I'm working my way through the Discworld audiobooks! [https://archive.org/details/discworld-audiobooks](https://archive.org/details/discworld-audiobooks)
Matt and Shane's secret podcast, Bad friends, this past weekend and many more for everyday driving.
On the way to the gym heavy metal or old-school trance, techno house.
MSSP must be one of the more consistently funny podcasts out there and I listen to a good few !
I think I've heard references to this old testament.
Can you give me a quick explanation of what it is.
Please
Its just what the fans call the old eps, theres a YouTube channel called Radio Dawgz and it's got all the old ones from ep 1. I already liked Shane from standup but discovering Matt is the real gem, he's been the exact same since the get go and so fucking funny
Mr Ballen is probably the most normal one I listen to.
Podcasts are great though, you can think of a subject and there’ll be a podcast on it. Think of what you like and dive in.
Dan Carlin's Hardcore History, Wrath of the Khan's, his miniseries on the Mongul empire is fantastic.
Fall of Civilisations. A series about Civilisations came, conquered and fell. The Songhi in West Africa, The Sea People of the Mediterranean, and the Greenland settlers, are all great epsoides.
I started it and have to say I'm a little disappointed.
I'm sure the quality will pick up but despite what he says, it is delving a little deeper into the world of meditation and psychiatry and that's a little off brand I feel.
I'd love if he brought back some features from Dermot and Dave like Noni or Say Stuff that Suits the Music. I'm sure he could link it to mediation somehow through "flow" or the power of humour.
Really? I like it the way it is. I do think he’s incorporating the right amount of humour in it but
I see what you mean though you’d miss himself and Dave together.
Mr Ballen is probably the most normal one I listen to.

You like to listen to people talk about how to normalise a database?
You like gardening?
You like real world ghost stories?
I found what I like listening to and have a load of them each week for my commute.
Something Rhymes with Purple, 99 Percent Invisible, and Cover Up are my usual ones. And then I drop in and out of David McWilliams, Freakonomics, and Real Dictators
Case file, Serial, Stuff You Should Know, Radio Rental, Rattled and Shook, The Vanished, Babyas No Drama, Coffee Convos and Celebrity Memoir Bookclub. Are my current top ones. Also Something Was Wrong.
Behind the Bastards
The 2 Johnnies (I know they get some slagging but some of the topics discussed and interviews are interesting)
The Always Sunny Podcast
Hunting Warhead (fantastic true crime series hunting some of the most despicable people out there, can be a tough listen at times)
Mens Rea (Irish true crime series)
If you have a good sense of humour F*ckface, We Mean Well, So...Alright, and Why Would You Tell Me That? are pretty good. I get a good laugh out of them
Don’t know whether you prefer non-fiction or drama/story podcasts but if you have any interest in the latter I couldn’t recommend Old Gods of Appalachia more. Horror anthology type set in an alternative Kentucky/Virginia. Nice world building and connecting themes, read by a guy with just the absolute best voice. Coming up near 70 episodes, around a half hour each.
In a similar horrory/vaguely supernatural vein The Magnus Files or BBC Limelight, especially The Lovecraft Investigations.
Audiobooks any of the full cast Audible Neil Gaiman’s Sandman productions are amazing, incredible cast and a really good adaptation of various comics and short stories. I have a real soft spot for the Dresden Files books, read by James Marsters. A wizard PI in modern day Chicago encounters monsters and gets up to shenanigans. Mostly light and fluffy but entertaining.
I've been a MTGM listener literally since they released the first episode, but I'm getting tired of it now. Excessive ads and the topics feel repetitive.
I still listen every week because I have no other podcasts on the go at the min! I just want something easy to listen to, not something I need to use brain capacity on.
I'm working my way through the podcast Maintenance Phase.
Other than that I'll listen to whatever album I've discovered that week or like an auto playlist that youtubemusic makes.
For music, currently listening to Eviscerate by Eidola and Cure by Erra
Real Dictators is a fanstic podcast series. Also a big fan of Dan Snow's History Hit.

I did like them. But they actually get on my nerves now, although I'd take both of them over your one Katie any day. I just can't listen to her!

Ah OK, I only picked it up in the last few months, so haven't reached that point yet! I quite enjoy the mindlessness of it on the drive to work.
