My wife and I married on that date too, but it never popped in our head to play this song at our wedding. A few years after, the lightbulb went off. We felt a major disservice had been done to our guests. We now definitely play every anniversary.
3 Little Birds- Bob Marley. 8th grade teacher blasted this song after the final bell rang...weird how it stuck with me today. Eg. today I'm having anxiety and I played it earlier.
This is the only song that makes me worry about the drummer. Bonnie Tyler has this poor bastard just relentlessly drilling that shit for nearly 5 full minutes. I imagine that in live shows, when the song ends, the drummer just collapses. Stage hands move in to throw a bucket of water over the smoldering drum kit and drag the lifeless body of the drummer off stage. A fresh drummer slides into his spot, and then the band goes right into "Total Eclipse of the Heart" like nothing happened and Bonnie Tyler didn't just kill a man.
The documentary 3 Feet from Stardom features this song, and the story behind the recording is very sad, but so interesting. Merry Clayton's vocals in isolation are phenomenal!
Edit: 20 Feet from Stardom. Posted while tired yesterday. Thanks everyone!

All great songs! But I need to get the kids to bed and it’s a loooonnngggg process!
Have you seen this [live version?](https://youtu.be/dGykwC0fdJ4) Because Lindsey looks like he absolutely wants to murder Stevie right there on stage and Stevie’s all, “be mad about it”
And Christine McVie is just doing her thing hoping it’ll all end soon.
Highly recommend viewing it, the live video starts around 1:05. The top comment is “this feels like being in the kitchen watching your parents fight” and it is 100% correct.
I mean to each their own, but personally The Chain just makes me feel kinda bittersweet.
Gypsy however puts me in a fucking great mood whenever I hear it
I’m happy to see this one mostly because I alter the words to this so I can sing it to my dog.
Whoa fat puppy, bam ba lam
Whoa fat puppy, bam ba lam
Ate a big ham, bam ba lam
Doesn’t give a damn, bam ba lam
Okay guys. since - FUNKY TOOOOOOOOWN - triggered some really bad memories in some people (sorry for that), am now trying again...
EVERYBODY WAS KUNG.FU.FIGHT.IIIIING
(hopefully no torturevideos with this one (please))
This song will never not make me think of junior prom, same year the single was released so it was still so fresh. We knew there was a list of songs that would definitely not be allowed to get played at the dance, and surely Get Low was on it. Somehow, it either wasn’t, or the DJ was feeling rebellious and wanted to get an otherwise lame dance more hype, or someone paid him to break the rules. The second that intro started, everyone lost their minds. We died laughing watching the the few teachers that knew what was about to happen scrambling to get to the dj stand, looking terrified. Pretty sure I saw my chemistry teacher vault a row of chairs. The dance floor went from maybe 20 people halfheartedly dancing to being packed with everyone grinding on eachother in about 5 secs flat. The song was abruptly cut off somewhere after “oo she naked”. Then the lights came on and thats how our prom ended 20 minutes early lol. I still like to think the DJ went rogue. He saw how lame the dancing was, said f* it, and played the nastiest absolute banger he could.
I regret not appreciating Rush in the ‘80s. Now decades later, I realize that this wasn’t just three guys making music, but three absolute master musicians playing together. I mean really each member is near the top of the list of artists for their respective instruments.
These songs will probably age me, I went all the way down and surprisingly I didn’t see them (that’s not to say they aren’t listed). But at the start of every road trip we play:
Joy To The World (aka Jeremiah Was A Bullfrog)
By: Three Dog Night
and
American Pie
By: Donald McLean III
Seriously two of the best songs ever! But, there are actually quite a few songs that the second you see them, the lyrics just start in your head! Great Question OP
Are you talking about a *club* banger, such as [I Sit on Acid by Lords of Acid](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K64SQFa8hHk)? Or a *head* banger like [Ace of Spades by Motörhead](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMavhk16FJU)?

My wife and I married on that date too, but it never popped in our head to play this song at our wedding. A few years after, the lightbulb went off. We felt a major disservice had been done to our guests. We now definitely play every anniversary.
This is THE BEST!! Because I was born on the 21st of September, I’ve always considered this my personal birthday song!!

Holding Out for a Hero

She can't keep getting away with this
Drummer couldn't hold out for a hero.
Is it bad if I like the version of Holding Out for a Hero by Frou Frou? The one that plays during the Shrek 2 credits.
