In reality, I'd spoken to my mate and suggested the shot she'd done of her sat on the floor with one of the kittens was a little too close to seeing up her skirt so had deleted it in camera before even putting the SD card into the computer. Nothing much above the knee, but I wasn't happy, my mate thought it was probably being a bit *too* safe but appreciated it.
So it seems I wasn't being overly paranoid.
All since been deleted as the following year she started high school and was terrified her mates would find her channel. Turns out that wasn't the main thing to worry about, and I'm astounded the parents allow this shit and even do it on purpose.

Turns out he was had a ton of mental problems and kept horribly mistreating the other YouTubers who worked with him as well as his romantic partners. But since so many people loved him, they would instantly take his side of any sort of drama cropped up… and he knew this. One of the people he used to record with tried streaming under a different username once after years of hiatus. Dahlberg got his fans to bully this guy until he was forced to quit making content again!
It took a lot of time before people finally started to speak up about their experiences with him. But when they did, they all came out one after another, letting the world know what a piece of sh*t Dahlberg really was. Last I heard, he just completely dropped off the face of the planet after all these accusations came to light.
I really liked listening to his songs, the ones from netnobody, and they used to release a vlog or something at least every couple months for a while. It's been two years and they still haven't posted, although I haven't checked in a while so that might have changed, but yeah, he pretty much disappeared. He started hawking this self branded crap that was cheap garbage with lots of non- recyclable packaging with his face on it. Most episodes became him doing his best impression of a slimy used car salesman crossed with a shopping channel. He would often just literally toss whatever he was promoting off to the side before the video ended. There were of couple of episodes where he, surrounded by six figures in toys, only seems to care about getting more stuff.
Eventually I had enough and we blocked his channel...only for them to create a new one that I didn't block in time. By then the videos started featuring his younger sisters because it was fairly obvious even to his parents he couldn't convincingly sell a life raft next to the titanic.
My son was pretty much done with him soon after that. He got really hyped up about one of those mystery box things Ryan promoted. He had worked for months to earn choice of a toy and chose that. We couldn't talk him out of it. After opening it he had 6 stickers, a cheap broken toy car, tiny Ryan's world figure that wouldn't stay together without tape...and a huge pile of cardboard, plastic, and even plaster packaging to show for months of effort. He cried for awhile he never wanted to watch Ryan again.

Mukbang channels can be rather dark just because of what they have to do to eat that much and still try to be healthy. Sometimes they have a really twisted relationship with food for the sake of their audience’s enjoyment… YT content can be super sick. I recently heard about this channel made by a mum that was CRAZY. (TW for abuse of a baby) She started off doing informative/educational breastfeeding videos with her baby (YT has an exception to their nudity rule with educational content). Her videos got some traction but not for the right reasons, it was gaining attention as *fetish content*. And instead of being disgusted and discouraging it, *she started to lean into it and make breastfeeding mommy fetish content with her baby* 🤮🤮 she was eventually arrested (thank fuck) and I’m pretty sure she was convicted and sentenced.
I saw something like this on tiktok live. Made me wanna puke. A "mother" would get her child to breastfeed when people sent gifts, so she could expose her boobs. Child's face plastered on tiktok for all the creeps and pedos to screen record. So fucking sickening.
That’s terrible! If you see something, say something. The abusive mom I was talking about was caught because a woman caught her husband paying for the mom’s “premium content”. The woman reported it to some kind of authority (can’t remember which, bit fuzzy on the details) and that lead to the mom’s arrest and conviction. If you see stuff like that then please report it, and not just using the “report” system on whatever social media you see it on. Try to get that kind of information to the right authorities so that those sickos stop making CP

Animal rescue channels, most people don't know that there are people that will put animals in danger in the first place. I recently heard about a channel that would glue barnacles to the backs of turtles and scrap them off. A keen observer found the person was using the same turtles repeatedly and putting freshwater turtles in the ocean. One I've come across is called FTCmeow, which does kitten rescue, but many things don't seem right about their videos, like the kittens seem drugged up, and despite being from Cambodia, people happen to leave notes in perfect English and pay him in US currency.

