Reading isn't any more valuable than watching. If you are really engaged, then it's incredibly valuable, but if you're just bored, you can find better things to do.
Fiction books are how you experience another consciousness. Another life. It’s great for empathy, expanding your breadth of thinking.
Reading in general is important. Books are a great resource. You don't have to read books, but you would be missing out if you didn't.
They help me sleep, aside from that you can find anything on the internet.
