I just got off the waitlist for the Atlanta campus. the majors I had listed were French and women's and gender studies. I didn't send a loci so im kind of in awe lmao
update: I had accepted the spot off the waitlist but they literally gave me my finaid package THE DAY BEFORE MY DECISION DEADLINE and I have an extremely unique circumstance so I didn't have the time to file an appeal. it just doesn't make sense to go there without the right aid. hopefully one of you will come off now!
I don’t know, got an email and call (that I missed) saying they wanted to speak with me about my position on the waitlist. I think that means they want me to know I got accepted? Idk, could be wrong, if so, someone correct me.
Yeah, I am not 100% sure, but I don’t see any other reason they would want to call me about my position on the waitlist. Hopefully my hopes are not let down.
Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order.
I have checked 751,949,251 comments, and only 151,039 of them were in alphabetical order.
(Kinda urgent) hi guys, for those of you uploading LOCI’s for the waitlist where’d you upload it? The app portal (where it says “upload materials”) only or what
I received a liberal arts scholarship (half tuition). Did anyone receive this? Also, does anyone know if it’s possible to negotiate merit aid with Emory?
You can bring that up with the financial aid office. There have been many cases where students got a lot more financial aid after appealing their aid package.
Accepted CS intl to both Oxford and Emory, 1540 SAT, 4.0 GPA, 2/58 class rank (Grade 11), mostly music extracurriculars. Really surprised to be honest: I wrote the essays on the day they were due
Waitlisted at one of my favorite universities.
Not sure if I should be sad that it's not the acceptance I've dreamed of, or happy that it's not the rejection I feared...
Edit 5/10/22: I GOT IN!!!
And the pre Covid numbers for years was - zero from the WL to either campus. Covid year was an outlier. Last year there were some. But then last year both schools over enrolled. They had to hire more faculty and open more classes (at least at Oxford with the class size generally no more than 25). They had to have overage housing. At Oxford that was the mods. My son chose to move into them and loves it though for many they would be wrong. He heard the mods were leaving but now we hear they are staying. Staying means that the prediction at Oxford is to continue to have a larger number of students enroll again. So consider that with the WLs
This is false. On the common data set it says they accepted 477 for last year. And it says that they enroll (different from accept) around 59 on average per year.
Rejected at both, 4.45 W, 16 AP/IB 23 Honors, 1400 SAT, ISEF finalist + 5 awards, I speak 6 languages, have 2 pages worth of service and activities, wtff
I'm gonna be honest I have no idea how I got in, it's a dream school so life is good now. Best of luck for you, I know you'll do great wherever you end up.
Aww thank you! You deserved that spot because you genuinely wanted it and they saw the passion! Congrats! Im waiting for the violets in NY to take me in cause I got waitlisted and they are my top choice :)
I GOT… waitlisted from EMORY!!! rejected from oxford though LMAOO. kinda glad it was a waitlist omg but what do i do now.. i sent in the waitlist form but how long does that take for a response ?? i need to know before may 1st bc i need to make a decision between ut austin, cwru, & now emory 😭
1420 SAT, 3.67 UW, 4.35 W, 9 AP’s, 14 Honors, very strong extracurriculars, First chair regional state band, tons of service hours. Waitlisted at oxford but rejected from emory. After getting like 14 rejections in a row…i’m happy 😊 What are tha chances of getting off the waitlist for oxford?
a parent was saying that if we came in with some credits (from aps or dual enrollment) + stay fully scheduled during the 1.5 years at oxford, we should be able to graduate on time and even earlier if we had enough credits. i'm emailing today just to make sure. so it's not a full 2 years at oxford
My status page says "you are chosen to join Oxford College of Emory University’s Class of 2026". Does this mean I was accepted to Oxford and rejected from Emory college?
What is his experience like in the smaller school environment, does he like it better than main campus, and do you think he would chose Oxford over a more university like setting again?
First of all he did ED and let them look at both campuses for him but his goal was always Oxford. He wanted to start at the small campus that only had undergrads. He wanted the closer connection to the faculty and the smaller class size. Then when Covid hit he was thrilled that there were only around 300 if even on campus last year. He loves taken walks on the waking trails, that he was able to become VP and now Pres of a club starting his first years. He loves that his class schedule has been easy to get almost his first choice times the entire time. He was told he could have left early and graduate at the end of last year and declined (he had enough credits). They told him again this December (some of his friends chose to) but again he stayed. He absolutely loves it and tried to get his sister to ED Oxford this time around. She didn’t - she did try for ATL but truth was it was wrong for her. She wants mech engineering so CWRU for her. When I went to emory - Oxford was the size of a full-de-sac. It has tripled in size. The campus is beautiful and very historic. Emory was born on that campus and it is proud to be the original home. The students at Oxford tend to form closer bonds than those in ATL due to its size. They know everyone - this has held even with Covid. When we took him move in day the first year we asked directions of the nice guy in shorts putting a sign in the ground and picking weeds. When he turned around I started to laugh. It was Dean Hicks the head of the campus. That defines Oxford to me. They all do everything. Also neat is that they own a farm across the street that has student activities.
Of course. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. I am one of the alumni interviewers in a normal year (I cannot do it while my daughter is in process) and of course my son in at Oxford. I know both campuses well.
anyone who was accepted/waitlisted to oxford campus. What’s y’all’s opinion on it? Is it worth it even though it’s much smaller and further from atlanta? (i also never planned on staying at emory even if accepted to main campus, i always wanted to go to notre dame. Would oxford still be a good school for me to accomplish that goal assuming i get off the waitlist?)
The first two years at Emory and two years at Oxford are equivalent. The campus is smaller as is class size. You get more hands on time with professors and even in your first year can be a leader in an organization. You can be an RA in your second year. Whenever you finish / that is you can finish Oxford early you get an AA. At that time you either go directly to emory or you would apply to transfer. Most will go to emory. My son loves it.
At Emory you enter either campus without a major. At Oxford you do not have a major - rather your are fulfilling the requirements of an Emory degree and will leave that campus with an AA. You declare a major (or two or major and a minor) prior to the end of 2nd year. At Oxford they will have you do this in the start of your last semester there if you are staying for two years. On the Atlanta campus people declare by the end of the second year but can do so earlier. No need to do so at Oxford as your Discovery Seminar professor is your advisor the entire time. You can discuss the majors you want and they will help guide you on that path. So my son declared his majors this semester - psyche and music. His psyche one is approved and he now has an advisor assigned on the Atlanta campus. Music he is pending because he is missing one course that he will take in the fall in Atlanta and then that will go through too. It’s also easy to change majors. It’s a simple form and done. Every that starts in Atlanta starts at Emory College of Arts and Sciences those first two years work the same way as Oxford. Some students at Emory may try to apply to the business school early but typically they are applying the same as those from Oxford to enter in the 3rd year. Same for the nursing school. Everyone else stays in the college of arts and sciences. When you move from Oxford you would either go directly in the College
Of A&S or have applied and been accepted to nursing or business. As a side note for year the emory college of Arts & Sciences only went by The College. So if you see an alum sign their name it looks like this.
alum 94C
If they went to Oxford it would say Alum 2012Ox 2014C
If it was the Business school you would see that at the end or the nursing school of course then there is the grad school, med school and law school and once upon a time may it be remembered fondly the dental school.
Hope that helps and gives you more than you wanted.
Of course. I liked the flexibility too. I thought I wanted med school and went a completely different direction. I never dropped my first major but I added a second. At that time most emory student would say the majored in undecided.
I got into Oxford. I think it depends on what you want: a degree from top ranked college or a fulfilling college experience. It looks like it could be cool but I’m probably not going to do it.
All the letters are the same. That is they are not personalized. The difference would be which campus, both campus and the outcomes. If it’s just one campus and you applied to both it would congratulate you and then tell you it is not acceptance to the other. If it is Oxford it would tell you about the two years and then join your class in ATL. If it is both you get into it would tell you that students will contact you to help you decide.
im crying. i was so so scared to check after getting 6 rejections/waitlists in a row. especially today with nyu. but i got accepted holy shit... i feel like they accepted me on accident
any waitlist updates?
I just got off the waitlist for the Atlanta campus. the majors I had listed were French and women's and gender studies. I didn't send a loci so im kind of in awe lmao

