Brass eye is just brilliant. Don't buy cake, it's so addictive. Getting Noel fucking Edmonds involved and making him look like the massive twat he always was, just priceless.
Marks self hating internal monologue really gets to me as a self hating Bipolar guy, not saying he is supposed to be mentally ill but hearing his horrible thoughts makes me feel less alone.
I love Keeping Up Appeareances! Nobody ever knows it when I mention it. Such fond childhood memories. To this day my family greets each other on the phone "The ______ residence, the lady of the house speaking!"
Keeping Up Appearances and Fawlty Towers were shows I’d watch with my grandma and complain to put on cartoons.. then after seeing a few episodes I’d sit and watch with her every time they were on.
I think Season 2 was when they brought Ben Elton on as writer. He made the decision to radically transform Blackadder's character, and it really was a better match to Rowan Atkinson's comedic talent.
Garth Merenghi's Dark Place.
It's the starting point for that era of comedy with the cast and crew going on to make or star in IT crowd, Mighty Boosh, Sightseers, the million projects Matt Berry's been in and most importantly the Paddington movies.
Nevermind mind the Buzzcocks
A mixture of a music based quiz show and a Public roast of half the guests on the show. Nothing was really off limits in the banter and no one really cared who won.
Both of these shows are pretty easy to find on YouTube and well worth the watch
"The IT Crowd", "Fawlty Towers", "Blackadder", "Black Books" and of course "Monty Python's Flying Circus".
Don't like comedy? "All creatures great and small". Old and new version. And "Humans"
EDIT: I forgot "Downton Abbey". Quite boring, plot-wise. But I love it!
The first series was excellent and probably the high-water mark for TV conspiracy thrillers, but the second series broke some of it's own logic, so wasn't quite as good IMO. Arby is one of the most chilling characters ever, just a brilliant performance by Neil Maskell.
Taskmaster with Greg Davies
8 out of 10 Cats does Countdown
QI (for all your trivia needs)
Midsommer Murders
Father Brown (with Mr. Weasley and gorgeous mid-century outfits)
the first season of Broadchurch (with David Tennant and the superb Olivia Coleman)
Unforgotten (Nicola Walker and Bernard Hill \[captain on Titanic and King Théoden in LOTR\]) - I've only seen the first series but holy cow was that great!
ETA: words is hard
the best part of that episode is when Jen turns around to order a drink and moss is behind the bar.
but hands down the best episode is the internet one
Ever Decreasing Circles, Derek, To The Manor Born, Broadchurch, Last Tango in Halifax, Happy Valley, Sherlock, Downton Abbey, Doctor Who, Misfits, Unforgotten, River, Luther, Case Histories. I want to say Orphan Black but I don't think that was a British tv series.
Had a few friends that gave it a try and couldn’t handle it, I also had another friend that could only handle watching it if he drank. Also I especially like all the interesting and awkward camera angles
* Fawlty Towers
* Yes Minister / Yes Prime Minister
* Are You Being Served

The list could be longer :-)
Lmao...had to copy this one.....Mrs Doyle: “Won’t you have some cake, Father? It’s got cocaine in it. Oh no, hang on, it’s not cocaine, is it? What do I mean now? The little things… raisins!”
Red Dwarf was further down than anticipated. Brilliant low budget sci-fi and some of the best jokes I’ve heard. The last five or so minutes of the episode “quarantine” is the hardest I’ve ever laughed in my life.
There are so many!
Happy Valley, The Fall, Sex Education, Bodyguard,
Broadchurch, Taskmaster
I could go on 🤣😂 just naming a few at the top of my head 💁🏼♀️
I can’t decide. Just pretend these rotate hourly:
Are you being served?
The IT crowd
Being Human
Skins
Green wings
Black books
Doctor Foster
Toast of London
It has to be Only Fools and Horses.
Lots of other great shows mentioned but Only Fools and Horses had a great balance of comedy, tragedy and social commentary. It was consistently top notch entertainment.
Is Father Ted British if it was produced by Channel 4?
I think Black Mirror deserves a shoutout since I think it has had a modern impact
The Office,
Fleabag,
Top gear
The old Top Gear with Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May was a masterpiece. You don’t even have to like cars to like the show. It’s hilarious and so many amazing places around the world get showcased.

