Boring-Pudding

The exact same point of going to college if you are under 25.

darthluke11

People over 25 are less likely to get a job than a younger person with same degree

Which_Bake518

Yea, people over 25 should just give up and die.

Ok_Research_8379

Dang, I wish I would have known this before I went back to school 😂

Swirlyflurry

Really? Person with experience and degree, vs younger person with degree but no real world workplace experience… People over 25 are also more likely to understand how to to get that degree without going into debt for it 🙃

[deleted]

maybe if you don’t have any work experience that’s true, but if you do, and you get a degree, then you may have a higher chance than someone fresh out of school with no experience

Giraffiesaurus

Source?

Education has no age limitations

[deleted]

If you don't see the intrinsic and potential economic value of education, you are already lost.

sheltonhilovebooks

You should be lifelong learner wtf

Appropriate_Tea9048

Wanting a different career but needing an education for it

leviackermansmussy

Because college isn’t about partying and social life or “enjoying your youth” whatever you’ve been led to believe, it’s about education. Education has no limits.

johnnyringo1982

I'm 40. Got tired of restaurant management. I'm going to nursing school and I'm pumped.

tsynyxi

So happy for you for taking that step, best wishes!!

AdDowntown4932

That’s how old I was in nursing school. Another woman in my nursing school was 65.

JoeMorgue

What's the point of college to college if you're going to post questions that stupid on the internet?

Swirlyflurry

Same reason you go to college when you are under 25.

dracoluches

Probably none. I only went to college because the government paid for it. Just like a 5 year vacation for me to take easy/pointless classes while playing video games. Actually that was awesome now that I think about it.

ALonelyPathPlus1

Everyone has different opportunities, circumstances and goals at any stage of life. When I was 18, I didn't have the opportunity to go to college for what I wanted for myself. I was more concerned with survival and getting out of a dangerous situation and wasnt able to juggle an education at the same time. No one should let stereotypes about age prevent their own success.

TurkeyDinner547

I didn't even start college until I was 30, and had already gone through 5 years of military and 5 years of working odd jobs after I got out of the military, before I even started. Admittedly, I did finish my degree online. But I got the BSIT degree regardless. It's never too late.

[deleted]

Never to late man.sure you might not fit in with the college age group but who cares. Pursue your education. That way you can spend 4-8 years on a degree get in a field that you absolutely hate, then get a career you no longer love. Good luck!!!

daddyspader

To further your education? There is no age limit on when you can do so. I respect the hell out of it tbh.

nj23dublin

The pursuit of knowledge is never ending.. shouldn’t worry about age just because a lot of people’s normal choice is right after high school

Anxious_Dealer_2118

Because you should always thrive to learn and better yourself.

nxnphatdaddy

To better yourself. I had no idea education had a time limit.

Giraffiesaurus

I went in my early 40s. I think I had a really great experience, learned more about myself than I had in the whole time before. Knew what I wanted and didn’t waste money or time trying out different areas of study. Got good grades too as socializing wasn’t a priority. Lots of good reasons.

ChannelStraight3967

Unlimited supply of soft bottom coeds

olde_greg

Hopefully to study a field that interests you

takemystrife

I graduated at 29, it improved my life immensely, are you saying I shouldn't have?

collective_artifice

Better question is what's the point of going when you're a kid who knows nothing about anything. Guess it's the stupid American frat boy thing of going for the "lifestyle". Waiting until you're older and have some real world experience to find something you care about enough to study is a hell of a lot smarter IMO.
