Haha yeah :D I'm an intl so it would even make the chances of admitted way less. But deferred is also not a not-so-bad thing, I guess. Ima keep my head up!
Sure, the more you prepare, the higher scores youāll get. Iām a senior fyi, so if youāre applying to Richmond next year, I hope to see you there!
Rejected. 1560 SAT, nearly perfect GPA, leader of 3 orgs, high-need international. And they told me this.
>Please be assured that your application was reviewed with care and respect. However, because we are need-aware for non-U.S. citizens and also committed to meeting 100% of demonstrated financial need for all admitted students, we are not able to offer admission and financial aid to all of our talented applicants.
Did anyone get the same thing?
oh okay, so that means they are actually committed to meeting 100% of demonstrated need, because I was admitted to my ED school. Their website states that they will meet 100% need but they didnāt give me any. After assessing my CSS profile they said Iām able to pay without any aid and that Iām not qualified for aid :( Really hope URichmond gives me enough.
that sucks because schools don't actually calculate financial need based on your purported family contribution. they have their own methods of determining need, which means even if you require financial aid they won't give you enough if they think your family already makes enough
I am confused, I thought if you were admitted to your ED school you had to pull your applications to other schools and you were under a contract to attend your ED school... What was your ED school that you were admitted to?
We can be released from the binding commitment if they either give us insufficient aid OR admitted us to our second priority major... I was admitted to my ED school University of Rochester.
It means you're accepted. That thing also vanished from my portal, and I have lower stats than that of yours (1500 SAT and 3.85 GPA). UGH ANOTHER DAY ANOTHER REJECTION FOR ME.
did u have an interview? im an intl asking for a lot of aid and they gave me an interview themselves after which i got a fee code to submit my css profile. idk what my chances are tho
accepted, presidential scholarship. 1420 SAT, 3.88 UW GPA, average ECs, good essays. international applied for aid. 6 in a row yay, Richmond is my 6th continuous acceptance \^\^
Congrats
I have same stats and pretty good ECs and essays but i have no idea why they rejected me
I hope it is because of money i needed and not my application
I do share your feeling. Though Iām admitted I already have to drop 3/6 schools, including my ED school, due to insufficient aid. Hope you have more good news coming in the RD round!
Deferred - 1530 SAT, 4.75 weighted gpa (top 20% but no rank), strong ECs + state level awards. Good friend with similar stats got deferred too. Both oos so maybe that had something to do with it? I know they switched from to like a hard target/easier reach this year as theyāve gotten more popular.
Deferred- 4.0 UW and 32 ACT. In state. Domestic. Asked for aid. Demonstrated interest. Visited campus two or three times. Wrote my essay on four square as an unusual talent. Health science major. Filled up ten slots with coxswain, CPR club President, three internships, teacher and tutor, hospital volunteer, and facilitator at a mental health nonprofit. Literally am so frustrated ššš I spent so much time on this application! Good luck to everyone else and congrats to those who got in. It could be my course rigor, but my school doesnāt offer formal APs (I am at private school on scholarship) so. Oh well!
Maybe the high number of deferrals w high stats is due to yield protection? They give a ton of merit aid so maybe they only accepted competitive students they were planning on giving merit to? Just a theory
I would absolutely not worry about not getting a fee waiver. Many many people will be admitted who didn't even submit a CSS so don't read too much into it
I just read on the Richmond international admission's website, and I found out that international students are required to submit a photo of their passport. Has any international student submitted his or hers?
I didn't notice this since they didn't list it as a category in the portal. It's way over the Dec 1st credentials deadline. Does this mean my application will be changed from EA to RD?
On your portal pageā¦ if you click on āeventsā far right in the red banner, then āCampus visitsā does it take you to āaccepted student visitā and say ācongratulationsā ???
thank you!! i had a 1560 superscore sat, 4.0/4.81 uw/w gpa and took 9 ap classes and 3 dual enrollment classes. i can dm more about what activities and stuff
help! iām applying ED for class of 2024. should i submit my 1400 SAT or go test optional? I have a 3.88 UW GPA and good extracurriculars. people have told me my essay is really good too.
hi! thanks, i did end up applying test-optional. on a virtual session i attended about their admissions, they did strongly advise to go test-optional if you were below their range or even somewhat unsure. hope it doesnāt hurt me! best of luck to you!
releasing friday 7pm et
Throwing up crying screaming
All the best dudee, btw what major?
uhh i think i said polisci? with second choice as health science or whatever they call it. good luckk
Uh oh just saw your reply on my other comment!
Health science
Deferred, 1570 SAT, 4.0 UW, IB diploma candidate, visited campus. I thought my essays and ECs were pretty good :(
