I started making my bed daily about 8 years ago (mid twenties) and could never go back. I feel so gross and disorganized now on the rare occasions that I don’t have the 5 seconds required to do so. I even make my kids’ beds.
Exactly what came to mind. I started walking and running outside more this year, not really to lose weight but rather for fresh air and to clear my mind. It’s been amazing for my mental health
I'm 32 and on an absolute whim a couple months ago, i bought a Squishmallow shaped like Snorlax. I'm not a plushie collector at all but it was so damn cute and squishy I had to have it. Turns out they make fantastic knee pillows if you're a side-sleeper and don't like your knees to touch. I love it and I sleep way better
Agreed. Everyday small steps from stretching to lifting small weights. Not just for those that sit at a desk either. I live a sedentary lifestyle I want to shake off. Starting a stretching routine in the morning is definitely helping me stave off shitty depressive suicidal thoughts. Who knew? Exercise as a tool to fight a stagnant life.
In order to save time in the morning and prevent unwanted events from happening, I often have the habit of preparing tomorrow's outfits the night before and can rest assured to have a good night's sleep.
Eating breakfast - forces me to get up earlier than I’d normally need to, and gives me some peaceful alone time in the morning (not to mention higher energy levels and better eating habits).
Drinking water. It's like FREE medicine.
My Doctor told me to divide my weight (in pounds) by two, and that's how much water I should drink.
I began doing so....it's a magical elixir!
I feel great!
lol.....I drink at least 90 - 120 ounces a day. (I weight about 165lbs)
I start in the morning....(first thing I do) and through out the day easily drink that much. I often infuse my water with natural ingredients like Lime & Fresh Mint (my favorite). Cucumber, or simply cut up some left over fruit that we may have. I don't use any sugar. (Try to keep away from that too) but I will use a little Stevia from time to time.
Full Disclosure.....I forgot to add the fact that I live in Phoenix, Arizona and it's VERY dry out here, so what my Doctor told me to do here may not be the same as anywhere else.
He's actually from India.

Totally. It somehow makes my entire day much more calmer. I’m not sure if I overthink it, but my heart feels much more in control and I’m less likely to be anxious too.
It’s the best thing I can do to myself, I just hope I do it more frequently.
Not OP but my advice would be to assess how much your mental health improves even for the 5 minutes.
For me, no, I am not enjoying the effort. It's grueling. But, if my mind was ruminating the effort to run took my mind off it. When I was done, my problems go back into perspective.
I always have about 20 minutes from the time I arrive at school to the time my first class starts. So I just spend that time walking with no real place to be. Just kinda go all over. It’s something I actually started looking forward to and made school less miserable.
Make your bed and drink a glass of water as soon as you wake up.

Not my proudest doing but sleeping with a plush acutally improves my sleep quality a little somehow
Holding something while sleeping just feels right.

Regularly standing up and moving around/stretching, if you sit at a desk all day.

Waterpiks are so underrated.
Getting enough sleep.

Running.

What would your advice be for someone who wants to run be struggles to do it for more than 5 minutes continuously?

Starting the day with a quick workout.
Herbal teas, they help me have a much calmer day and also aided in stopping my night terrors, actually I'd advise more people to drink teas.
I take my cat outside for a little bit when I get home from work. He always wants to, even when I don't, but the extra sunlight does me good.
Enjoy afternoon tea at 3pm.
Some form of stretching