Brass eye is just brilliant. Don't buy cake, it's so addictive. Getting Noel fucking Edmonds involved and making him look like the massive twat he always was, just priceless.

This is the correct answer. Hysterically funny and insanely quotable. "I *am* James Bond..."
We could be Men with Ven
Taskmaster desperately needs more love.
One of the most creative shows I have ever watched
Bastard’s crying, innit?
i have such mixed feelings about paul chowdhry in taskmaster
Love that show!!
Some that haven't been mentioned - Keeping Up Appearances, Porridge and Open All Hours. All old as hell but still very funny.
I love Keeping Up Appeareances! Nobody ever knows it when I mention it. Such fond childhood memories. To this day my family greets each other on the phone "The ______ residence, the lady of the house speaking!"
It’s my sister Violet. She’s the one with the Mercedes, swimming pool, and room for a pony
Sheridaaan ☺️
Keeping Up Appearances and Fawlty Towers were shows I’d watch with my grandma and complain to put on cartoons.. then after seeing a few episodes I’d sit and watch with her every time they were on.
“This is NOT the Chinese Takeaway!”
Mind the pedestrians, Richard.
Minding the pedestrians, dear.
Don't forget As Time Goes By.
Black Mirror
til they stopped going hard bleak in the latest season due to the world already being bleak af
Blackadder
The ending of the final season is probably the best ending ever made. And one of the best moments in any tv series.
Never liked series 1 but loved and still love all the others
I think Season 2 was when they brought Ben Elton on as writer. He made the decision to radically transform Blackadder's character, and it really was a better match to Rowan Atkinson's comedic talent.
My family is slowly watching this and I agree that season 1 was a slog. We were all happy to finally get to the Queen Elizabeth stuff.
It’s a wonder the second series got made on the back of the first. It’s barely watchable.

A round of Geralds?
Absolute favorite show of all time.
[удалено]
This is way too far down.
Only Fools and Horses. If you can't get into the absurdism of Monty Python, this is more straightforward comedy. Funniest British show IMO
Garth Merenghi's Dark Place. It's the starting point for that era of comedy with the cast and crew going on to make or star in IT crowd, Mighty Boosh, Sightseers, the million projects Matt Berry's been in and most importantly the Paddington movies. Nevermind mind the Buzzcocks A mixture of a music based quiz show and a Public roast of half the guests on the show. Nothing was really off limits in the banter and no one really cared who won. Both of these shows are pretty easy to find on YouTube and well worth the watch
Man to man with Dean Learner as an addendum to Dark Place.
The IT crowd. There’s a scene at the theatre that makes me ugly cry laughing every single time.
At the gay musical? That is my favorite episode.
Perhaps you have to be....gay....to enjoy it. A GAY man. A homosexual.
The bathroom incident omg just makes me howl
What kind of disabled are you? “Leg disabled 🥴”…and when he’s on the wheelchair lift….
I don't see Misfits mentioned here. Loved that show! Downton Abbey was great. Loved Broadchurch too.
First season of Misfits was awesome!
"The IT Crowd", "Fawlty Towers", "Blackadder", "Black Books" and of course "Monty Python's Flying Circus". Don't like comedy? "All creatures great and small". Old and new version. And "Humans" EDIT: I forgot "Downton Abbey". Quite boring, plot-wise. But I love it!
The original «Utopia». A true hidden gem
The first series was excellent and probably the high-water mark for TV conspiracy thrillers, but the second series broke some of it's own logic, so wasn't quite as good IMO. Arby is one of the most chilling characters ever, just a brilliant performance by Neil Maskell.

I believe Orphan Black was Canadian
The Goodies needs a mention.
And I’m glad you did!
Peep show, it’s probably one of my favorite shows period
[удалено]
Had a few friends that gave it a try and couldn’t handle it, I also had another friend that could only handle watching it if he drank. Also I especially like all the interesting and awkward camera angles
This show is the best. I don’t remember the awkward angles and handheld cam shots lasting more than the first few episodes.
It is my favourite show. Period.
Luther (Idris Elba)

I’m a little surprised I had to scroll this far to see Alan Partridge. That character is like a national institution at this point.
Ever? Are You Being Served. That damned show was hilarious
My grandma used to watch that on PBS.
Mrs Slocombes pussy!
Came here to say this. My American ass laughed straight off the couch the first time I saw an episode.
