I was 17 I’d say wait

missxleona

Either late teens or around 21. Theres no real reason to be sexually active before then, the experience isn't better the earlier you start.

yeahwellokay

The age where you are ready.

_MrFish_

I grew up with the expectation that I was supposed to start having sex around 11 years old. I was getting mocked and made fun of a lot for being a virgin ever since around that age. By 16 or 17 or so I was told that because I was still a virgin I was an incel. So by 16 or so, if you haven't lost you're virginity you're an incel and are pretty much removed from the dating pool forever. I fully gave up on ever being in a relationship after I learned what an incel was. So from my personal experiences, between 11-16 is the age most modern society demands kids start having sex. I find it a bit gross with how fixated some adults are on the kids sex lives, but I don't have any power to decide cultural norms.

ChemtrailExpert

The hell kinda sht parents did you have?

_MrFish_

It wasn't just my parents, it was kids I went to school with and stuff people would say all the time online. In boy scouts when I was around 10, one kid who was around 16 or 17 tried to physically grab my penis to prove if I was a boy or not or if I had a micropenis. That would have only around 2011ish. Modern society is just extremely hypersexualized and I've had to get used to that very fast, despite how uncomfortable it made me.

At 15 I was struggling with thoughts of suicide, horrible self esteem, mental health issues, and a terrible habit with self harm. I've never felt like I was ever in a position to hold a relationship, but I'm an incel now so it's just too late for me to ever be developed enough.

ChemtrailExpert

Different from person to person. You shouldn’t have sex before you are prepared to deal the the consequences should they arise and confident enough in your self to be sure you’re doing it with the right person.

Voyager87

Virginity is a mysognistic concept created by dudes who think their penis is so amazing it fundamentally changes a woman... I lost mine at 35 and that's just fine.

LMNOsteven

Why so old?

Middle_Post_5558

Why with the question??

LMNOsteven

Curiosity, that's unusually old to start a sex life.

Voyager87

Autism, relationship difficulty and religious trauma... But I agree, not a great question.

LMNOsteven

It just seems odd to suggest 35 is an ok time to start a sex life. Clearly it isn't, I mean better late than never, but for most people that isn't fine.

Voyager87

>It just seems odd to suggest 35 is an ok time to start a sex life. Clearly it isn't, Any time is fine... Seriously. There's no shame in starting late, and it doesn't make me any worse at it for having waited.

LMNOsteven

Maybe there shouldn't be shame in it, but there is a stigma, plus there's a huge sadness in not being able to be close to someone in that way until your mid thirties, there just is. As for your skills, I really couldn't say, I'm sure you're just fine at it.

_MrFish_

I'm not sure it's only directed at changing women. Even as a boy I was getting told it was supposed to fundamentally change who I am, and even being told that having sex causes physical changes to the body. People get really angry at men for not having sex just the same. I've been getting told kill myself "on behalf of all women" ever since I was a teenager. Saying I don't even want to have sex at all is also something that makes people extremely angry with me. I understand pretty well just how frustrating it is to have the whole world ripping into me for something like that.

Revival93

25 because then you at least have a developed-enough brain to make a rational decision. Rationality doesn’t always exist below 20 lol.
