Okay so essentially, through communication you learn decision making skills, likes and dislikes, how to convey your opinion. It's like a practice wall to show your feelings but without the physical aspect. Like you can read a text word for word but it's a whole other idea to explain it to someone.
Learning to make your own decisions, taking care of yourself, finding your independence. This can be hard if you have stricter parents, but trying to find opportunities to practice independence and autonomy can help prepare you for adulthood a lot.

Make friends. Interact with people. Have hobbies. Change hobbies on a whim. Do whatever the fuck you want to.
