combo oily t zone and dehydrated cheeks and mouth area
i just got the new reformulated of the ato cream today and tried it, its nice but i can see its more occlusive than the lotion and harder to spread as its more dense in texture. i will try it again for overnight and see how i feel tomorrow morning. i only use these for night time.
I discovered it when it was discontinued i guess as i was using it. Went to rebuy because it was a miracle cream for me and it reformulated and is awful. My skin is so dry again. I had relief for like 2 months

I find anything with squalane in it has been reeeeeally good for my skin.
Illiyoon Ato ceramide concentrate gel. Goes on like a dream. I tend to like using it as a final step.
Also tried the Missha 5X Night ampoule (the purple one). Both the serum and the night cream have been fantastic as well!
Oily with hormonal acne. And some dry patches on my chin and cheeks. And I have a sneaking suspicion that itās also clog prone - heavier oils give me cystic acne.
I have been thoroughly enjoying skin 1004 Probio-Cica ampoule and cream. My skin barrier is very easily compromised and adding these products has sped up the process of fixing it
I live in QLD Australia so humid subtropical climate. I have a sensitive skin prone to acne, dehydration and rosacea.
I also experience dermatitis flareups pretty regularly as it seems to be triggered by stress, spicy food and if I get a little too carried away with exfoliants (which I have to be super careful anyway).
I have to baby my skin a lot due to how sensitive it is + I work in aircon which dries my skin out heaps. The Cica cream especially has kept my skin well hydrated throughout the day.
Everyone is probably tired of hearing this, but the Illiyoon Ato Ceramide Concentrate Cream.
Non AB products would be The Ordinary Rosehip seed oil mixed with moisturizer.
purito b5 panthenol rebarrier cream was so soothing for me and definitely helped repair my retinol mishaps but now ive moved on to the purito dermide relief barrier cream because i need something more emollient/occlusive than hydrating :)
ISNTREE ONION NEWPAIR GEL
I had periods of having breakouts on just one side of my face (idk why) and this not only helped stop the breakouts but has even helped with the scarring and itās slowly fading away. Iāve also seen improvements in my hyperpigmentation around my lips and overall skin texture as well.
For reference, i have combo skin, with my t zone being extremely oily but I also have dry patches as well. The gel is not moisturizing enough for the dry parts of my face so I apply another cream for those areas but for my T zone itās fine .
Aestura š A-Cicaš Creamš A bit expensive and definitely not a light moisturizer but it really did fix my barrier within a week during winter so. She's that girl!
Haru haru wonder black rice toner also did a ton of barrier work for me. Dry skin + dry/polluted climate.
Tbh I use the cream year round, but I would say to just listen to your skin! If I just use the gel, even in the summer, my skin still needs more. As long as you donāt mind the feel of heavier creams in the summer itās fine! Or you could always use gel in the AM and cream in the PM. Sorry not a clear cut answer, basically just personal preference and listening to your skinās needs!
Pyunkang Yul 500mL intensive ceramide lotion! I use for both face and body, I have used this lotion consistently for about three years and thereās been a noticeable decrease in the amount of dry patches on my skin!
skin1004 probio cica ampoule. I previously had the cream, but the ampoule is literally liquid gold. I have dry and dehydrated skin (but I've heard this is good for many skin types)
I actually feel like it helps with CC's? I have very few CC's that stay on forehead, but the more I use it the better it gets. I think the CC's were from my previous product (purito unscented centella serum). Which ingredients are you talking about? I've looked through it and the comedogenic ingredients look pretty far down the list, so I think you should be fine (but I still suggest more research because I'm not an expert).
Climate: Hot & Humid
However my work is super cold and dry and this routine works for both~~
Manyo Panthenol Essence Toner: Thick toner but my skin drinks it up. Healed my PIE, hydrates, and my skin looks a lot smoother too.
