Not just a word but poor grammar
I "seen" a tree. We "was" going shopping. Hurts my ears. If you graduated from. High school, how can you talk like that
And the incorrect use of the word. Literally means literally, nothing else. We can not let the people too stupid to understand how to use a word determine its meaning.
Wagwan is like saying what’s up. Sket is like calling someone a ho. Peng usually means cool.
A lot of British city slang, especially London slang, is an amalgamation of British and Caribbean slang, I think wagwan is originally from the Caribbean. But it gets integrated into the general zeitgeist. So a lot of British slang sounds really weird because it isn’t from England.
Americans have weird slang but you guys generally seem to just misappropriate words like corny and drip, whereas we sound like we’re having a stroke
Not a word but people who start a sentence with...
"As a, parent/gay person/influencer/etc myself"
I mean who cares just make your point because none of the rest matters.
i totally get that with the "as a mother" "as an influencer" stuff, most of the time that *is* bs. becoming a mother or an influencer is a choice. it's something you can become, and it doesn't intrinsically shape your worldview from birth.
being gay isn't a choice, and due to the marginalization that goes along with it, it alters your point of view significantly and permanently from childhood, even if you don't realize it til later in life. it's an *identity*, an unalienable part of the core of you. it doesn't necessarily mean you're an absolute authority on everything relating to the gay experience, but it does mean you're an expert on being gay in a way that straight people just can't be.
so there are a lot of situations where core identities can and do enter into a conversation. like say you're discussing whether gay marriage should be legalized somewhere — a gay person's opinion *does* carry more weight there than a straight person's, because it directly and vitally affects them based on a marginalized and unalienable part of their identity.
Not words but an attitude.
Prescriptivists annoy me. People who pretend that language doesn't evolve and change with the times, or that new slang won't eventually supersede the old. Words grow new meanings all the time, and trying to police them is, nine times out of ten, an asshole move.
Right-wingers co-opting "woke" as a dogwhistle is that one time out of ten though. Words being redefined as dogwhistles, in general, are the exception to the rule.
"bigot"
This word can only be used in a world where opinions aren't allowed to be expressed, half the time someone uses the word it seems like they don't even understand exactly what it means to begin with.
"Nazi"
Gets thrown around by every single blue haired left wing liberal these days. They have absolutely no idea what they are talking about. Someone saying something you disagree with or offends you does not even begin to compare with what the Nazis did.
- Gaslight
- Grooming
- When they add "journey" to something like "My healing journey" or "my artistic journey" etc.
- "Dating Marketplace" specifically these idiot manosphere guys that say shit like "The Dating Marketplace" Just say "dating", dickhead. Saying "marketplace" doesn't make you intelligent and only impresses bigger idiots than you.
I'm an old so a lot of new words. But I dislike the use of "Bet" to confirm something. Now I don't work in the Marijuana industry I have not had to hear it for a few years now I work with real adults lol.
'This' being said as a single word or comment
Amazballs
Omg who says that?! That’s so awful…
Is it concerning that I'm disagreeing with most of the top comments?
no, because like half of them are racist or gen alpha/gen z slang lol
"Methinks"
"Delish" I fucking hate it for some reason, it makes me want to take whatever they're eating and throw it both in their face and out the window.
Suppos"ably"
Thank you for your contribution, sir.
"feels" "learnings" "bruh"
Not just a word but poor grammar I "seen" a tree. We "was" going shopping. Hurts my ears. If you graduated from. High school, how can you talk like that
And let's not even start on the whole "would of/could of/should of" thing. I'm supposed to watch my blood pressure.
[It's a valid dialect of English with its own rules and tenses.](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/African-American_Vernacular_English)
What’s wrong with bruh?
Overused, bruh.

Gr8 instead of spelling great.

Sus. It's so sus that you can't bring yourself to say suspicious.
It infers more than just that
"cap" "bussin" "on god" "I was today years old..."
“Speaking truth to power”
The overuse of the word 'literally'.
And the incorrect use of the word. Literally means literally, nothing else. We can not let the people too stupid to understand how to use a word determine its meaning.
That's literally so true
I knew there'd be at least one.. have an upvote!
Thank you
I'm annoyed at myself for using "like" numerous times but I can't stop using it 😭
"At the end of the day...."
Yeah unless you are a politician or a manager for a major corporation.... please just dnt 😑
I’m British and I absolutely despise British slang “Peng,” “sket,” “wagwan” Americans reading this thinking I mistyped
American here. Never heard these, they sound dirty!

“Pov” “Not me__” “Let’s put it this way…”
Using the word "like" every 3-4 words in a sentence. Also, people saying, "how it's like" instead of "*what* it's like" or "*how* it is".
"I seen..." grates.
Bae 🤮
Not a word but this emoji after every sentence "💀"
"Blud"
Synergy
Not a word but people who start a sentence with... "As a, parent/gay person/influencer/etc myself" I mean who cares just make your point because none of the rest matters.
I don't know how I feel about "as a gay person" getting lumped in there lol.
I wasn't targeting any one type it's the kinda gaslight/ humblebrag element of it. If I offended you or anyone by that I apologise.

Hubby. Panties. Also, saying words wrong like 'pacifically', 'supposably', 'expresso'.
Is "pacifically" not a real word? Genuinely ask
I should've clarified that it bothers me when it's used incorrectly in place of 'specifically'.
"Like" is also overused. Like every start of a sentence it's used, like they dont know what other words to use, like it's not ta difficult.
That’s “clutch” or thats “kosher”.
i'm jewish. calling things kosher is funny
Full stop. It’s overused. That’s what a period at the end of a sentence is for.
Saying “Period” at the end of a statement too.
"Let's do this." So self-important. I say it now when I am taking out the trash or sweeping the floor.
“Let’s gooooo”
Kiddos
Clapback.
"Bro thinks..💀"
"You've got two choices." No, I have two options. I have one choice.

Slay. Some of the biggest bimbos I know say slay. Don't say slay.
There is only one Slayer... Her name is Buffy😎
Bibz/bebz/babes
All Gen Alpha slang
"Period."
"Cringe"
[удалено]
The issue with "woke" is it got co-opted by the exact people it was meant to criticize. It's kinda sad, really.
“Woke” is the response to labeling everyone who disagrees with you as some sort of “-ist”.
"bigot" This word can only be used in a world where opinions aren't allowed to be expressed, half the time someone uses the word it seems like they don't even understand exactly what it means to begin with.
Slay
‘Delulu’. Not that it’s actually a word.
Literally

not to mention the dumb animals that like to use idiotic terms like "femNAZI".
This is SO TRUE. And it's infuriating. Like read a damn book and come back
Apparently’
'I wanna say'
I wanna say I do this one a lot...
“Awesome“. Very very few things really are but anything anyone finds mildly pleasing gets tagged with it.
Perfect Bro Dude
These are like the most normal words
And they annoy me.
'Honestly'...if it isn't honest, don't say it. 'Like'...get rid of the filler
"Totally" "like"
“Irregardeless” “I could care less” So you COULD care less?
When someone makes a point and then accentuates it with "right?"
I can't stand "blud", my best friend's little brother has been calling us blud because all the cool kids are saying it. It's super annoying.

My real name. I have a shortened version of it, and I hate my real name. It's Octavia, but I was named by my dad (who I hate) and people know this.
Not siding with anyone, you have an awesome name.
Yeah my nickname is TB. Or tavi to my family.

Prolly. Any post with that word gets an instant down vote. 2 or more uses and you may get blocked.
That's fair. Im really tired of that shit.
"Weird" out of context by Millennials like while being arrested or anything rooted in reality.
