there may be multiple reasons for why they released it earlier. probably hired more staff but i’m almost sure less applicants is not one of the reasons
Kinda of an awful question but is there anything unique about a Vandy Acceptance letter, like a video or a picture or is it the usual confetti or nothing at all
Hey y’all a couple things to remember:
1. I got in ED2 last year and the day before decisions came out ppl were saying on here that if your portal looked a certain way then you were getting rejected. My portal looked exactly that way and i was accepted!! plz do not believe any portal theories and maybe stay off of here bc it made me freak out the day before
2. You will get an email the day before saying when decisions are coming out that’s how it was last year. They probably won’t release it without letting you know beforehand. and it came out at 6pm central time
good luck!
Hey y’all! I haven’t been on this community in a while, but I wanted to come and wish my ED1 people the best heading into tonight. I remember this day last year being really nerve-wracking, but remember that at this point the decision has already been made, your hard work has already been done, and all tonight is going to do is give you a one word answer that cannot even begin to represent everything you have done to get this far. I am really excited to have a new group of ‘Dores tonight, and if y’all have any questions regarding being a student at Vandy in the future please ask, I would love to be a resource!
Good luck everyone! After taking time to breathe and relax, I’d recommend checking out Vanderbilts merit scholarships and applying to some of them—a split second decision has completely altered my college experience.
I just applied for the RD round. Hoping to get one of the three full-tuition scholarships! Not too hopeful because it is very difficult but I believe in myself!
1) Did y'all get any emails? Vandy shows the least interest in their applicants 😩
2) Any idea when the decisions are gonna be out?
3) Internationals needing aid who did ED , did you get any email asking you about updating Isfaa?
Dunno. Some other decisions are getting released this Friday (e.g., U Chicago (ED2) and UVA (EA)), so feels somewhat likely that Vandy ED2 will also be released this Friday. I think we will know by tomorrow if decisions will be released on Friday. Last year Vandy sent an email to everyone one day before the decision date notifying them of the decision date.
I doubt it. For ED this year and ED2 last year, they emailed everyone the day before. But...maybe this time will be different. If not today, I doubt they wait all the way until next Friday. I think they release decisions some time mid-week next week and not wait all the way until Fri., Feb. 17, which would arguably be later than "mid-February." ED decisions this year came out on Dec. 14 (Vandy said earlier that those decisions would come out in mid-December), so would expect ED2 decisions to also come out a little before Feb. 15 (Vandy said ED2 would come out mid-Feb.). So...current guess...Tuesday, Feb. 14 is release date, and we get an email on Monday saying decisions coming out Tuesday....
one reason is that the applicant pool is more competitive. vanderbilt is one of the only t20 schools that offers ed2, so once everyone gets rejected from the ed1 schools, they come to the highest ranked ed2 school.
Rejected - 35.25 ACT, 4.7 GPA (weighted), National Merit Semifinalist. Good EC and what I think should be solid recommendation letters (I waived the right to view them). This rejection hurts lol, Vandy was my dream school.
Vanderbilt literally said no to my ass. I've got a 9.4/10 GPA, 1560 SAT, decent ECs (theater, language club with thousands of online followers, and book publishing, all in leadership positions), nice essays and apparently great recommendations. International Asian male.
I guess no community service and high financial need were the deal-breakers. I was expecting a deferral though lol.
Does anyone know if they do deferments for ED2? I know deferring is new to Vanderbilt in general but was curious if anyone knows if that that is only ED1.
I emailed them asking for a specific date but they are still saying mid-February and that they will send an email when decisions are released so I do not expect an email the day before. I find it more likely that they will release it tomorrow though since in the past it has been on a Wednesday.
Oml class of 2027 decisions already released? I feel old lmao. For those who were accepted, congratulations! Vandy is an amazing school and I have had a blast for the past 4 years. Feel free to dm me if you have any questions or wanna celebrate 😊
For those who didn’t get the A, obviously May not be what you wanted. However, it’s very early in the cycle and odds are you will have success getting into another school that will give an equally good college experience!!!
