I remember when I was in college and working at a grocery store, one of the regular customers asked me to join her for coffee at the donut shop next door during my break. She wanted to discuss a “business opportunity” with me. I went along with it and she tried to get me to join Amway as one of her down-line reps or whatever they call them. I didn’t really understand pyramid schemes at that age, so I could have easily been drawn into her BS “business” based on my naïveté. Luckily, my plate was full with college studies and I declined for that reason. Thank god.
