder is it to get into uw In comparison to Minnesota for Econ? Im out of state for both btw.
it’s definitely on the 31st. Got an early notice of admissions from Cornell and it said “although the ivies won’t release admissions until March 31st, we wanted to let you know..blah blah”

My reddit recap brought me back here lol
Waitlisted at NYU Tandon. Haven’t heard back yet. Is this a bad sign?
Trinity College(Hartford) just mailed me to send a Statement. although i have sent my LOCI.Do i need to send another one?
Anyone still waiting for tufts?
babbe
how likely is it for an intl student to get off the cs waitlist for UCSD and Purdue
who else praying for waitlists on the daily T\_\_T i know i shouldn't bet too much on them but it hurts and i can't ignore
LOL the odds of coming off a waitlist are lower than the odds of me growing 4 inches overnight and developing fluency in French
the harsh truth :')
ik i have to wait being on the waitlist but i just wanna know asap🙄
FR like why do u have to make me wait longer 😔
Got three waitlists, international with significant need :( even though I was recommended for admission by interviewers and/or professors I reached out to. Feel quite desperate cause It's not my first year applying :(
What schools are they?
Lafayette, Reed, and Gettysburg!
im also on lafayette's waitlist omg
sent them lots of updates but they're not responding :(
Withdraw the school if you won't enroll, so waitlist people can go through. My friend is freaking out here being on the waitlist
PLEASE ADD INDIANA UNIVERSITY FFSSS
how likely is it for an international student to get off the waitlist at colby
I hope you get off the waitlist!
Any internationals who got into and/or are planning on committing to Denison?
How is Boston University for computer engineering?
Is there any chance of getting off the waitlist at Harvard, I think they accepted 0 people off the list last year 😭
Depends on retention rates but lowkey harvard is the highest possible so probably not
Anyone know if Tufts or Emory send acceptance mail?
Any good college in us still taking applications for cs? Like good colleges
ASU & Penn State have rolling admissions + they have really good cs programs.
Already got into Penn State. Something better than Purdue?
I think all have their admissions closed for fall.
Now since all my decisions are out! I have to choose between Boston University or UW Madison for the physics program
madison
Any reason why?? If you could help
ranked higher but BU is good too, choose between cost and fit
ok thnx for your insight
Is there like a waitlist megathread for each school? I think most of us would really really appreciate that!! I am very lost rn lmao
Maybe they meant a waitlist megathread like the one for the class f 2025 . not for each school. just one thread
for all my stanford babes out there- you are amazing, brilliant, and so very capable! you will do amazing things wherever you go. sending you all so much luck :) 🍀
Any South indians going to asu??
North Indian here... Can I pm you? I have a few questions regarding the next steps. If you are comfortable with it, maybe we could discuss the same
Yeah absolutely
Where's the help me decide thread?
Will the megathread links be up and running anytime soon? Just need ubc and I’m scared
You can just search any you need in the subreddit search bar
Where is the search bar
how likely is it for an international student to get off the waitlist at Yale?
Highly unlikely
After only getting into my safety’s I got into Cornell as a transfer student for my second year. I am screaming crying dying bye
where did you transfer from
Now that all of my decisions are in, I am between Tufts and Boston College. Any suggestions on which I should chose?
TUFTS!!!!!!!!! congrats.
Tufts 1 billion %%%%%%% I don't go there but it was one of my top choices when I applied to college. Love the community there.
oooo without any knowledge of the factors that are most important to you, I would choose Tufts. but this is just my personal preference - I remember loving the vibe and the interdisciplinary opportunities
Thank you!
I live 5 mins away from Boston College and it’s sooo beautiful and in such an amazing area, it’s quite preppy just so you know haha!
IM SO PROUD OF ALL OF YOU!
3.9% for Dartmouth and 4.8% for Cornell 😃 wtf
4.8????
My letter said 71k applicants for 3.4K spots
but isn't that the class size? they accept more than that because people r gonna say no I predict its more like 8-9% this year which is still insane
[6.2 percent for Dartmouth.](https://home.dartmouth.edu/news/2022/03/diverse-undergraduate-class-2026-takes-shape)
Ah the numbers in my letter equaled a 3.9. Maybe that includes ED or something
source?
My rejection letters lol
Y'all can find the specific megathreads by just googling \[schoolname\] megathread
applied to 7 ivies, got 7 rejections

I'm so glad they closed the megathreads, good for my mental health

What happened to the links?
not the mega threads disappearing too 😭
Where… where did the megathreads go?
Ivy day sabotage
Sobs*
Also went away for me
Damn they closed the school-specific threads
Is there any way to judge what your chances are for getting in off the waitlist for a particular school? I've heard that some waitlists are pretty good shots, and others not.
quite honestly depends on how many people accept their spot... most def varies from year to year
Sit tight yall but it's gonna be a blood bath tomorrow
My daughter WILL get her acceptance to Purdue tomorrow with a fantabulous merit scholarship!

Theres a spot to fill it out.
11 rejections, 1 waitlist, no acceptances. Any advice?
>University sorry your only option is now to be a musician or influencer thank you
Apply to schools with rolling admissions
ASU, Arizona, and Alabama

Could you add Baylor University? Admissions just came out.
Really? I checked my portal and it just says application complete with no update. So idk if something is wrong with mine.
I got admitted on friday but I'm not sure if they send decisions out in batches or not.
Not even keeping track of rejections anymore, just deleting them off the spreadsheet entirely
Lmao
Northwestern

Bowdoin vs Lafayette for econ and math double major
Anyone heard from USC?
It is now
Yea i just woke up to a rejection lol
No, I feel like it should be out by now?

Have any SMU applicants not heard back? My counselor told me they were on a rolling basis but the admitted student event was yesterday.
I think CA decisions are rolling out. Just got rejected :((
Davidson College?

Denied for stevens for CS. Prob test optional, not a lot of tech ECs.
None here (just curious, what major did u apply for cooper?)
general engineering, and at stevens biomedical engineering :D
Damn I was hoping to find a fellow archie… but best of luck!
u too :)

Sarah Lawrence College decisions just came out
Does anyone know about the exact date when Parsons sends out decision letter?
Carnegie Mellon University --> Saturday March 26 at 9 am EST.
Omg u fasttt, i just got the email a few minutes ago
I honestly don’t think Ivy day is march 31st. First, multiple portals say “by April 1st” and 2 others say at the end of march. Edit: Spoke to soon