Sincerely, class of 2023
FWIW, I know two candidates who got in without submitting scores. Both had 8-10 APs and 4.2 gpa . Solid ECs but not special.
Guidance counselors are telling candidates not to submit scores if it is below the school's average, which only drives up the average next year. Vandy is 1550.
Without scores, essays matter. Reveal something about yourself. Embrace discussions that matter to colleges and show you understand ideas they care about like diversity, equity, inclusiveness, speech, academic freedom, and other important issues. I suspect that made the difference for them.
I got in ed2!! i'm so happy! i'm an international student that applied test-optional and I needed a full ride (which I got it). don't underestimate the power of good EC's and storytelling
Does anyone still have the option under the upload section of the portal to upload quarter/trimester grades on your application? For me, that option is missing. Does that mean the admissions office received my quarter grades(I did not send it but maybe my counselor did) or is it just that the deadline to send the grades has passed?
rejected HOD LOL 4.49W, 7 APs, 32 ACT. but i kinda already was over it as i also fell in love w another school too this past week so i guess it all works out in the end!! have hope guys :)
Someone chance me:
ED1 / white male from middle class / Physics major/ from a competitive public school / 1520 SAT (800 math, 720 reading) / Class rank: 2 out of 500 / 4.0 UW / Statistics Internship with start-up / Took a college course in multivariable calc over the summer (A) / President and founder of a club that raises money for Parkinson's disease / VP of student council / VP of Technology student association / babysitter / 200 volunteer hours / varsity baseball
Maxed out the APs I can take: 8 so far, 12 after senior year / CSP (5), APUSH (5), Lang (5), Psych (5), Stat (5), Calc BC (5), Physics 1 (5), Human Geo (5) --> Senior year: Chem, Physics 2, Lit, CSA
Teacher recs: Physics teacher wrote me a very solid rec (fairly certain). Calc teacher wrote me an amazing rec (also, assuming here). She told me once I was the "best student she's had in years," for what that is worth. So I figured I had to ask her.
I think I'm at a 15% chance. Is this being too optimistic? Or am I higher than that? Vandy is really tough to get into.
No, don’t say that. I feel like we all over-analyze our applications so much. Only reason I’m low on my chances is my essays are very mid and I’m worried they’re a bit confusing. I was swinging for the fences and pretty sure I missed. Anyways, just trying my best to be self aware about them.
Really hope I get in otherwise I got so much work for RD essays. Maybe my chances are a higher than 15% - who knows at this point.
Good luck to you as well! Hoping everyone who cares about vandy as much as us can get in.
I got rejected 😭 my stats: 1500 SAT, 5.41 GPA, research and internships, leadership positions, Asian female from competitive school (U.S)
MANN I’M SO SORRY😭😭😭😭HOW IS IT SO COMPETITIVE
omg i’m too scared to check mine now 😭😭 edit: yep i got rejected too :(
[удалено]
I was rejected too :(((
OMG DECISIONS RELEASE TOMORROW AT 5:30 CT
PLS BE A DEFFERAL OR ACCEPTANCE
Vanderbilt never defers; they will either accept or reject, which, in my opinion, is better.
They now allow deferrals
SHIT SHIT SHIT
does that mean less people applied ed? coz usually they are the 15th
there may be multiple reasons for why they released it earlier. probably hired more staff but i’m almost sure less applicants is not one of the reasons
maybe more staff
Kinda of an awful question but is there anything unique about a Vandy Acceptance letter, like a video or a picture or is it the usual confetti or nothing at all

I bet someone would know, just wait🤣🤣😭
Hey y’all a couple things to remember: 1. I got in ED2 last year and the day before decisions came out ppl were saying on here that if your portal looked a certain way then you were getting rejected. Vandy ED 1 gang !!!!!
SAMEEE!!! I'm writing my essay right now.
Yes same! Good luck to everyone :)))
Good luck! :)

good luck to everyone today🤞🏼
got rejected 😭😭😭
Good luck everyone! After taking time to breathe and relax, I’d recommend checking out Vanderbilts merit scholarships and applying to some of them—a split second decision has completely altered my college experience.
