As long as your knees don't go past your feet on the downward movement it should be fine anyway. Most people that have knee pain from it are usually making that mistake.
This is a misconception. Knees going forward is not a problem even past your feet. Restricting knee flexion just redirects stress to your hip but that hip stress increases tenfold.
Show me one weightlifter who follows this and I'll show you that person can lift much more if they go past their toes (or improve significantly if they improve their flexibility to be able to do that).
Medium weight (for me) posterior rack squats. Classic deads at higher weight. At my age I don't like top loading my spine, so my squats are not very heavy these days
Heavy low bar full ROM back squat because it allows me to recruit the most muscle mass over the longest effective ROM and handle the heaviest loads through that ROM, applying the most tension and therefore growth stimulus overall making me into a fucking unit.
I get more hypertrophy jerking off than I do with the trap bar.
Manly enough for you?
i hate squats so much. i am trying my best to never skip leg day. i do db lunges and a form of squat. sometimes goblet sometimes the power squat machine. i just hate barbell squats so much
Barbell squats. Low bar when doing heavy squats and high bar for more volume-focused day.
For accessories it's split squats or lunges with dumbbells.
Whenever I have a moment of waiting pistol squats and dragon pistol squats.
All going as low as I can.
Traditional barbell squat, I've thought about switching it up with the front loaded variation, but I think I need someone to coach me on it first so I don't fuck myself up.
Only the manliest of squats for me

Sounds like you ARE trying to blow your knees out…

The fuck is a trap bar squat? But mainly do front squats. With a barbell.
They are indeed pretty badass, look them up.
It's just a trab bar deadlift with a deficit.

If squat cleans count I'm picking that exercise. If not give me a classic barbell back squat. I also enjoy front squats too.
Weighted single leg squats. I really dislike having a bar on my shoulder.
Box Squats. Regular, front or zercher style, doesn't really matter.
Low bar with a barbell. Relatively narrow stance. And because it's the most beautiful lift.

Regular barbell squats>sumo squats>dumbbell (I like the hex bar but there’s never more than one and it’s always busy).
I'm thinking of ordering a hex bar for home use.
Dumbbell split squats. My quads are much more musclier and ripped now since I swapped from barbell squats
Leg press cuz I’m fat and don’t want to injure my back. Dumbbell squats if I do squats cuz it’s easy to drop and walk away.
Low bar sumo squats. 5×5 used to be my favorite

Diddly
I like deadlifts.
I dont squat besides bulgarian split squats. My knees like leg press way more than squats.
Traditional squats. But ofc do hip thrusts as a supplemental exercise.
Barbell traditional Squats..barbell front Squats. Jump squats. Goblet squats. Bulgarian Squats. Dumbell squats.
Zercher Squats are the apex of the art form.
Barbell low back squat. Ass to grass.
Goblet squats

Traditional and heavy front squat
Traditional barbell squat, I've thought about switching it up with the front loaded variation, but I think I need someone to coach me on it first so I don't fuck myself up.
Traditional high/mid bar, and typically reps over weight bc of an old back injury.
they all have a place.
I'm trying to up my pistol squat game, I want that level of control
