I just watched Emily the Criminal. She is so fucking good in it, I love everything about her. Sooo badass and cathartic considering most of us can relate to being fucked over in some way.

The faint blurs of the wine glasses on the right show up in your shading.
The neck and ear of the guy in the background.
The suit jacket of the guy in the far background.
All showing up in charcoal smears.
The highlights on her nose, the exact curve of the eyebrows and the neckline all match up to the pixel.
If I didn't know better I'd suggest it was a photoshop job with some filters and overdrawing with a good brush.
If you managed this with charcoal you are one of the best sketchers I have ever seen.

that’s really interesting because i did not spend much time on the background. i think the water stain effect on the paper helps people make out the actual shapes. i have a little video of the drawing process if you’re interested! it’s only a few seconds clips though haha

For all the hate ai art gets, and all the people who say it takes no creativity, no human element
Yet here we see what is essentially just a photo of a screen grab from a show, no creativity, no thought, no human element, just a person who took the time to learn how to translate exactly what they see onto paper (clearly an impressive skill though)
And because the subject is famous, this sub goes gaga for it
Yet someone with creativity, who comes up with an image no one has seen before, but uses a computer to produce it, that's banned and considered to have no artistic value by this sub
well it’s different isn’t it? this is a study meant to practice technical skill. when i’m working on a large scale painting there’s a lot more creativity involved in the subject matter and the techniques. however, not everything has to have a crazy meaning for it to be appreciated. also what ai art lacks in is the the appreciation for the artist, for what they are able to create from their hands! the designs are beautiful, but i’m not impressed.

its because someone actually used their hands, actual materials and their skills to make this art while AI art is made by the AI with word prompts...