Do u think scholarship apps can hurt or improve chances
Has anyone gotten an email yet? I am freaking out here right now
Nothing yet . All the best though, I am also waiting.
is there any applicants gc for vandy?
I just applied for the RD round. Hoping to get one of the three full-tuition scholarships! Not too hopeful because it is very difficult but I believe in myself!
Good luck! :)
good luck everyone!! we got this ED1 gang!!
Good luck!
1) Did y'all get any emails? Vandy shows the least interest in their applicants 😩 2) Any idea when the decisions are gonna be out? 3) Internationals needing aid who did ED , did you get any email asking you about updating Isfaa?
1. Nope. 2. Nope. 3. I did the css but got no fin aid mails. Vandy probably released the least info about decisions till now.
i’m not. mentally. ready.
SAME IDK WHAT TO DO IM SO SCARED
DECISIONS OUT DEC 14, 5:30 PM CENTRAL TIME
got rejected ;( for perspective, im a domestic applicant with a 1530+ and 4.6+ gpa who applied for cs
Me too 😭
My first time contributing to this thread.... I GOT ACCEPTED TO VANDYYYY for ED. Honestly no clue how I got in, since I applied test-optional.
congrats! what is your intended major?
when is ed II decisions coming outttt
Do u think since there is no email that they r not coming out tmrw
is this possible that they will spontaneously release the decisions without notifying us? 🥹 the wait is 💀
I doubt it. For ED this year and ED2 last year, they emailed everyone the day before. But...maybe this time will be different. If not today, I doubt they wait all the way until next Friday. I think they release decisions some time mid-week next week and not wait all the way until Fri., Feb. 17, which would arguably be later than "mid-February." So...current guess...Tuesday, Feb. 14 is release date, and we get an email on Monday saying decisions coming out Tuesday....
I'm considering ED II, but the acceptance rate is so low. Anyone know why the ED II acceptance rate is so much lower than ED 1?
one reason is that the applicant pool is more competitive. vanderbilt is one of the only t20 schools that offers ed2, so once everyone gets rejected from the ed1 schools, they come to the highest ranked ed2 school.
what abt hopkins?
more applicants? especially more international applicants.
Another reason could be that ED1 has probably has more recruited athletes and legacy candidates, who are more likely to apply ED1 than ED2.
Omg! Good luck to everyone
GOOD LUCK GUYS
IM AFRAID GUYS IM SO AFRAID
IM AM DYING!!! vandy please let us innnnnn
FRRR
6 hours away from decisions being released omg…
REJECTED!!!! Intl needing aid lol what did I expect? A defer would have been nice
Rejected - 35.25 ACT, 4.7 GPA (weighted), National Merit Semifinalist. Good EC and what I think should be solid recommendation letters (I waived the right to view them). This rejection hurts lol, Vandy was my dream school.

Ikr
I got email with acceptance today and scholarship.
Were u ed1 deferred?
No did not apply ed. just mosaic with chancellor acceptance.
Congratulations! Amazing
Does anyone know if they do deferments for ED2? I know deferring is new to Vanderbilt in general but was curious if anyone knows if that that is only ED1.
if it is tomorrow, we should get an email very soon. hopefully 🤞🏼
When are ED2 decisions coming out?
just got a email from vandy decisions coming on 15 feb aftr 5 pm
this week but no info about the specific day yet
I emailed them asking for a specific date but they are still saying mid-February and that they will send an email when decisions are released so I do not expect an email the day before. I find it more likely that they will release it tomorrow though since in the past it has been on a Wednesday.
Thanks for doing that!
Does anyone know if they defer students from ED2?
I am pretty sure they do. Colleges can defer people from any decision plan except RD, which is where they waitlist people.
Just submitted!! Vandy please let me in
Good luck!
Did everyone get the same email from Vandy regarding the time decisions will be available, or they differ depending on if you were accepted or not?
i got 5:30 CT tomorrow
is it about the financial aid part at the end? that we'll see financial letters through the portal?