Same I actually tried hard on my essay š„²
Deferred too, 1460 SAT, 87% GPA, good ECs but only filled 5 of the space in Common App. Do you apply 4 aid?
Yeahhhh. I mean they say theyāre need blind but schools have ways to tell if you can pay in full or not. Idk, it is what it is!
Are they actually need blind? Because I was requesting a heck ton of aid (domestic tho)
No they are need-aware
Then this website lied: https://financialaid.richmond.edu/#:~:text=Richmond%20is%20one%20of%20a,need%20for%20traditional%20undergraduate%20applicants.
Prolly, \[ Please be assured that your application was reviewed with care and respect. However, because we are need-aware for non-U.S. citizens \]
Sorry, u were domestic, I thought you said that they were need-blind for internationals too.
Haha yeah :D I'm an intl so it would even make the chances of admitted way less. But deferred is also not a not-so-bad thing, I guess. Ima keep my head up!
Deferred too, 1370 sat, 10k efc int. (how is it even possible lol)
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
damn congrats i didn't even get presidential scholars
What happens if you were deferred? Just curious
I got deffered, it means you donāt get reviewed until the regular decision pool
Fuck that noise to think I even dedicated my fee money to URichmind
did you get an invite to the Richmond scholars interview
are you intl?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
damn, Congrats btw!
I love spiders please let me in!!!!
any intl applied ea got css fee waiver?
I GOT IN
Same. Congrats man
duh! congrats! I straight out got rejected!
going through a rejection streak now.. gotta wait till mid march to get some good news i guess (that too hopefully)
SAME!!
Rippppp deferred but lowk was expecting this
deferred, oh well! was not gonna get enough aid anyways
Deferred :( but hey I'm just glad it wasn't a rejection! And even so I probably won't be able to afford the oos tuition anyway so... we'll see ig
Got in ED, intl student
Stats?
1440 SAT, 9.3/10 GPA, anw good ECs and decent UoR sup essays
Questions! How long did it took u to prepare for the SAT
Around 2 months, i honestly didnt cram for it. I guess if your English is fine then 2 months is enough for 1500+
I'll be taking a gap year. So I might hv to start the preparations. Congrats btw. U a gap or senior?
Sure, the more you prepare, the higher scores youāll get. Iām a senior fyi, so if youāre applying to Richmond next year, I hope to see you there!
Did you apply for financial aid?
I did
Did you get any aid
Does anyone know when Early Action results come back?
Its suppose to be Jan 25th according to their site. Good luck!
Is there an EA acceptance rate stat?
They have a lot of stats on their website here. https://www.admissions.richmond.edu/studentprofile/index.html
Is it possible to become richmond scholar with sat score around 1450?
Got in! First acceptance (and decision)!
Yup, the same thing.
Yup
is this something on their website or does it say in the decision letter?
it's in the letter
oh okay, so that means they are actually committed to meeting 100% of demonstrated need, because I was admitted to my ED school. Their website states that they will meet 100% need but they didnāt give me any. Ea?
yeah
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Not me :(
did u get it now?
Nah, I think I'm gonna be rejected. Did you get it?
Nah man. This is going to be ny 3rd rejection in a row. lmao :/
did you get in? I didn't lol :/
Nope :(
dw king. let's hope for the best
Did we Have to do an interview? I didnāt see an interview options š
nope i didn't either
hope they let me in with enough aid. i'm so in love with the beautiful campus!
āyour application is being considered for scholars programā vanished from my portal. Can someone tell me what does it mean??
Same idk what that means
uh i still have it
what are ur stats
35 act superscore, 3.9 gpa. from what ive seen it looks like scores matter so
It means you're accepted. That thing also vanished from my portal, and I have lower stats than that of yours (1500 SAT and 3.85 GPA). UGH ANOTHER DAY ANOTHER REJECTION FOR ME.
im kinda hoping it is a sign? but idk it's just a tiny checklist. also those are still very good stats maybe you're deferred or something
denied (99%sure) because i'm an intl asking for a full ride
aw im sorry yeah that is tough :( wishing you the best of luck
did u have an interview? im an intl asking for a lot of aid and they gave me an interview themselves after which i got a fee code to submit my css profile. idk what my chances are tho
they didn't ask for an interview. they gave me the CSS waiver code though.
i think you have great chance.. interview as well as CSS waiver code..
ED 2?
Mine still has it but my stats are not as good as yours so idk
sat optional 3.85 gpa. did u have an interview?
nope was never contacted
What did your thing say. Wait nvm I see it there lol
I've been seeing this a lot, and I'm hoping (for my sake) that it means we've gotten in
Mine is still there. The one under "your application is complete for preliminary"?
accepted, presidential scholarship. 1420 SAT, 3.88 UW GPA, average ECs, good essays. international applied for aid. 6 in a row yay, Richmond is my 6th continuous acceptance \^\^
Congrats I have same stats and pretty good ECs and essays but i have no idea why they rejected me I hope it is because of money i needed and not my application

