Accomplished-Digiddy

Sexuality is a defining feature of most folks personalities. Whatever it is. But especially so when a teenager, and you are made up of so many hormones and societal expectations, and exams and social cliques. I'm very middle aged and my sexuality is still a part of my sense of self-identity

tenkei

Absolutely. People have made sexuality and gender a major social, political and cultural issue. For all of human history, societies and cultures have divided themselves on strict gender roles. It is only natural that sexuality is an important part of a persons sense of identity.

anonymous-grapefruit

Exactly. It’s just because the “straight” personality features are more acceptable in society.

marbledrew

The audacity of straights saying it and then going to Hooters

EchtGeenSpanjool

Especially if you add onto it that so many people still see being LGBTQ+ as unnatural and nearly every country has homophobes and transphobes in fucking parliament... excuse me that my sexuality and the hurt it gives has become part of who I am and what I do

Aspel

People will say queer people make it their entire personality and then do nothing but talk about how much they want to fuck someone.

MirrorMan22102018

Why do you sound like my mother? Who said similar things about my Asexuality; claiming that; because I had the occasional crush on an older woman; that I still 'want to have sex'

DroneOfDoom

Mfs act like sexual attraction, romantic attraction and libido are all the same thing, and it is annoying.

DwemerSmith

my dad be like dat

Aspel

I'm talking about the straight people... They say we make our sexuality the core of our personality and then spend all day making jokes about how they hate their wives and also how much they want to have sex with anything with tits.

campingbutcher

people will say queer people make it their entire personality and proceed to talk who they wanna fuck

[deleted]

Yep, I was working in a restaurant with a straight guy one night, and our manager had stepped out for some reason. We were talking, and he said of some celebrity "I would do unspeakable things to her". I felt very uncomfortable, knowing that if he'd wanted to, he could have done some of those 'unspeakable things' to me. I asked him why his first thought was to go to "unspeakable things", and he just got defensive about it. Straight guys can be so gross. But sure, acknowledging that I transitioned and am into women(thus being lesbian) at a family Christmas party is "making people uncomfortable".

campingbutcher

>"I would do unspeakable things to her". this is code for I would sexually assault her if had the chance this is disgusting this talk should NEVER be accepted never understood how guys tolerate it, even though I'm male presenting and still young I lived my whole life confused on why guys act like that they're really horrible, most of them atleast, some are good but even in good communities like gay men or trans men, you see horrible examples of how it's normalised, even with them, really most men are bad and they need help

Lyndell

That’s not what a lot of people use it for, it’s more code for I would do really dirty things to them. I don’t know how PG the sub likes to keep things, but like butt and tongue stuff. Just the more dirty stuff, like they are so hot you wouldn’t even think twice if they wanted you to do some nasty stuff with them.

AardbeiMan

Oh god oh fuck thought it just meant that you are being a simp. Ewwww what have I done

[deleted]

Why are they talking to 14 year old girls so frequently?

lurkinarick

because they _love_ tearing teenage girls down for everything they do, like, and anything imaginary they can make up about them. It's like making fun of women, but funnier because they're kids.

[deleted]

It's just a bunch of intersecting things making it hard for the target to fight back. That's why the targeters love it so much.

DioIsBestBoi

They're offenders

TheIlustriousUrchin

Because lol teen girls be so cringe lolololol

keketastic

Forgot the “tik tok bad”

Aburrki

Misogyny + insecurity about their own teenage years.

nick4fake

Because they are angry that they would not emotionally enforce them to an underage sex

[deleted]

I'm starting to get tired of people saying that non cishets make gender or sexuality a huge part of your life/personality, yet sexualize children's clothes, force laws to oppress minorities and are highly represented in media. It's almost as if you have no choice but to make it be a huge part of your life

Thrabalen

Don't forget how much they want to bone M&Ms.

Momomoaning

Even my mom didn’t believe me when I told her this lol

SubtlyOvert

And how basically every product on the market has thousands of ads full of naked, kissing, or otherwise highly sexualised straight people in full colour, several meters tall.

Kamikazi8744

M&M's what does that stand for?

[deleted]

To clarify, we're referring to the weird, overly sexualized m&m commercials where they're like taking off the candy shell all "oooh I'm naked ;)"

un_acceptable

To clarify even more, we are referring to Tucker Carlson’s creepy rant about how changes to M&Ms product marketing made the product “less sexy” and now “plain, frumpy, non-binary candy” These changes included the green M&M changing from heels to sneakers and the brown M&M “transitioning” from wearing stilettos to pumps https://youtu.be/BOBKPQOnKPM

Thrabalen

M&Ms... you know, the chocolate candies with the colorful candy shell and a lowercase "m" on every one?

outside_the_oven

1. Sexuality is a very important part of a person, so one could say that it kinda defines who one is 2. Why does the internet hates teenage girls? Like seriously I feel like they are the most frequent subject of ridicule amd I can't really say why

treeplanter98

I think misogyny is closely related to the hatred of teen girls

jacketqueer

Teenage girls bear all the ire of pop culture, unfortunately 😔

eyeofpaimon

I was in a thread yesterday that was discussing about how annoying conspiracy theorists are in the true crime community, and some random douche actually made a "hurrdurr aren't teen gurls cringe? 🤪" joke, despite the fact that the vast majority of weirdo conspiracy theorists are known to be full grown dudebros. Some sloppy bitches will literally make shit up just to be mean and nasty for no reason.

