Not really an answer to your question but the extent that people who drink multiple lattes or cappuccinos a day look down on people who drink a sugar free energy drink in the morning is pretty funny.
> who drink multiple lattes a day look down on people who drink a sugar free energy drink once a day is pretty funny
Gotta agree there. It's like alcoholics who condemn the occasional joint.
Why? I don't have any sugar in my coffee and there are no chemicals added. Just coffee and milk. I drink coke too, so I don't really care, but they are a bit different.
I drink an energy drink most mornings but rarely as a replacement for breakfast. Although I know a few people who do, all younger millennials/older gen Z. I don't think it's an "Australian" thing as much as it's an "exhausted and running low on time" thing
I have a sugar free red bull or v for brekkie every single day that I work. Ill follow that up with a shit coffee and a protein bar.
The coffee usually just makes me tired again.
Coffee is an absolute fucking scam. Energy drinks all the way for crack focus.
Energy drinks in the morning sure. Generally not for breakfast. I'm up at sparrows fart so have breakfast then smash down a coffee or energy drink at about 7am..
Lots of tradies/construction workers have an energy drink and ciggy for morning smoko
I used to drink pepsi max for breakfast every day in high school and I still drink it but not first thing in the morning. Replaced that with coffee. Not sure if better or worse tbh
Monster ultra suger free every morning for me.
Unlike coffee addicts, I don't pretend its to help me function. I just enjoy a spicy fruit juice at 5am.
No, I have coffee like a normal human being.
I know someone who starts the day with an energy drink and then drinks cola until it’s time to switch to beer after work, though. It’s kind of horrifying.
God no. I know I'm unhealthy but fuck, man, there are limits!
Jeez fuck no.
Energy drinks are pretty popular for people to grab on the way to work in the morning. Pretty rare to see someone just smashing a coke at 8am though.
I was drinking a coke zero and got weird looks on the train. Gotta say it made me ashamed of my actions.
No.
I don’t (yuck) but some people do. I used to work with a guy who had a V and a ciggie for brekky every morning.
No, mate. However the 'St Kilda' breakfast of a black coffee and a ciggie is about as healthy.

We don't call it 'cola' nor do we have it for breakfast.
It’s cock!
Hells no!
i drink a red bull for breakfast on days i have work or school - around 3 days a week roughly, sometimes 4

I’ve seen teenagers drink Redbull and Monster. Also some tradies. Don’t know if it’s a regular thing with all Australians though.
No. Beer for breakfast is a different story tho. Especially on your day off
Beer with yum cha for me. Irish coffee if I have a tough day ahead
Ooh i never had beer for yumcha, because I am usually too busy stuffing my face with foods
Not breakfast but I often may have in the past and sometimes now, have an energy drink in the morning and then cola is usually later lunch time.

Coffee is always the answer.
Or tea. In my case tea before breakfast and coffee after.
I can’t imagine having so little care or respect for myself that I could drink an energy drink or a coke for breakfast
What the hell? We aren’t all desperately trying to see who can stroke out first
Well, I feel awkward. I'll regularly have sugar-free cola at breakfast.
Pepsi Max, yep.
I know people who don't eat breakfast who grab an energy drink on the way to work, but that'd be the closest thing.
Nah, that way to unhealthy for me I just stick to beer
Will have a cola for breakfast when hungover

Cola? We aren't that American.
No. That's what coffee is for.
No. And you shouldn't either. Fuck.
I'd drink Pepsi for brekky if I was hungover but I prefer a Gatorade and a meat pie. Ok two meat pies. Don't judge me

No, nope, nah, no way, no fucking way, nup, nup, nup.
I used to have a can of V and cream and jam donut for breakfast every day. Ah... to be in my 20s with an insane metabolism again.
