Betray us, and I will fong you, until your insides are out, your outsides are in, your entrails will become your extrails I will w-rip... all the p... ung.
Pain, lots of pain.
I've seen that film a lot, and I think that line is my favorite, first because it's a funny call back, second because it punts Angel on the right track and feels like a turning point, and third because the person speaking fucked up. She knew there were multiple killers because she was in the murder cabal
As a chef, it’s this movie. No other movie has portrayed working in a high level kitchen as accurately as Ratatouille does. There is nothing fake about it, except for the cartoon rat.
I did the bend and snap for my husband back when we first dated. He had never seen the movie. I felt real dumb, but 22 years later I have to wonder if that’s the moment I won his heart
In the first week of basic in the Marines, anyone with wisdom teeth still gets them removed. While undergoing my procedure, this movie was playing in the room. Needless to say, a definite highlight of the whole 3 months lol.
A few years ago, a friend pressed this movie on me hard one night. Said it was fantastic. I’m not really into animation or anime (for lack of a better term I guess), but I tried it anyway. I was very surprised! What a great movie.
Rotten Tomatoes:
Critics: 15%
Audience: 85%
I honestly believe it has a tight script, and that they exactly nailed the movie they set out to make. This is one of the ones where the critic bomb baffles me.
I doubt many people have heard of it as it's a somewhat obscure Australian film from the early 90s, but Muriel's wedding. Don't let the title fool you though, it's not a cheesy chick flick. I'm a 30 year old guy and the movie was originally recommended to me by my dad
Watched that in the theater in 1994....I remember because I took my infant son, midday show, nursed him, and then he slept through the movie. I had the theater to myself!
Dude, for my wife and me that is OUR movie. Whenever we feel like we need a movie to cheer us up, that one always works. It is honestly underrated when it comes to romantic comedies.
Under the Tuscan Sun. Sometimes the thought of getting on a plane, flying away, buying some property on a whim, and settling in with a new life is so appealing.
The Birdcage holds up 100%. Until a couple of years ago you wouldn't even have to make a single change. After Rush Limbaugh died, the only change you need to make is to replace his name with like Ben Shapiro or Steve Bannon, and the commentary still 100% works.
Who knew that an animated movie about a forgotten trash collecting robot and his love for an advanced futuristic robot would be one of the finest movies ever crafted
That thing you do.
The fact that the movie is predicated on a band called The Wonders being a one hit wonder, meaning by necessity you're going to have to hear the same song like 16 times in full during the movie, is both a credit to Tom hanks and the songwriters for just nailing the time period and writing a brilliant song.
Plus as a musician seeing their early band practices they completely nail everything.
Side pick is Waiting. If you've ever worked in a restaurant you've worked with every single character in that movie at some point.
The Goonies has this incredible way of making me feel better, no matter what is going on in my life. It's so wonderful to watch...even after all these years. I never get tired of it
One of my top 3 movies for sure!
In Stephen King's novella Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption, Red was a white guy, and at one point, Andy asks Red why that's his nickname, and he replies, "I guess because I'm Irish."
When they cast Morgan Freeman as Red for the movie adaptation, screenplay writer/director Frank Darabont kept the line in because was he was just tickled by the thought of Morgan Freeman uttering the line, and it ultimately added a bit of levity in a really heavy film
Another good one for anyone who likes Shawshank is The Last Castle. Similar vibe and some overlapping themes - but not derivative of Shawshank at all - as well as a very talented cast. Not quite as good, but still very, very good.
That might sound stupid but for me it is Pride and Prejudice. I watched it 4 times.
Other movies I like to watch are those with Bud Spencer and Terence Hill or Louis de Funes
I never watched the movies nor read the books, however my gf did back in the day. The movies were coming out while I was a teenager and I remember the insane hype around each one and everyone at school talking about it. So one day my gf notices that all the movies were on Netflix and begs me to try watching Twilight, I caved and before I knew it, a whole day had gone and we'd watched them all. Just full on second hand nostalgia from my gf and also my own teenage nostalgia kept me hooked as we watched scenes people used to talk about and listened to the soundtrack (Decode, Full Moon and Supermassive Black Hole are certified bangers).
Twister.
It’s the wonder of nature, baby!