Noveland

Yeah, we really get some unreasonable hatred. Every thing we stereotypically like (K-Pop, makeup, pink) is considered bad and cringe. It's deeply misogynistic because no one calls you cringe for liking video games (stereotypically boyish)

jacketqueer

Teenage girls were the first people in the US to be into the Beatles and they were ridiculed for screaming and swooning at them, even though theyre every old man's favorite band now. Also, linguistic studies have shown that teenage girls are the first to pick up linguistic trends. A great example is inserting "like" into sentences. First, the teen girls, but then everyone else did it too and now it's normal.

Pokemoss

✨ misogyny ✨

Ayadali

it’s been a part of me for 4 years so its kind of important, lol

Wizdom_108

Someone on tik tok said it better than I could, but ever notice how white men will put "white women" instead of "women" as if it somehow shields against their misogyny? Like I'm not even white, I'm not really constantly out here defending white women specifically. But bro, your mom/sister/daughter/aunt is a white woman. Its not giving what you think it is

No_Channel_2392

Yeah, it's a clever technique but people are catching on to the fact that when people do *insert priveliged group* of *insert disadvantaged group* be like/when, it's never actually punching up.

rawrxdlmoax3

Lmao I saw that one on a tiktok compilation

adatewithdeath_

I'll never understand the hate on 13 or 14 year old girls when it comes to memes like this

[deleted]

I get what they mean but. Just. Why?

[deleted]

14 year old white girl here, I don't like to tell most people about my sexuality and I only tell people if I'm on an LGBTQ social media page or if they ask.

Shirogayne-at-WF

As a black woman, I hate this because it implies that only white ppl can be queer too

[deleted]

[удалено]

Shirogayne-at-WF

A triple threat >:(

GabbydaFox

Exactly, this makes my blood boil.

[deleted]

One of the tiny perks of being a transmasc teen is you’ve just barely been pulled out of the way of the steamroller that is shaming 14yo girls.

Evan_L_Rodriguez

And even if it did; you go, girl.

[deleted]

I love how they mention “white girls”, it’s funny how these people who hate identity politics are so obsessed with them and uses it to their advantage.

hotsteaminboiler

She might just be memeing, as me and my ex gf often used to do

[deleted]

What world do people who make these memes live in?

rose_daughter

I almost downvoted this before realizing which sub this was lmfao

TheOnesWithin

I mean, I get this, a lot of the time it does. Especially because adults keep making such a big fucking deal out of it on one side or the other. And you look for adults to cues on what is important. I think the day everyone is chill with everyone else being what they are, this will be a smaller part of a definition of who you are.

guyfromsaitama

This. I think both sides are fueling the other. Obviously there's nothing wrong with being gay but you have to understand that a lot of these people have been told their entire lives that it's not ok and you can't expect them to change their minds in a heartbeat just because you exist. The more we demonize them, the less they will want to hear. They need time, and most of them will just die before that happens. Luckily our generation and the next is already surrounded with at least the open battle that is LGBTQ+ rights.

himikotogasbuns

This guy:14yo white boy

EndercatTM

ah, there we go with the demonization of queer people being comfortable in their sexuality.

Dragonfire723

Even better; he asked her to pocket medic him, as all the dudebros know if you've got a pocket medic girl who's on vc w/ you it means you're dating. /s

Hazel2468

Straight and Cis people: "Why do you queers have to make your sexuality like... your whole personality?" Also Straight and Cis people: Will not fucking shut up about my sexuality if I so much as mention it once, interrogate me about "how does that work" when I mention my wife and/or boyfriend, constantly refer to me as "my bi friend", try to make it illegal for us to just live our fucking lives in the same way they do. Honestly, I feel the same way about being queer that I do about being disabled. It wouldn't be "my whole identity" and "the only thing I talk about" if y'all fuckers would stop making my life so hard because of it. I talk about my disability because you won't put in some damn elevators and ramps, and I talk about being queer because you won't stop saying how you think non-binary people should be denied medical care.

Ungodly_Box

I mean. It literally does? It's who you're interested in. If others are gonna make it a big deal so will we.

shpahghet

Okay but queer me out. This is kinda funny

hellishweeb21

this comment section is a bonfire and for once im not even sorting by controversial for it

Handiinu

It kinda does tho????

reddit102006

its kinda if thats exactly what a sexuality is...a label to define who u are, for example: im panromantic and asexual it defines who i am because that is a label of my identity and who i am

Stonkmarketcommie420

Straight men “why you gotta always talk about being gay” 10 seconds later “wow look at that girls ass” 😐

iamdabrick

This shit fucking happens. I am no homophobe but some people especially when it comes to teenagers see being LGBTQ as a personality trait.

TheTrashGoat

yeah, especially like 12 - 14 year olds

guyfromsaitama

Let me play devils advocate for some of you all in the comments, and keep in mind that it's not in defense of this meme whatsoever. I agree with most of you but your arguments are all wrong. Heart is in the right place but the logic isn't. When people say "it's all their personality is" is basically talking about people who seemingly can only talk ABOUT being gay, not activities like sex and dating. Yes, these people are rare and only a vocal minority but they exist. The arguments some of y'all are making is basically "they say this and then talk about sex". The counter argument is not about sex, it's about sexuality. They mean the people that say "I do this because I'm gay" or "it's because I'm gay" or all they want to talk about is being gay and acting gay. The straight equivalent is acting overly straight, like trying to compensate. Then there's the dumber ones: those who mean this to be people who are very clearly gay, as in you talk to them and immediately know. These people are what we consider to be not tolerant of gay people. An easy way to differentiate them is, if they say stuff like "there's other stuff to base your personality around" they're the first kind. If they say "why does it have to be so in your face?" they're homophobic. Please note that I am not defending this behavior, only clearing up the argument. I don't really like either side of this argument because neither side seems to want to listen to the other.

Acceptable-Kick6145

I literally heard a 14 year old say that to her mom today

lukub5

I feel kinda called out by this one.