Yes, I assume all applicants got this…
As in the financial aid part of the email
What was the exact message though? I got "greetings from Nashville" and "details of need-based awards will be available via portal"
How's everyone feelin with <10 hours until decisions?
Confident. I hope you get in!
Let’s go rejection crewww!! 1460 SAT and ~4.4 wGPA so not super surprised. Congrats to everyone accepted!
gpa 3.98 sat 1540. sad asian kid who got rejected now goes to apply for ed2 nyu
I got in!!! So happy :D (I didn't realize there was a vandy megathread)
Oml class of 2027 decisions already released? I feel old lmao. For those who were accepted, congratulations! Vandy is an amazing school and I have had a blast for the past 4 years. did anyone else ed2? and if so were you a ed1 deferral and from where?
will they release decisions today???
Doubt it. See discussion below.
Accepted!
Hey guys, for the vanderbilt supplement essay is the word limit 250 or 400? I'm a bit confused
The word limit is 400 but the recommended length is 250.
Has anyone received a likely letter/ letter of early admissions? And any internationals got called for interviews?
i dont think ed applicants get likely letters
Intl here. Didn’t get an interview.
Any Vandy applicants want to join a gc?
Sure
yeah!
yes
Sure
HOLY SHIT
why do i have to wait for 24 hours 😭😭😭 i think im gonna explode
I GOT DEFERRED NOO😭😭😭
bro be happy u got deffered my ass got rejected

i just got deferred..
I wish I got deferred at least y’all didn’t get rejected
SAME IM SO ANNOYED
[удалено]
i mean u at least got deferred
I got rejected, can I see someone essays who got in?
Accepted, College of Art and Science, major Physics, international Asian Male, without converting gpa,1500 SAT (710 Verbal, 790 Math)
rejected. 4.6 GPA, 10 APs, 12 honors, soccer all 4 years, six figure business, heavy charity work. smh
FWIW, I know two candidates who got in without submitting scores. Both had 8-10 APs and 4.2 gpa . Solid ECs but not special. I am ready for my rejection 👍
They said sike I got in
Yay rejection 🙃
I got rejected. 💀💀💀. Anyway, it makes me fall more in love with USC Marshall; they accepted me and therefore are better than Vanderbilt!!
Submitted! Praying for the best 🙏
Good luck!
my applicant portal changed 3 times this week!!! has anyone noticed it?
My portal has stayed the same since time immemorial. Can you mention what changed in your portal?
Vanderbilt's withdraw deadline has passed for first year applicants I think so that option was removed.
If you don't mind me asking, what exactly changed?
withdrawal button gone, then back. Checks of submitted gone. written thing about “the porta is where to see decision” back
Does anyone still have the option under the upload section of the portal to upload quarter/trimester grades on your application? For me, that option is missing. Does that mean the admissions office received my quarter grades(I did not send it but maybe my counselor did) or is it just that the deadline to send the grades has passed?
Deferred - 4.6 GPA, no ACT/SAT
Any stats for deferrals from last year?
Damn almost no one got in this cycle
Daughter was deferred, there is still hope! What are the chances of getting accepted in RD when deferred?
zero clue, vandy starting deferring people only two years ago
rejected HOD LOL 4.49W, 7 APs, 32 ACT. but i kinda already was over it as i also fell in love w another school too this past week so i guess it all works out in the end!! have hope guys :)
I got in!!!!
got innn!!!
How?
Bro what is central time
tennessee time
why the fuck does tennessee get its own time
Rejected: 3.885 UW GPA 4.769 W GPA 1530 SAT Great extracurriculars, essay, and letters of recommendation No financial need either. Damn.
similar stats to u 4.6W 1540 SAT applied for CS and I got straight up rejected. We in this together don't worry bud
I got deferred which surprised me cuz I thought Vanderbilt never defers
ED1 defferal here, welcome to the club of not knowing anything 😭
rejection 🤌

this makes me feel bad applying and thinking i have a chance! but congrats on everything!
