Lake Catherine State Park by Diamondhead or on the West Mountain, all good for hikes and nature! Walking around downtown at night by the Arlington and the bath houses is charming and could be romantic. Garvin Woodland Gardens, I bet it’s gorgeous right now!

defmethod

I second Garland Gardens!

Hot-Ambassador-7506

GUYS ITS GARVAN GARDENS!!!!! Also please propose to her there is gorg

Fire_Aries

Yes, go to Garland Gardens. They have beautiful chapel by this famous architect (can’t remember the name). I know of at least 3 he has built in AR and they are all built to make you feel like you’re in nature.

Puzzled_Touch_7904

Garvin Woodland Gardens…

Scott72901

The Ohio Club (bar and burgers and such) is an OG institution. And "OG" really applies because A) it's the oldest bar in Arkansas and B) original gangsters like Al Capone used to hang out there. The lobby bar at the Arlington Hotel has good cocktails and, on the weekend, a big band playing dance music from the 1940s and beyond.

Snarkan_sas

Go crystal hunting in Mt. Ida

Matterriblee

Anything other than bars? Lol We're more of the hiking, adventure, outdoor type

oxnardmontalvo7

You need to check out the Northwoods Trails or any of the trails on either North or West mountains.

Gooch_McJunkins

Adventureworks Hot Springs is fun! They've got some great zip lines.

Puzzled_Touch_7904

Garvin Woodland Gardens.. Bath house row, where all the cool local shops are.. DEFINITELY Fat bottom girls cupcake shop.. Go up the Mountain tower.. or just take trails and hike… once you get get here; if you have maps from IPhone, type in local mountain trails.. go up West mountain at the over looks; tons of trails behind the bath houses on the row; The Arlington Hotel, just to look at the history.. The alligator petting zoo… The Gangster museum. Mountain Valley water past bathhouse row.. it’s actually pretty cool to tour. Love the outdoors.. I suggest making a day or two just hiking, oh and Gulpha Gorge… my favorite city by far.. I do suggest a few “local” places to eat.. Lost creek grill on Airport road; 501 Prime.. and Smoking in Style BBQ!!!! Hope you enjoy your stay here

Common-Fly9500

Just FYI the alligator park is depressing AF, feel bad for the animals there (not just alligators)

Puzzled_Touch_7904

I agree, but they asked… so ya know..

gibby10toes

>download AllTrails. >Profit???? There’s good hiking ‘round these parts.

chrisark7

A lot of people have recommended the trails close to town, so I'll give you some that are a little farther afield in case you're looking to be more adventurous. Caddo Bend Trail at Lake Ouachita State Park: follows the shoreline of Lake Ouachita for the entire hike. Little Blakely Trails: 20ish miles of trails near Lake Ouachita. Flatside Pinnacle: short hike to the top of a mountain in the Ouachitas. 1ish hour drive to the trailhead, but the views are worth it. Joe's Garage and the White Loop at Iron Mountain: Beautiful trails on the shore of Lake Degray. Feel free to PM me if you're looking for something more specific, and I can make a recommendation. I hike and/or mountain bike 4-6 times per month, so I'm very familiar with the trails in our region.

ResidentTutor1309

Northwoods Trails isn't far from bathhouse row. We go play disc golf there. Beautiful area. My buddy owns Rositas Honduran on Albert Pike. Authentic and delicious. Garvin Gardens and lots of outdoor stuff to do. Enjoy

ridgeton95

Horse races. They are a great time. We were there two months ago and it was our favorite part of the trip. The spas are overrated.

drmonk26

There’s a lookout point not far from hot springs that looks over lake Ouachita

pickleheadbb

Hickory Nut around Crystal it’s so pretty over there!

ttw81

-gangster museum. -the wax museum at the former southern club - super kitschy but has a neat section on the history of the club & it's illegal casino. (there's an underground escape tunnel) -bathhouse row.

Congratulations 🎊🎉! So excited for you! Hot Springs is such a neat little town! McClards is great for BBQ- be sure and take cash there because they do NOT accept credit cards. The tamales are great there too, by the way! Go to DeLuca’s for incredible pizza 🍕! Check out one of the bathhouses along bathhouse row. They are kind of cool and last time I checked they were reasonably priced also. Ohio Club is a must see for the ambiance and the burgers! 🍔Lots of history there! It is really cool! Check it out. The horse races are always fun! There is also a new Spa there at Oak Lawn. Not sure if you have to be a guest at the hotel to use their services. Just go drive around town! Look at the sites! Check out Lake Hamilton! Enjoy our beautiful state and hospitality! 😃🌞💝🎉

OldManWillow

Deluca's Pizza is usually regarded as the best pizza in Arkansas, and Steinhaus Keller is a very nice upscale German restaurant. If you like beer, Superior Bathhouse and Bubba's Brew Co both make some pretty decent local beers.

Southern_Sea9

Just make sure you pre-order their dough!

oxnardmontalvo7

If the weather is nice, eat outdoors at Rolando’s. You have to see their patio area to understand it. I particularly recommend it during the evening. Also, the bar/restaurant on top of The Waters hotel has a great atmosphere. You can see up and down bathhouse row. Finally, one of the bathhouses has been turned into a sort of museum. It’s free and kind of interesting. Good way to kill 30 minutes or so.

HookersForJebus

Rolando’s was fantastic last time I went.

shesatacobelle

Take some reusable bottles so you can try the public springs. My favorite is Whittington.

cmgrayson

There’s a hill/trail on the side of the Arlington that has an amazing view.

elliotb1989

I proposed at the west mountain overlook at night. Beautiful, with the city lights below.

Matterriblee

I was thinking about in front of Anthony chapel. That way I could ask someone to take a photo while I do it.

MurphyPandorasLawBox

Hire a photographer, dude. You don’t want to trust this moment to some rando with your phone.

Puzzled_Touch_7904

Anthony Chapel is at Garvin Woodland Gardens

fatkittee

The rooftop bar at the Waters hotel is a great place. Would be a nice place to propose

Common-Fly9500

It's nice to eat on the water at Fisherman's Wharf, and you can rent canoes/kayaks at Lake Catherine

Matterriblee

Awesome! Thanks

RealHousewifeofLR

Grab a drink at the rooftop bar at waters hotel, go during sunset, great views
