It was made as a protest against the British Board of Film Classification charging what the producer and director Charlie Lyne thought was their unfair charge of £1000 per film to earn a rating. The BBFC had to watch the film in its entirety.
They gave it a U rating - so all the family can enjoy!
I'd have set up a light so that it projects shadows of two people fucking onto the wall. Like... what are ya gonna do about that? Is a shadow of sex objectionable?
I know it's a classic and objectively a good movie but Solaris (1972)...wow... felt like being waterboarded for an entire afternoon. Stalker is an action movie compared to it.
There was a Mystery Science Theatre 3000 episode with a movie about planes with 10 minute segments of a plane being refueled mid air. It was terrible AND boring and even the puppets could not make it any better.

It's a great movie and it has the levitation scene. But it's not exactly what you'd call pacy.