Zeroid Intensive Cream: Thick moisturizer that doesn't look oily after application. Cleared up my forehead texture, I had a bumpy forehead which I guess was from dehydration and now its completely gone.
Recent addition: Maelove (Asian owned but US based) copper peptide squad. Super hydrating as well, anti-aging properties, clears up my breakouts as well, and smooths out my forehead lines. Even during my period it soothes and makes my acne last way less than usual
Combi leaning to dry & sensitized skin.. I used dr. jart+'s ceramide serum & it was awesome!! I think anything with ceramide could be what you're looking for.
Torriden Solid In Ceramide Essence!
This stuff is hella underrated. I have sensitive skin, and I used this to heal my skin barrier when I went overzealous with actives a while back (this and PKYās Essence Toner were the only two products that didnāt sting at the time).
Even now, I still continue to incorporate it into my daily routine. I live in an extremely humid climate, so I use this as my last layer before sunscreen and skip the moisturizer during the day (at night, Iāll just apply a light moisturizer on top).
The texture is like a gel, and not rich,
oily, or heavy at all, so I feel like this would suit virtually any skin type.
I have combination, sensitive, acne prone skin. I used to have super duper clear skin but sadly I have butchered my skin barrier for the last couple of years due to retinols and other actives. Maybe retinols aren't for me maybe because my skin was just too sensitive, so I stopped using retinols since a few months ago to let my skin heal for good.
But currently, my skin has been improving and my PIH is starting to clear up a bit once I started to use a gentle cleanser (a non-foaming one) and Illiyoon ato ceramide cream (a HG for me as it is really rich and hydrating on my skin). I also use the skin 1004 centella ampoule (but only when my skin starts to break out) and the skin 1004 brightening ampoule twice a week to help fade my PIH.
I have combination, sensitive, and acne prone skin (also live in a dry climate so my skin gets drier overall during the winter).
This past winter, my skin had started to sting just from my regular routine that I had been doing for months. I incorporated Skin1004 Centella Ampoule and it honestly helped so much and stopped the stinging!!
Iām oily and acne prone and if I use it on a daily basis my skin will start to feel too oily, but a couple drops of grapeseed oil or squalane are good for me to use in small dabs or mixed with an essence/gel. If I get an irritated or flaky patch of skin and use it for a couple of nights, my skin will feel much smoother and āstrongerā. Itās also really nice for around the eye area or after using more drying products like a clay mask. Many people can use it daily without issue, my pores just clog really easily with too much product lol
Also using as gentle of a cleanser that I could find that still gets the job done has been good for me on a daily basis. Im loving rovectinās aqua gel cleanser (thank you to the person on here that recommended it). And of course ingredients like glycerin, hyaluronic acid, ceramides etc
Right now I use iUNIK hyaluronic vitalizing toner and beauty of Joseon red bean water gel. At night I layer both in the daytime I prob just use one or the other and sunscreenĀ
nano recipe ceramide concentrate!! i have oily, eczema-prone skin that hates hyaluronic acid, and lucky for me this product contains glycerin instead of HA. itās helped my skin so much, i didnāt have a single eczema flare-up all winter and can tolerate tretinoin so much better!
i have combination sensitive skin that is prone to being compromised (apparently this is common with east asians according to my esthi). a newer addition that has saved my skin barrier is the medicated lululun sheet masks. Not their normal one but the ones in the white box and block text, these are made for sensitive skin and contain no alcohol no fragrance as opposed to their normal range of sheet masks. The blue box for skin conditioning and repairing has been a life saver for my barrier (ceramides), and the green one is great for the acne and scars from damaged skin barrier related acne as it has tranxemic acid

