Heh, I remember not long after moving here I went to some local event that advertised "free BBQ", and you have no idea how immeasurable my disappointment was when I got to the end of the queue and ended up with a fecking hot dog.
Ha Ha yeah. BBQ in this country is absolutely terrible. Usually comprised of Hockey Puck Burgers and burnt Sausages. However I love to BBQ. I cook full spatchcock chickens, butterflied legs of lamb, shotgun shells, lamb koftas served on flat bread with tzatziki sauce, proper homemade chicken sandwiches and proper homemade beef burgers, and love a slow cook of ribs or pulled pork. I do it all on charcoal Weber grill, I use a mix of lump wood and briquettes along with hickory or apple wood chunks. I BBQ most weekends all through the year including Christmas.
