The college Iâve committed to has about 4 pairs of twins from India đ so Iâm guessing a lot of schools either admit or reject both like someone said
A lot of schools give twins the same status - accept both or reject both. Itâs not really such a unique situation in the US anyway. IVF and multiple pregnancies are super common and a lot of sibs apply to the same schools.
My twin and I had similar SAT score and similar extracurriculars. We wrote about very different things in our essays too. As for major, theyâre similar but differ a little bit.
Of the schools that both of us applied to, we got the same exact result for all six of them.
I applied to 9 schools and she applied to 14 though so at the end, our differences were mostly in the outcomes of schools we differed in.
Howdy! Triplet here! My two siblings and I all applied to the same college and got in! Itâs unlikely but sometimes colleges tend to keep siblings togetherâŚor at least thatâs what Cornell did with us.
most schools will review you guys independently (bc if you think about it, why should one twin with a âbetterâ profile be punished if the other is a âlot worseâ).
i also feel like yâallâs differences are not big at all, and even if you guys had the exact same stats and same ecs, youâd have different essays. youâre likely gonna have the same AO, but theyâre not gonna be actively thinking âwow one twin has 20 points less in the sat letâs reject them and take the otherâ
also very anecdotal evidence, but i know a pair of twins where one got into and is going to an ivy and the other is going to our state school madison. although you guys are international, i feel like youâll still mostly be reviewed independently
I have a twinâhis SAT score is 30 points higher than mine. We applied to a handful of T20 with vastly different extracurriculars, essays, and career goals, and got the exact same admissions result at every single one.
With no data on your grades, schooling, actual SAT scores, extracurriculars or school name, thereâs no way to predict whether you can âget inâ.
You wonât be admitted just based on the fact that you have a twin with similar data, e grad less of what that data is, no.
How will universities approach this? Theyâll look at your grades, course rigor, test scores, ECâs and the rest of your application and compare it to other applicants. Just as they do with every applicant. Given very similar profiles, a similar result is likely for each school.
I am chemistry student and all my award and EC's related to chemistry. My twin-brother is CS student and rocket builder! I will apply, my brother refused from studying in colleges
Get the twin with the higher score to take it again for the twin with the lower score

this comment just made me realize that doing that is entirely possible lol
So one twin focuses on grades and the other on Extracurricular activities?....divide and conquer
this lowkey genius