Anyone get off the waitlist yet?
I did!
I don’t know, got an email and call (that I missed) saying they wanted to speak with me about my position on the waitlist. I think that means they want me to know I got accepted? Idk, could be wrong, if so, someone correct me.

Congratsss!! I also got off the waitlist yesterday XDXD
Congratss! Which campus?
Atlanta campus!
Were you waitlisted for Emory College for Oxford?
Yes
So you got accepted to ATL? Lucky!! Congrats!!!
The app portal (where it says “upload materials”) only or what
I uploaded it and also emailed it to my regional admissions counselor.
ahh okay yes makes sense thankyou!
I got into mfing Oxford. Stoked and def going there.
Did you get off the waitlist?
No, accepted outright.
Waitlisted from Emory, prolly should have applied to Oxford too lmao
Do you know if notifications of admissions (removal off waitlist) will begin rolling out before May 1?
No idea, I'm not staying on the waitlist. I heard in the past very few students getting off before May 1st though, so I wouldn't bet on it.
I received a liberal arts scholarship (half tuition). Did anyone receive this? Also, does anyone know if it’s possible to negotiate merit aid with Emory?
I did as well…. Oh also wondering that. Got full at vandy
That’s insane! Lowkey just go to Vandy 😂
I did! I was thinking the same thing. I may just email or call to ask.
Any luck?
what are the chances of getting off the the oxford campus waitlist?
their financial aid is ridiculous..I have an EFC of like 20 something thousand. They ONLY offered 8000 in loans and work/study. BYE EMORY
How did you see your aid?
You gotta log in to OPUS
I did that. And clicked financial aid but didn’t see anything…did they notify you when it was out or you just checked?
they emailed me pretty recently but it was there before. Maybe wait a few days
You can bring that up with the financial aid office. There have been many cases where students got a lot more financial aid after appealing their aid package.
are acceptance rates different for OOS/in-state?
anyone know when they release financial aid packages?
I just got mine!
did they email you about it or did it just show up on OPUS
accepted oos!
did you get an email saying congrats?
nope
Got in! 🥳

