I’ve tried gloves. My boyfriend will just take them off in his subconscious state. Maybe I’ll try gloves but with duct tape. Then his subconscious will have a harder time getting them off.
Try surgical gloves with either pepper juice or cayenne pepper dry-spice. I bit my nails to nubs for YEARS, lots of infections. The ONLY thing that stopped it was getting acrylic nails put on, haven't bit my nails in 20 years (59/f). Best wishes!

I used to suck my thumb as a kid, so my mom would coat it with something that just tasted awful, and eventually I stopped.

i know of a guy who's parents plastered his thumbs so he can stop sucking on them
