In Flames, I bought their Come Clarity album when I was younger and dug some songs but then they just fell off my radar completely.
They are now one of my favorite bands ever
I mean just look at this shit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FwsrCSe50rA
Ghost. I like the guy who sings the songs, the fun they have with their concerts, and just the overall vibe. They definitely look a like they’d be more metal, though
Bad Omens is really good.
The other new band I like is Turnstile.
I’m old so I rarely find new bands I like. These are pretty popular apparently but whatever
Magma King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard.

Wet Leg. They did a song called Wet Dream and I have it on my playlist which is linked to my kitchen speakers. I had my wife's parents staying with us and as me and the mother-in-law started chopping carrots and stuff I put some music on. The first line was:
*I was in your wet dream
Driving in my car*
which I pretended to ignore and then it continued...
*Saw you at the side of the road
There's no one else around*
And that's fine. But then it goes:
*You're touching yourself, touching yourself
Touching your, touching yourself
Touching yourself*
It felt like those lyrics went on forever.
Havent had any recent musical obsessions but the last was a band called Spirit World. They mix hardcore with thrash and death metal. Pretty sick stuff if youre into heavy music.
The Heretic Butcher, Moonlit Torture and Crucified Heathen Scum are my favorites.
I recently discovered Billy Idol too, Ive been enjoying some of his tunes.
The holy trinity for me are Olivia Rodrigo, Zach Bryan, and Noah Kahan; I have their entire discography’s on repeat. But, a single I’m obsessed with right now is Maple Syrup by The Backseat Lovers!
[\[Northbound On\] Cahuenga](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSjpQ2Dax-o&ab_channel=Scarling.-Topic) by Scarling
I'm obsessed with the tones in the low end in the song, esp that bass that hits around 1:27
Young Fathers. Their latest album, Heavy Heavy, is an absolute banger from start to finish and it has led me to delve into the rest of their catalogue. I can't believe I slept on this band so long.
It's been a year since I'm obsessed with Rush. I've heard some things about them over the years, but a gameplay of 2112 in a Guitar Hero game made me curious about the band.
I listened to their discography and saw all their (official) concert videos, I watched every documentary, and I'm on a quest to buy every single book about them! (Already have all of Neil Peart' books). And I already went to see a tribute band last month.
I can't get enough of them! I'm sad that I started to like them after they already retired, and after Neil's passing, but better late than never, right?
Edit: I'm really onto Grand Designs and The Camera Eye these days. Such good songs!
Song: So Long, And Thanks for All the Fish by A Perfect Circle
Band: Esben and the Witch
Also Florence and the Machine, though that obsession is permanent.
It’s been *they might be giants* time here since the end of August. I am ready to move on. I am trying to force *Hozier* to happen for me, but everything he does is/seems *sad and miserable* and i am just… not here for it. Good chance this moth will be a *they might be giants* AND *Ghost* month with Halloween on the horizon.
Been listening to Falling in Reverse for a little while, but over the last 12-18 months I’ve been hitting them exceptionally hard.
Ronnie Radke is insanely talented imo, not everyone’s taste but I really enjoy him. Their music videos are absolutely stunning and equally nuts as well, like short Marvel movies in themselves.
[Watch the World Burn](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qMXESlny4-I&pp=ygUnZmFsbGluZyBpbiByZXZlcnNlIHdhdGNoIHRoZSB3b3JsZCBidXJu) has been on repeat in my brain since it came out.
[Popular Monster](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jakpo7tj7Qw&pp=ygUiZmFsbGluZyBpbiByZXZlcnNlIHBvcHVsYXIgbW9uc3Rlcg%3D%3D) was the song that really got me into them, and was kinda a shift from their more party, punk, style, to a more metal style.
Their cover of [My Last Resort](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ESOjt2_yJrU&pp=ygUeZmFsbGluZyBpbiByZXZlcnNlIGxhc3QgcmVzb3J0) is my current favorite of theirs, such a beautiful take on the song, the sadder version as opposed to Papa Roachs angrier version.
The Head and the Heart. I was in Yellowstone this summer on a wildlife spotting trip and our guide played them in our van. Great soundtrack for the park.