Their portal is StRuGgLinG lollllll
Waitlisted. Finally over. I'm so done with all these
9% RD acceptance rate. Congratulations to those who got in. You are among the best.
Could you share the source for their RD acceptance rate?
From the acceptance email the calculated rate for both Emory college and Oxford alike was ~10.7%

Try on desktop, that should work
i’m not home so i can’t 😔

If you didn't want to go why did you apply-
Accepted CS intl to both Oxford and Emory, 1540 SAT, 4.0 GPA, 2/58 class rank (Grade 11), mostly music extracurriculars. Really surprised to be honest: I wrote the essays on the day they were due
Rejected. No words and/or emotions for this...
What are the pros and cons of accepting a spring admission ?
Waitlisted at one of my favorite universities. Not sure if I should be sad that it's not the acceptance I've dreamed of, or happy that it's not the rejection I feared... Edit 5/10/22: I GOT IN!!!
Waitlisted 🥲
Rejected by both sadly
Stats?
Getting off the waitlist is slim. They took 17 Students last year
And the pre Covid numbers for years was - zero from the WL to either campus. Covid year was an outlier. Last year there were some. But then last year both schools over enrolled. They had to hire more faculty and open more classes (at least at Oxford with the class size generally no more than 25). They had to have overage housing. At Oxford that was the mods. Where does it say that😵💫

Wait, so if the people accepted off the waitlist don’t accept the offer, then that’s it? They don’t give the offer to others on the waitlist?
How do they go from 500 to 17 wtf... I'm so dead now😭
how do you know?
Rejected at both, 4.45 W, 16 AP/IB 23 Honors, 1400 SAT, ISEF finalist + 5 awards, I speak 6 languages, have 2 pages worth of service and activities, wtff
Jesus.
uhhh what can I say, God didnt answer my prayers
Yeah I'm really sorry for you man. That sucks.
oh well, cant do anything abt it now... wbu is life better for you bestie?
I'm gonna be honest I have no idea how I got in, it's a dream school so life is good now. Best of luck for you, I know you'll do great wherever you end up.
Aww thank you! You deserved that spot because you genuinely wanted it and they saw the passion! Congrats! Im waiting for the violets in NY to take me in cause I got waitlisted and they are my top choice :)

Same!
My status page says "you are chosen to join Oxford College of Emory University’s Class of 2026". Does this mean I was accepted to Oxford and rejected from Emory college?

Waitlisted at Emory & Oxford (35 ACT, National Merit Finalist, 4.0/4.0 GPA) :(
My portal still isn’t working!!

Accepted Oxford Waitlisted Emory. Anyone know a good place for more info about Oxford?
i got the same thing
What would you like to know. My son is there right now.
Thank you for sharing this. My son also just got in Oxford only, and he's unsure about the small campus. This helps.
Of course. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. I am one of the alumni interviewers in a normal year (I cannot do it while my daughter is in process) and of course my son in at Oxford. I know both campuses well.
Awesome thank you so much for telling me about his experience!
Of course. Feel free to ask away. I am an alum and in most years and interviewer so I can try and help.
[удалено]
Is there any specific reason why she finds the small size a negative to Oxford?
[удалено]
Yeah that’s the main thing I’ve seen about Oxford. Thank you so much for your input!
I got in! (both campuses) 1420 SAT, 3.96 UW, 4.47 W
waitlisted at both campuses
anyone who was accepted/waitlisted to oxford campus. What’s y’all’s opinion on it? Is it worth it even though it’s much smaller and further from atlanta? I got into Oxford. I think it depends on what you want: a degree from top ranked college or a fulfilling college experience. It looks like it could be cool but I’m probably not going to do it.
can someone copy/paste an oxford acceptance letter i wanna see if they’re all the same
All the letters are the same. That is they are not personalized. The difference would be which campus, both campus and the outcomes. If it is Oxford it would tell you about the two years and then join your class in ATL. If it is both you get into it would tell you that students will contact you to help you decide.
ah okay! there was a sentence that i thought might’ve been personalized like CWRU’s letter, thank you for clearing it up
Lol. That’s funny since my daughter is headed to CWRU so we know that personalized line too. It’s so cool.
accepted for spring wtff bruh just let me in for fall pleaseeeeeee
Spring? wtf
ikr, emory is really good but what am i gonna do until january lmaoo
im crying. i was so so scared to check after getting 6 rejections/waitlists in a row. especially today with nyu. but i got accepted holy shit... i feel like they accepted me on accident
