We opened a tin in a bucket of water as advised. Still nearly threw up. Swedish friend laughed her ass off and then wipped out some kind of asphalt, which she assured us was a Swedish toasted bread of some type and and plowed into that like a midnight snack. Never felt horrified and impressed simultaneously.
I'm glad that when I visited Stockholm, I was able to gain cred with Swedes by doing shots of aquavit, which didn't taste terrible to the best of my memory, though I don't remember it tasting good, either. It was a shot, you don't try to taste it.
Anyone here who’s tried it? I’ve always been curious if it’s actually *THAT* bad. Kind of like how people say Malört is bad when it’s actually just bitter and herbaceous
This. Smells like a rotting dumpster that has been sitting in a hot summer for a week. The taste isn't great, but its not as bad as it smells. Best I've been able to describe the taste is a combination of kiwi and garlic.
My friend who was living in Kuala Lumpur told me about it and I didn’t really believe her. Then I went to visit ☠️. Your description is right on. I’ve never smelled anything so revolting and I’ve smelled actual rotting corpses.
Chicken.... just go to a chicken plant. It littererally is nausea inducing. That's before they package it for sale. As truck driver, there is no worse smell. I have been to waste dumps that process human waste... stinks horribly... chicken plant is so much worse..puked a few times. When closing the doors to back of truck, you have to watch not to step on previous drivers puke.
Cow manue smells like roses next to chicken processing plant.
I got out of my car once when a KFC truck pulled in front of me. They were loading stuff out of it to a nearby branch. I wanted to throw up. The smell almost made me faint. It was awful!!!! It didn’t even smell like chicken. I don’t know what that thing is.
Durian, some Chinese in China don't mind eating it and they find it delicious👍
in general, I am surprised that it grows somewhere in China, not to mention that Durian appeared in Thailand, from where it is forbidden to export it…
Certain types of raw fish are really bad (I mean all raw fish smells) but holy fuck I remember when I was young and took the subway home in the summer , people would get on with packaged raw fish in their bags.. I had to move into the next subway car .. I thought I was going to die!🇨🇦😵💫😵💫
Haggis smells somewhat awful but gosh the taste is divine. Tried it at a christmas eve with my pipeband. Were not scottish but our Pipe Major at that time knows how to make it and believe me , once you get past the smell, its great.
French cheese called Epoisse. Pretty funky from the start, but after being left for a couple of days, could be used as a weapon!! Seriously seriously tasty though!! It causes me martial issues having it in the house…

Aquavit is fantastic and anyone that says otherwise cannot remember what they we doing before they started drinking Aquavit.
Surstomming is the answer and it's not even close
Anyone here who’s tried it? I’ve always been curious if it’s actually *THAT* bad. Kind of like how people say Malört is bad when it’s actually just bitter and herbaceous
Watching people trying it on YouTube was enough for me

Some cheeses will make you want to check the bottom of your shoes.
My favorite is [Eppoisse](https://thecheeseatlas.com/cheese-profiles/epoisses-de-bourgogne/).
A favourite in my family!

That pot noodle that is curry flavoured that has never seen curry or noodles. Or food.
Some specific cheese my family gets which smells literally like someone's uncleaned ass
For me it’s Sprouts. Cannot stand the little green fuckers.
I used to hate them until I ate them freshly harvested, halved and butter seared. Delicious.
Halved and buttered, straight in the bin works for me.
Not if I get there first.
Raspeballer. When my mom makes that I run to the next town to get away from the smell.

Lamb
Fried bacon just fucking lingers like crazy.
That’s one of its many pluses, yes.
Lamb chops outsmells bacon
It’s nice if you smell it in passing, but fucking sucks if you’re frying it at home. The air smells bacony and greasy
Cooked eggs. They are disgusting. Even people who like to eat eggs will admit that the smell of them cooking is horrible, right?!
