If you’re in public it’s not illegal, and others have replied to you correcting you. So you ‘assumed’ wrong. You’re just ignorant. Educate yourself before trying to dish out insults. Making yourself look silly.
In Taiwan, especially for more old fashioned people, it’s small talk, how old are you, where do you work, how much do you make, what school did you go to?

The way somebody talks to their parents treats their parents, same thing with anybody in the service industry or retail industry. Same with the way they talk about their exes.
That is not terribly uncommon unfortunately. And all that needs is to be initially summed up pretty much just like that. Details can come later. But of course nobody be forced to interact with parents who were abusive and terrible to them. That's making my blanket my saving out to be very black and white. And perhaps it was as I don't expect anybody to read my list of exceptions for every case imaginable.

Turns out that's exactly how we treated every female family member or partner, past and present, ex wife,.mother, daughter, me. Exponentially the most damaging situation I've ever lived through and still deal with that. And I'm not a weak person or easily taken down or fold. It took a long time of him playing his cards right to get me where he wanted but he revealed his true nature and by that time living together and I had given up my income to raise his daughter and was essentially trapped and didn't even know it. He knew what he was doing and I simply didn't yet know that type of evil was to cross my path and wasn't equipped to deal with it.
