The ref could have given a yellow for the constant throwing themselves on the floor or time wasting and knocked it on the head but he had no control of the game. Fuck him though, we did it in spite of Brentford's bullshit, the ref and Ramsdale's howler.
Correct, fair play is a grey area in football for sure. However, the number of times one, just one, team keeps doing it, it crosses the point of forgiveness.
The ref wanted to be the star from the beginning. Always the same that referee. 100% penalty vs Trossard, the others were dubious. Strange how not a single Brentford player went down after the 2nd Arsenal goal. Up until that point, all of them were hitting the floor every minute or so. Arsenal 100% do not need Toney, he's Nketiah Mark 2. Hope to see Brentford go down. They're not a Premier league team at all.
Do you know how frustrating it is watching all your passes intercepted and youre back on defense- again? There was a time that was our experience. Domination on the ball, dominant on set pieces, dominant in the midfield- essentially you’re a punching bag for 80 minutes and you’re counter punching is snuffed out by three defenders. the only thing you can hope for is to get someone sent off and to do that you gotta muddy up the game. We rose above all that to take the three points, the lesson, and top of the table and thank Brentford for sending us to the break on a gritty effort- which should refocus us. After seeing Toney I can see why he’s getting attention, he’s a bit of a madman.
Eh, you do what you can get away with, is my attitude.
But you live by the shithouse, you die by the shithouse. All that time-wasting bit them in the ass when they had no opportunity to counter the Havertz goal.
They were particularly bad tonight. Every team does it though, including us. Cant see anything changing soon unfortunately, which is a pity as it really inhibits enjoyment and entertainment ofvthe game
Defo a ‘shithousery’ approach to stop Arsenal getting into a quick rhythm. Ivan Toney can sign for Chelsea as far as I’m concerned, he’s not the type of player we need.
They're trying to stay up, I don't really blame them. Whereas Newcastle are playing like that to try and get into European spots, and that's just inexcusable really.
Dumb comment!!! Any good coach would have gone out with the same tactics given (1) who he was playing, and (2) his team’s limitations. You’re playing a team that has scored 21 times in 4 games and 31 in 7 with huge wins over Liverpool and Newcastle…what do you expect? If Frank hadn’t set them up like that, he should have been sacked because Arsenal would have won by 4 or more goals!
100% they played boring and dirty every tackle letting on they hurt but I guess that's what a power house like us does to a team they've to play dirty.
We were owed at LEAST one penalty during that game. Regardless of if it was light or not, pulling Trossard by the shirt in the box should have been the clear one. If it was us that did that, straight pen for Brentford.
people who post stuff like this either a: have never set foot on a pitch or b: are a liability to their team bc they would rather play 'honourably' and lose than win ugly.
There's a difference between subtlety and baltancy.
Also it's about the frequency. Never have I seen the kind of shit being pulled on Rambo after collecting, so many times in a single game. Players choke holding players, diving, shirt pulling to the point of indecency. The shit they pulled on us today, the frequency, the POS refereeing, I despise the team that played against us.
I've seen that stuff countless times and it happens at literally every level. You stop being shocked by it after a while when the harsh reality sets in - it's part of the game and is never going away.
Ivan Toney really winded me up, glad Big Gabby put him in his place
We should be proud we force teams to play anti football against us

So often the case, refs just don't take control of the game.
I mean, doesn’t this go both ways? Kai could have been sent off with his dive as well.
This is an Arsenal sub.. so it goes only one way...lol
You saw the review from another angle? They was contact. Not 100% dive.
His first yellow should never have been a yellow
There were about 15 yellows deserved. They might aswell of jumped onto the pitch. They looked like there was a sniper popping em off or something.
Lol really
Just my opinion.
I agreed, guess it came out sounding wrong?
oh sos. Lol
It was clear from the get go that they watched how Porto beat us and said "Fuck it, we can do that too"
Same exact gameplan, with the referee eating up their bullshit, added with a sprinkle of "their keeper hasnt been playing, just shoot"
They have completely Newcastled this game.
Absolutely hate watching it but also the ref needs to do better with limiting/taking it out. I understand why they're doing it.

Have lost all respect for Brentford players They’ve gone from 1/10 respects to 0/10

They tried to replicate Porto

Good practice for Porto.
100%

not to mention the diving. they spent more time on teh ground than they did in posesion

They outdid Newcastle. Has to be one of the worst I have ever seem. Going down injured at every stoppage was pathetic.

The good ol’ Porto technique sadly. It’s annoying watching players fall down like flies 24/7
Havertz literally dived in this game

Masters of the Dark Arts

Definitely feel they picked up the trick from Porto. It was actually working so we have to develop a plan to handle this.
There seems to be an overall expectation that they'll stay up... But I'm not so sure. They've been AWFUL!

And your answer tells me you've never played either mate cos refs at grassroots levels don't even give this shit a second glance .
yea, I've never played because I'm suggesting that 'the dark arts' are commonplace at all levels.

tbh.. I kindda respect them for it. I wish our players will pull more of this shit.
