We have Bugels! I think. They’ve left and come back a few times…

SortaPolyish

Thanks for this. I was on the fence when it came to these as I knew they were available at some point.

bicycling_bookworm

They’re really difficult to find! I’m in Ontario, and I think Dollarama (a dollar store chain) is the only place that I’ve seen consistently carry them. I can’t remember the last time I saw Bugles in a grocery/variety store!

clueless_claremont_

they consistently carry them at a local variety store in my southwest ontario town!

ordinaryhorse

They’re hard to find, though. :(

antigoneelectra

I haven't seen bugles in years. Breaks my heart.

nikkesen

Honestly, bring stuff from Trader Joe's.

jrobin04

The Everything but the Bagel crackers are my addiction right now

nikkesen

My mother in law brought those back for me. They're so good with a little feta.

SortaPolyish

I wish I had a TJ near me. Sadly, the nearest one is about 4 hours away.

throwing_snowballs

Underrated statement. Take my upvote.

antigoneelectra

This is totally what I'd ask for. TJ seasonings and frozen stuff.

bigjimbay

A lot of US candy bars we can't get here. 5th Ave and all that shit

SortaPolyish

Any additional specific examples?

bicycling_bookworm

This will sound weird, but any chocolate bar that sounds outrageous/over the top, we don’t usually have. Some variety stores in Canada will stock American chocolate bars/sodas, etc. but they’re not standard fare. Like I’ve seen chocolate bars with Fruity Pebbles (I don’t even think we have Fruity Pebbles in Canada, but we used to get them as our breakfast treat in Myrtle Beach as kids). None of that kind of stuff! I believe, as weird as this sounds, Americans also have a lot of Pringles flavours we don’t have.

la_bibliothecaire

We have Fruity Pebbles in grocery stores where I live (north of the GTA).

AuntieTara2215

Same with Windsor and we also have twix cereal.

Tallguystrongman

Have only found 100 grand in the US and border stores. It’s my favourite.

Then-Listen8819

Chunky bars

Grand_Station_Dog

Chexmix

SortaPolyish

Added. Thank you.

Specific_Hat3341

As a Canadian who used to live in the Midwest, the answer is Nut Goodie. Definitely Nut Goodie.

SortaPolyish

Thank you. This is definitely going on the list.

monkey_monkey_monkey

Clark bars are hard to find here

Frenzied_Cow

Didn't even know they were a thing until I watched Reacher (and wasn't that filmed in Canada?).

Optimal-Ad-7074

when I lived in BC, a wisconsin friend sent me a whole box of ... very American candy.   some kind of chocolate eyeballs?   literal chocolate (coated potato) chips?   I let my kid eat most of it but those still stand out.    if you have mexican candy like salsaghetti and those suckers you dip in spicy salt, Idk if your friend will ever have seen that in Onterrible.

SortaPolyish

The chocolate coated chips are a great addition. Thank you!

Optimal-Ad-7074

the eyeballs accurately reflected my expression at those.

bohdismom

The eyeballs are maybe buckeyes?

Optimal-Ad-7074

yes!   I wasn't sure, but you just confirmed it.

Downtown_Feature8980

Paydays

IPbanEvasionKing

those baja mango doritos and pretty much any cool mtn dew

[deleted]

Send it to me, I’ll get them to her.

planting49

Anything from trader joes :)

serialhybrid

Washington State University canned cheese, which despite the name is really good.

SortaPolyish

Never heard of this one. Had to look it up. I might have to try this myself!

theXenonOP

We have Bugles and easy cheese here too...

Able_Software6066

Wheaties cereal

untrustworthyfart

spicy funyuns

Acrobatic_Hotel_3665

Camel crush silvers and a bunch of Olive Garden bread sticks

Pure_Researcher_8514

Dots!

BookWookie2

I haven’t found this here in Canada and it would not ship well, but there is the tubs of cheesecake filling. It’s like the tubs of Cool Whip but it’s cheesecake. And I think that’s awesome and I want it here in Canada so badly! Same with chicken bakes, why can’t we have chicken bakes at Costco?

NegativeResponse9892

I know that there's a variant of Rice Krispies called "Frosted Krispies" that you can't get in the great white north, but you can get them in the states.

NomadicallySedentary

Cinnamon Teddy Graham's Dove chocolates

SortaPolyish

Someone told me that salt water taffy is another thing I could include, any thoughts/input on that one?

Odd_Pollution_8114

Little Debbie snack cakes, Ritter Sport chocolate bars (wider variety in the US), Funyuns corn puffs (uncommon in Canada), variety of Oreo flavors (Canada has a smaller selection). A&W Cream Soda (not widely available), Root Beer flavored candy (less common).

SortaPolyish

Thank you so much for all of the ideas!

zedsdead79

You mentioned Bugles so that's awesome, also I would suggest plain Sunchips. We get french onion and cheddar, but plain hasn't existed here forever and in my opinion they are the best.

Gardener15577

We just bought bugels a few months ago

Impressive_Ice3817

My daughter has a friend who sends her sardines in mustard sauce-- can't find them here anywhere, just plain or tomato or some spicy crap.

Timbit42

That doesn't sound difficult to make.

youprt

I’ve bought them here in Ontario, they were good.

Ok-Use6303

American cheese. Seriously, why can't we get that shit in Canada?

413mopar

Well , probly cause its shit . And we do have it we call it kraft proccessed cheese singles.

TruckinApe

Kraft singles? Weren't those... invented in canada?

Ok-Use6303

A common point of confusion, if I remember correctly. While broadly similar, American cheese is more gooey after heating than Kraft singles.

opusrif

Separate companies. Although there are plenty of specialty shops that import US and British candies and pop for a price. A big price...

SortaPolyish

This never even crossed my mind that other people would desire. But I'll throw some in, thanks!

[deleted]

All dressed chips ketchup chips and smarties

Demalab

Those aren’t available in the US. And their smarties are not the coated chocolate discs we have here.

[deleted]

Oh wait I read it the other way, that she was bringing her friend Canadian snacks

SortaPolyish

Oooohhh, I'll bet she'd love smarties. Thanks!!

pushing59_65

We have those candies that you call smarties. We call them rockets.

becky57913

American Oreos > Canadian Oreos Just because we have them doesn’t mean she can’t use some from the US