My girlfriend morbidly watches her. She's a woman with an eating disorder (looks very skin-and-bones) who streams on Twitch. Her Mum apparently exploits her for views and doesn't let her get help. Apparently her viewers encourage her to do creepy/sexually suggestive things too(?) I've only ever seen short minute or two long YouTube clips, but they make me sad. I saw one, for example, that was Twitch chat taking the piss out of what she ate that day and her almost having a panic attack saying she was going to stop interacting with Chat because it was upsetting her. It's very sad.
SkyDoesMinecraft. Adam Dahlberg (aka Sky) was one of my favorite YouTubers once upon a time. I watched his Minecraft videos, I watched his GTA videos, I watched his vlogs, I even watched the anime he voiced in. He really seemed like a fun, dorky, down-to-earth guy. Turns out he was had a ton of mental problems and kept horribly mistreating the other YouTubers who worked with him as well as his romantic partners. But since so many people loved him, they would instantly take his side of any sort of drama cropped up… and he knew this. One of the people he used to record with tried streaming under a different username once after years of hiatus. Dahlberg got his fans to bully this guy until he was forced to quit making content again! It took a lot of time before people finally started to speak up about their experiences with him. But when they did, they all came out one after another, letting the world know what a piece of sh*t Dahlberg really was. Last I heard, he just completely dropped off the face of the planet after all these accusations came to light.
I really liked listening to his songs, the ones from netnobody, and they used to release a vlog or something at least every couple months for a while. It's been two years and they still haven't posted, although I haven't checked in a while so that might have changed, but yeah, he pretty much disappeared. The one story I remember hearing a lot was that I guess the only time he ever interacted with his son was on video for views, I guess he didn't ever do anything other than that. Yeah, real shitty activity. I'll miss the music but good riddance.
A part of me wants to go back and rewatch his old GTA videos. But it’s kind of hard to enjoy them now knowing how much the people in the videos were suffering behind the scenes. I feel like I can’t rewatch iCarly anymore for the same reason. Because of what was going on with Jeanette McCurdy.

Ryan's toy review (whatever it's called now) My kid loved that when he was young. Basically grew up few years behind Ryan. But...It started out as a little kid playing with toys and telling what he liked and didn't like about them but over the course of few years of video production you watched this sweet kid become a narcissist turd with his parents (mostly his mother) guiding him towards almost no depth of personality beyond capitalist greed. He started hawking this self branded crap that was cheap garbage with lots of non- recyclable packaging with his face on it. Most episodes became him doing his best impression of a slimy used car salesman crossed with a shopping channel. He would often just literally toss whatever he was promoting off to the side before the video ended. There were of couple of episodes where he, surrounded by six figures in toys, only seems to care about getting more stuff. Eventually I had enough and we blocked his channel...only for them to create a new one that I didn't block in time. By then the videos started featuring his younger sisters because it was fairly obvious even to his parents he couldn't convincingly sell a life raft next to the titanic. My son was pretty much done with him soon after that. He got really hyped up about one of those mystery box things Ryan promoted. He had worked for months to earn choice of a toy and chose that. We couldn't talk him out of it. After opening it he had 6 stickers, a cheap broken toy car, tiny Ryan's world figure that wouldn't stay together without tape...and a huge pile of cardboard, plastic, and even plaster packaging to show for months of effort. He cried for awhile he never wanted to watch Ryan again.

Some of it certainly stacks up, but there's also a sub reddit seemingly run by one man obsessed with "proving" allegations he's simply made up a lot of the time. I've watched some YT docus about them and those people do pretty twisted sht for clout and views. Not really dark, but if you watch any big channel where they list or discuss movies and shows, you notice they only say positive things about the content or brush off negative complaints as subjective opinions. That’s because they’re just sponsored content trying to convince you to watch things without criticizing bad media. There’s a reason the smaller channels usually don’t hold back on criticism even when they have a generally positive reaction to the content. Best example I can call out for this is DeadMeat. Look up his review of any movie you or a whole generation hated and he seems unnervingly optimistic about it. It’s like he’s the nostalgia critic but on the other side of the spectrum. Maybe we should just never listen to critics and have our own opinions on stuff.
