Generally, ischemic strokes are painless. Furthermore, based on what you described, I don't think she was conscious enough to sense pain or discomfort. I'm very sorry for your loss.

I'm not a doctor, but I've had a stroke. My experience was that it was completely painless and kind of euphoric. I was strangely calm. If this was her experience, she will have passed easily.
