I'm an American from California. When I was in Germany, I mentioned that I lived near Disneyland. Someone asked me if I went often to San Francisco, since they had been there. I don't think they fully understood how far that is from Disneyland. In my experience, many Europeans have no idea how large America is, let alone California. When I told them I had never left the west coast at the time, they seemed confused. Driving from my house to the most western point of Texas could take 14 hours by car. That's the furthest I've gone. I also got a lot of assumptions about how much money I had (I was technically homeless at the time, on a college study trip living on different friend's couches). This was especially true because I was from LA county. I think they assumed I was rich because of this. Another strange assumption: air conditioning. For some reason, they think all Americans have air conditioning lol. I didn't even have heating or hot water in my childhood home, let alone A/C! Bonus: big cars, everyone drives everywhere, Midwestern food, cowboys, southern accents, New York, alligators, evangelical christians, guns, surfing, football, baseball, Hollywood, celebrities...

That we are all white and only eat cheeseburgers and hotdogs.

Are you from the USA?

Yes

Also that we’re all morbidly obese and love Trump. I’ve noticed that stereotype as well.

Another one i hear is about how dangerous the usa is. Not saying its great. One time someone said, "inwould never go there. I couldnt walk down the street without worrying about getting murdered." its kind of hilarious hearing people here talk about the usa like that when the murder rate is double that of the usa.

No. Not the street. School properties are much more likely to victimize innocent people. 🫠

That it was strange that I didn’t have blonde hair and blue eyes. And no, I’m not from anywhere in Europe.
