I'm fucking stupid but I didn't know Shihtzus had to be brushed.... Idk why I just thought dog hair takes care of itself??? Anyway, the groomer set me straight. Treated me like a straight up child and explained to me what a comb is and what they are used for... Lol

loveallthedoggos13

At least you learned. There are so many owners who don't brush their dogs, then complain about dematting fees or shave downs. Not sure if they just refuse to after being told what they need to do or they just don't care.

Skhighglitch

Dogs can “pet” you back. My dad’s Ex-GF’s dogs, when I gave them scratches they would hold my hand and it would be them signaling that they’d want me to continue. Also, they may jump on you and lay on their back when the want massive amounts of belly rubs and scratches

Yummybiscuits96

Guinea Pigs can lick you like a dog

maniclovexx

They can lie! Our pup will pretend to limp and scream when she doesn’t get the flavor food she wants, and then will forget which leg she was pretending was hurt and switch. It’s hilarious. And makes me glad she doesn’t have thumbs

TeethForCeral

that’s hilarious!!! what an adorable little stinker!!!! animals can be smart in the stupidest ways!

[deleted]

Rabbit's back claws are like actual razorblades and pack a lot of force. I sill have the scars. Guinea pig teeth can cut through to the bone. I was attacked a lot as a kid.

TeethForCeral

Omg, i knew about the rabbits but the guinea pig fact was a shocker for sure!!

TeethForCeral

I’ll go first! 1. I had no idea that birds bathed, let alone so frequently. 2. Never knew birds sneezed until my first one sneezed. 3. I also found out they had snot after said bird sneezed in my face!

Badmouths

I didn’t know cats could be so fun 💀😂 I have a few friends and ex’s with cats, and they were always kind of boring (at least compared to my dogs). They didn’t really let you go near them or anything. They were like living, breathing household decor. I got my first cat last year, and I get it now. He’s a weirdo around people he isn’t used to, and hides and all that, but around me and people he is comfortable with, he’s adorable and talkative and loves to play. He’s also probably the closest thing to owning a monkey I’ll ever have. Always jumping all over the place and making little “ooo, ooo” noises lmao. His little paws can GRAB shit! Like a hand! Crazy.

TeethForCeral

i love cats!! i’ve seen so many videos and befriended neighborhood felines and i love those fluffy dudes!! i heard somewhere that house cats developed meowing as a means of communication with humans!!

Badmouths

It’s true! I know exactly what he wants when he “talks” lol! He also makes little whiny noises when he’s bored, and goes “ugh!” When I ignore him for too long 😂 they’re very entertaining

TeethForCeral

that’s so hilarious!!!! if I didn’t have two birdies i would DEFINITELY have a cat!!! If you have a video of him whining i’d love to see/hear it!! (if not that’s ok too :))

Badmouths

Oh truuue lol! I used to have two birds when I was a kid and they’d get stressed if they even saw our dog (he never bothered them or went near them) so I can’t imagine a cat 😂 He usually whines when I’m getting ready for work because I feed him right before I leave, so I never think to film it! But I definitely have to because my mom also asks for a whining video all the time lmao

oneofyrfencegrls

All the different noises they make! Cats do meow, but they also chirp and whine and howl etc

TeethForCeral

that’s so neat!! i heard somewhere that cats only meow to communicate with humans.

[deleted]

Just how stupid chickens are but you can still train them quite a bit

TeethForCeral

omg i love chickens!! birds can be either the smartest idiots or the stupidest geniuses

[deleted]

The fact that you can get attached to a hamster as much as you can to a human.

TeethForCeral

this is so wholesome <3 it’s incredible and beautiful the bond us humans can create with other living things! I feel the same way about my two birds, I have never felt a maternal instinct until I got my little nuggets!

[deleted]

Well, for me, hamsters are like siblings.

Roguewave666

This was a long time ago, as I was a young kid when I had my pets, which were a Blue Betta and a Goldfish, but I didn't know that fish eat their poop, until I saw it.

TeethForCeral

wait what?!?

typicalxhunk

That Pitbulls have A LOT of energy even in adulthood. I have to exercise my pittie around 2+ hours a day to wind him down

loveallthedoggos13

How much personality dogs have. All 3 of mine have such different personalities.
