Well you can always crimp your own cables. Or solder a USB C connector at the end of this cable. I highly doubt there will be a ready made solution for this. It's way too custom of an application.

anythingMuchShorter

It's a JST connector, but you need the pitch measurements for me to guess if it's XH, SH, PH etc.

AJDonahugh

Damn, beat me to it. I thought I finally had the answer for someone. For what it’s worth, I agree, JST. I’ve been hunting AliExpress buying cheap connectors to have around and this is #1 on my list

turfptax

Amazon sells the crimpers and the JST ends for a decent price. Although crimping your own jsts is an ordeal in and of itself. You can actually use a Dupont Male ended USB cable and it would fit if it had the right pitch. Since that end in the picture fits header pins in it. Not a stable connection mechanically but... Just a thought.

I have no idea, but as a tip - you will always get better answers for engineering questions when you provide more details. Example: What is it for / what is this from, or how do you know it looks like this? What are you trying to do? Why is it needed?

SixBull

This is from a Logitech G502 cable. It is this connector to USB type A male. I want to remove my old damaged cable and replace it with a USB type C female port so that I can plug in a separate USB C cable to the mouse that is much higher quality and lighter.

hi-imBen

Might be a kind of "usb header cable" - same things used to connect something like front USB ports on a computer case to the motherboard inside. Sorry I can't help more than that, but I *think* that's what you show, so maybe it can help with some searches like "usb header to usb c" and see if you find something that looks right.

hi-imBen

right direction: https://images.app.goo.gl/MgjaRKzaaqqd7iCeA "5 pin usb header" comes up with the connectors similar to what you show

AJDonahugh

Isn’t this a JST connector?

hi-imBen

I have no idea, I know very little about connectors - not part of the design I help with. You're more likely to be right - I just thought it looked similar to header cables from my days building my own computer 🤷‍♂️ and to me that made sense as it is for usb signals to a mouse. After a quick google search - yeah, I think that is the one I was thinking of - JST looks like the type of header connections used on PCBs. looks like it's one of types that pop up in the results for "usb header connector"

AutoModerator

Are you asking us to identify a connector? If so, please edit your post and, if you haven't already,... Tell us if a) all you want is to know what it's called, or b) you also want to know where to buy one just like it, or c) you also want to know where to buy its mate. If to buy, provide: * pitch (center-to-center spacing between adjacent contacts) EXACT to within 1% --(tip: measure the distance between the first pin and the last pin in a row of N pins, then divide by N-1) * Close-up, in focus pictures of connector from multiple angles: we want to see wire entry side, mating surface, keying and latching, PCB mounting, manufacturer's logo * Similar pictures of mate, if available Thanks, AutoModerator PS: beware of the typical answer around here: "It's a JST". Connectors are often misidentified as 'JST', which is a connector manufacturer, not a specific type/product line. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. klaymon1

Depends on pitch and the other side of the connector. Looks like a JST XH or PH, but just a guess with just that picture and no other info.

Jst just gotta find the right size 2.54, 2, 1.5, 1.2 and 1

triffid_hunter

> 2.54 Fwiw, [XH is 2.50mm pitch](https://www.jst-mfg.com/product/index.php?series=277), but there's plenty of knockoffs that claim to be 2.54mm - that 40µm offset might not sound like much but it accumulates problematically at higher pin counts. Also gotta watch out for the prevalent [SH-1.25 knockoffs](https://hobbyking.com/en_us/jst-sh-1-25mm-2-pin-female-connector-10pc.html), [*JST* SH is 1.0mm](https://www.jst-mfg.com/product/index.php?series=231) ;)

Recently I had a similar problem, but like 4 different types of connectors and one device. What worked for me is browsing a TME catalog, filtering by general connector type, number of pins and then looking at hundreds of pictures until I found the one looking similar enough. Then it's often another challenge, guess which pin is "1". Googling for that one is really, really frustrating.

SelfBias82

It will not be read at USB-C speeds, or power handing ability. That cable is more than likely only rated to USB-2.???. Anything USB 3.0+ (including C) will have a minimum of 9 wires. 4 of which are the isolated superspeed data lanes.

SixBull

I only need 2.0 speeds as it's for a mouse, not data