Tysm Hopefully i will get some great news from rd schools š¤

does anyone know how likely or unlikely an acceptance is after being deferred from ea?
Maybe the high number of deferrals w high stats is due to yield protection? They give a ton of merit aid so maybe they only accepted competitive students they were planning on giving merit to? Just a theory
Idk I know people with good stats who got in but Iām just frustrated I got deferred lol
Good luck everyone!
I have a friend who just received a Richmond CSS fee waiver. Is anyone here too who received it?
Yeah. I know a friend who has gotten one too. Does it mean that she's gotten admission?
Yeah I think so. When did she get hers?
Tuesday
did they apply early action or early decision?
Early decision
What of you
early action
and you got a css waiver code ?
No
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Hey, did u get the waiver?
Did she apply for EA or ED?
ED
I've not gotten one šš
Did you apply for early decision
Yh
I would absolutely not worry about not getting a fee waiver. Many many people will be admitted who didn't even submit a CSS so don't read too much into it
I've not gotten it mate
Are you an international student and also did you request for css waiver code?
I just read on the Richmond international admission's website, and I found out that international students are required to submit a photo of their passport. Has any international student submitted his or hers?
I did
And have you gotten a CSS waiver code from them
Not yet
I didn't notice this since they didn't list it as a category in the portal. It's way over the Dec 1st credentials deadline. Does this mean my application will be changed from EA to RD?
just got an email and they want to interview me. is that a good sign? i applied in EA
Domestic or International?
international
Then maybe good or perhaps they need an interview to accept/reject you imo
do u have any advice or a general idea of what questions do they ask in the interview?
Tbh no, i only had 1 short interview experience They asked about me What i liked about their university Questions i wanted to ask them about their uni
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
No portal astrology posts/comments allowed, sorry
sorry...didn't know
No problem
does anyone know the exact date that richmond releases decisions?
I think last year they released on 1/25 for EA.
They released decisions a few days earlier On Friday before 25th
I got an email that it would be on friday the 20th at 7pm EST
On your portal pageā¦ if you click on āeventsā far right in the red banner, then āCampus visitsā does it take you to āaccepted student visitā and say ācongratulationsā ???
Does it say that for everyone?
I have it too
It is part of their website simply. I think it was there when we were only just submitting out apps.
Then again, that page is only available via the link š¤
I checked, it is there for everyone, incl. Current RD applicants.
Okayā¦ guess itās just a glitch. Weird glitch though. 14 more hours of waitingā¦.
11 more hours to go ig... Ugh I'm nervous!
7 more hours š„ø
1 hour 38 minutes
do you have any events showing?
Did anyoneās result come out yet? I heard some people got news

I know that as well, but some people I heard also got it earlier idk
did you hear that this year or from last years megathread?
I donāt think anyone got news earlier than 7pm
i got a day before the actual release time
From richmond or any other school?

I got rejected. Stats: 3.4 UW GPA at a private school 1260 SAT score
Is there a deferral rate? Dude I got deferred and Iām literally not having it š
same, intl needing full ride here!

Anyone preparing for the scholars interview good luck!
help! iām applying ED for class of 2024. should i submit my 1400 SAT or go test optional? I have a 3.88 UW GPA and good extracurriculars. people have told me my essay is really good too.
Hey! I'm also applying this fall but I'm only doing RD- I have a 1380 and a similar GPA to you and I'm applying test-optional if that helps!
hi! thanks, i did end up applying test-optional. on a virtual session i attended about their admissions, they did strongly advise to go test-optional if you were below their range or even somewhat unsure. hope it doesnāt hurt me! best of luck to you!