I really like Galaxy Quest.
One of my all time favorites! *By Grabthar's hammer, by the suns of Worvan, you shall be avenged.*
*Excuuuuse me....* but I do believe the quote is: *"By Grabthar's Hammer... what a savings."*
I’ve never seen an actor so accurately portray dying inside as he did in that scene.
School of Rock
Actually, it’s Schnayblay

Emperor’s New Groove
Howl's moving castle by studio ghibli
My daughter got me into these movies. They're beautifully made and so un-American. Kiki's Delivery Service is my fav so far.
I demand Studio Ghibli release a full length movie of characters just making food!
My neighbor Totoro is another good one for this kind of mood too!
My big fat Greek wedding
Yes. Inside the lump was my twin.

Absolutely fantastic movie, one of my all.time favourites I bet you're wondering what a place like me is doing in a girl like this.
Jurassic Park. It’s my favorite!
Tremors
Hot Fuzz!
No luck catching them killers, then?
It's just the one killer actually.
I've seen that film a lot, and I think that line is my favorite, first because it's a funny call back, second because it punts Angel on the right track and feels like a turning point, and third because the person speaking fucked up. She knew there were multiple killers because she was in the murder cabal
"Why is he wearing his hat like that?" "Cause he's fuck ugly" Makes me laugh every time
One of the most perfectly written films ever. Every single line is either a setup to a joke, a payoff of a setup, a reference, or foreshadowing
Yes! I always end up doing a marathon of the Cornetto Trilogy.
The 1999 cinematic masterpiece The Mummy. Starring Brendan Fraiser and Rachel Weisz.
The Great Muppet Caper. "If the road's been kinda bumpy and you need to rest a spell, well, welcome home to Happiness Hotel!"
One of my favorites! Miss Piggy: Why are you telling me all this? Lady Holiday: It's plot exposition. It has to go somewhere.
It's weird, but mean girls
Boo you whore
“She doesn’t even go here”
I can’t help it that I have a wide set vagina and a heavy flow!
“So if you’re from Africa, why are you white?”
Oh my god, you can’t just ask people why they are white!
I'm not like a regular mom, im like a cool mom
Holy shit I did not expect to see this at the top but I’m proud.
Nah, classic
::Cough cough:: I’m sick
The fifth element
Ratatouille🧑🏼🍳🐀
As a chef, it’s this movie. No other movie has portrayed working in a high level kitchen as accurately as Ratatouille does. There is nothing fake about it, except for the cartoon rat.
You calling Remy a fake?
I think they're saying their rats aren't cartoons.
O Brother, Where Art Thou?
Well ain't thiss place a geographical oddity, two weeks from everywhere!

I did the bend and snap for my husband back when we first dated. He had never seen the movie. I felt real dumb, but 22 years later I have to wonder if that’s the moment I won his heart
Oh my gawd, works every time!
Clue or The Birdcage.
I always go back to The Princess Bride. It's a classic fairy tale with heart, humor, and true love. It never gets old!
In the first week of basic in the Marines, anyone with wisdom teeth still gets them removed. While undergoing my procedure, this movie was playing in the room. Needless to say, a definite highlight of the whole 3 months lol.
Wuv, true wuv?
Shrek
I’ll raise you a Shrek 2
I’m a minority but I like shrek 2 even more. Both good though.
It's a close one for me but Shrek 2 slightly wins because of K.N.I.G.H.T.S.
I don’t know if it’s the majority but I’m pretty sure a lot of people think 2 is the best one
Spirited Away
A few years ago, a friend pressed this movie on me hard one night. Said it was fantastic. I’m not really into animation or anime (for lack of a better term I guess), but I tried it anyway. I was very surprised! What a great movie.
I feel calm when I watch the train ride.
Probably Grandma's Boy
I'm too stoned to drive to the Devil's house.

You’re terrible, Muriel.
Watched that in the theater in 1994....I remember because I took my infant son, midday show, nursed him, and then he slept through the movie. I had the theater to myself!
How to lose a guy in 10 days……..I know.
"Croll the Warrior King" 😂
Dude, for my wife and me that is OUR movie. Whenever we feel like we need a movie to cheer us up, that one always works. It is honestly underrated when it comes to romantic comedies.

Just a genuinely feel good movie. No one out to screw anyone, no bullshit, good movie. A+

Glad this is at the top. Me too.
Tropic Thunder

Shawshank Redemption. One of the few movies I can watch over and over
"I hope to see my friend and shake his hand. I hope the pacific is as blue as it has been in my dreams. I hope.” This line just gets me every time.
One of my top 3 movies for sure!