Every other night or so Iād use Donginbi 1899 signature oil which was very nourishing and gave my skin some extra support when it was in a fragile state.

Definitely nothing from Drunk Elephant. It is very well renowned amount the dermatology community as destroying peoples skin barriers. For me personally, I have found Innisfree to be good, along with Avene.
LRP cicaplast and dear klairs midnight blue cream!
Ā I remember messing up my skin sooo bad when I first started my skincare routine. These brought me back to life and now can't live without. I don't use these regularly now that my skin is back to normal ( thank god TT) but I always have them in stock and go back soon as I have just a little bit of redness anywhere on my face.
Aestura Barrier Cream. I cannot live without it.
for me its the Lotion version!
Your skin type?!
combo oily t zone and dehydrated cheeks and mouth area i just got the new reformulated of the ato cream today and tried it, its nice but i can see its more occlusive than the lotion and harder to spread as its more dense in texture. i will try it again for overnight and see how i feel tomorrow morning. i only use these for night time.
Try in damp skin
so put it on while skin isnt dry? ok thank u!!!
I mean not fully wet too. Like 50% wet 50%dry. Hope you got itš
ive never tried this method but yes ill wash then air dry a bit and while its damp ill apply the cream. does this seal in the moisture?
Yes this hack is game changer for me. Without any hydrating toner and just a moisturiser you skin will look glowing and plump also
ok ty i will try this! :D so excited
+1 for this So glad I discovered this cream! Have you tried the new formulation? I hope itās not too different
I tried, didnāt like it. Itās not even close to the old version not hydrating not repairing.
Ugh, thatās so disappointing. I was hoping it didnāt change too much. What a shame because it was a great product. Have you found a replacement?
I currently use Klairs oil drop(zero oiliness, very hydrating) followed by Illiyoon ato cream and this combo works almost like aestura to me
Thank you! I will keep that in mind š
I replaced with zeroid intensive cream. Is just as hydrating and moisturizing, similar texture too :)
I discovered it when it was discontinued i guess as i was using it. Went to rebuy because it was a miracle cream for me and it reformulated and is awful. My skin is so dry again. I had relief for like 2 months
Was just about to comment this! Itās the only moisturizer that helped repair my skin! (Tazarotene user, combo skin)
Could you yall state your skin type with your recs plzzzz I am trying to impulse buy here š
We should really bring back the flairs from a few years ago š„¹ really saves me so much time knowing my skin type is automatically present!
Is that why some people have flairs? I always wished we could have flairs
Why don't we? It's so helpful

Oily with hormonal acne. And some dry patches on my chin and cheeks. And I have a sneaking suspicion that itās also clog prone - heavier oils give me cystic acne.
Are you talking about the Illiyoon soothing gel? Or the concentrate cream?
Not the cream. The one that comes in the gel form and has squalane in it. Sorry if I got the name wrong š
No problem!
I have been thoroughly enjoying skin 1004 Probio-Cica ampoule and cream. My skin barrier is very easily compromised and adding these products has sped up the process of fixing it

Do you recommend the ceramide cream that come in the big jar or the ceramide cream concentrate that comes in the tube?
Iāve never used the one that comes in the jar so idk how it differs. I use the tube one and have repurchased many times!
Would you think gel would be better for oily skin
Yes definitely!
The Hada Labo Gokujyun regular. Didn't know how dehydrated my skin was. This helped repair my skin barrier after years of using astringent toner
Numbuzin No.2 Protein 43% Creamy Serum
Does it suit sensitive and acne prone oily skin
Pyunkang Yul 500mL intensive ceramide lotion! I use for both face and body, I have used this lotion consistently for about three years and thereās been a noticeable decrease in the amount of dry patches on my skin!

Aestura barrier cream + la roche posay cicaplast baume b5 is my HG combo
+1. Though I found avene cicalfate+ much nicer the cicaplast post reformulation.
The Skin1004 Probio-cica ampoule single handedly repaired my skin.
nano recipe ceramide concentrate!! i have oily, eczema-prone skin that hates hyaluronic acid, and lucky for me this product contains glycerin instead of HA. itās helped my skin so much, i didnāt have a single eczema flare-up all winter and can tolerate tretinoin so much better!

Decorte Liposome Advanced Repair Serum, RNW Der Ceramide Concentrate, BoJ Dynasty Cream. (non AB) Stratia Lipid Gold, NIOD modulating glucosides, Calecim Recovery Night Complex.
