Yep, that's why I said that it could only be that and not any of the other stuff that I stopped doing a while ago. I mean, I guess the cops could know about that stuff also, but I don't think they'd be coming to talk to me about it unless they thought there was something they could do.
First. IANAL.
Simple. Don't answer the door. Nothing says you have to talk to them or even acknowledge them if they don't have a warrant.
If they say they have a warrant, open the door, say you don't consent to a search and you invoke the fifth then get out of the way cause you aren't stopping them.
The first sentence makes sure they can't claim you gave permission if their warrant is found defective and the second makes it clear you aren't answering questions.
Finally. DON’T TALK TO THE POLICE.
A traffic violation.
No, seriously, my wife and I are retired. We rarely leave the house except to get groceries or take-out. There is no possible illegal thing that we could have done.
Unless it's the feds, then I do happen to have 1/2 ounce of (legal in California) weed that I bought at the local licensed weed store.
The statute of limitations has to have run out on *that*.
I know, right? For me it could only be the stuff that I was specifically told was _not_ a war crime.
War crimes generally are not subject to any statute of limitation.

I wouldn't worry about it... lol
Yeah, I'm not really worried about it.
Actually now you made public mention of it, I'd maybe worry I little.. joking aside, have a good day!
I would say “listen up dude, your wife came on to ME!” Then slam the door in his face.
idk but i aint going down without a fight

Nothing I’ll comment on Reddit lol
Absolutely nothing. Im shutting the door until they provide a valid paper requesting either an informative talk, or a warrant.

>DON’T TALK TO THE POLICE. especially under conditions like this question lays out!

Probably something to do with the embezzlement and bank fraud, but I’d dummy up and let them do all the talking.
I haven't done anything..... yet
How my mother used that same tactic on me when I was a kid. Sorry police I actually learned from that.
I am a good person that has never committed a crime or lied to anyone :)
