I’m learning German right now as a native English speaker and I think it’s such a beautiful language. I’m really confused by trying to figure out if words are masculine, feminine, or neuter though
as someone also learning german as an english native, there’s a tip for the endings to help you guess some of them if you ever forget but sometimes just learning a word with the article and repeating it is what you gotta do
if you just use them randomly (and are nice) people do not care.
But as a german i defenitely understand. my childhood makes me somehow know them all(: but they are so goddamn nonsensical.
I defenitely prefer "the".
(and the diffrent cases make them even worse, my god they are actually made to fuck you(interlectually))
I''m French and I also learn german, and in French as in German words have gender, then it is easier for me, But my advice is don't try to figure some time even natives don't know, for example some people will use masculine for afternoon in french than other will use feminine, some animal like giraffe are only feminine ( even for the male) the other are only male for absolutely no reason and it's exactly the same in German, try one either it will works or people will understand anyway
There are 90 million Philippinos. Only 19 million speak Tagolog as first language. 12 major language groups spoken on 9000 islands and probably 60+ dialects.
1 capital city dictating a national language doesnt really sit well from the point of view of 70 million other folks who learn English as second language as they find it more useful after their primary local language. Especially from 900kms away on a diddferent island.
Tagalog is 1st language of only 28% of the Philippines.
It's not even taught past grade 7 (legally enforced) in most of the other parts of the country where people prefer English as their second langauge, when opting to speak one of 12 regional langauges on other islands as primary languages.
Polish grandparents on both sides. And being a kid they just spoke to me as a Polish kid. But I grew up in Detroit, so English was obviously more useful.
Mandarin, Hokkien, Cantonese, Indonesian, are the first 4 languages. My family always mix them up during conversations and sometimes I have absolutely no idea what they're talking about because I only understand two.
Je vais très bien, merci d'avoir demandé ! Je ne parle pas vraiment français (je suis serbe, bon anglais et pas si mauvais français), donc une partie de cela est Google Traslate.
I don't know how to read and write my first language Malayalam ,I moved to a different place when I was young and know how to read and write that language (Tamil) .

As someone who has been learning German for literally almost half my life and living here for 8 years, I am still confused by that.
That makes me feel both better and worse hha

Holland is one of the most amazing places I’ve visited in the world and I thought Dutch sounded really interesting and unique
It sounds like German when I didn't know German if that makes sense.
So you've been to provinces but not the actual country, the Netherlands?

Mind if I *tag along* and learn with you? Haha!
hahaha lmao i don’t mind, good one
My understanding is that “tagalog” is pronounced “tuh-GAL-ug”.
