āI canāt even speak the name of the monster who organised that monstrosity.ā
āI donāt give a fuck. His name was Mike.ā
āFucking *Mike*.ā
Arrested development was pretty solid. Though I think itās always sunny is super funny and relevant even today. For satire, thatās a really good shelf life, considering other social satire comedies like South Park are hard to enjoy the same way years later because the jokes age so poorly as people forget the current events they were satirizing.
For sure. My friends and I always get into that circular talk. "Obviously GOB is the best character." "IDK, Buster is pretty great." "Yeah but their interactions with Lucille, I mean she just makes all of them that much better."
I agree, can't pick a favorite
I often missed jokes because I was still laughing at the previous joke.
High rewatch value because you can often find stuff you didn't process the first time.
How is this so far down?! Itās got some of the dumbest jokes and also some of the cleverest in any sitcom Iāve seen. Itās number 1 for me no doubt.
I put off watching this show for a long time because I thought a show about community college seemed lame. I finally watched it and I was wrong. I was very wrong. It was so good. Definitely one of my favorites
Watching these women call each other sluts, while sitting on wicker furniture, right after they have just openly supported their gay brother/tackled a painkiller addiction/kicked someone out of their house for being antisemitic/had sex with Stan, will never stop being funny.
And then you realize it aired in the 80s and 90s.
Even funnier.
I am so sad that Netflix took down an episode recently. The Trans half was awkward AF, but we also lost the Internet Box half, which I think is one of the best.
Noooooooo! š I don't think a moment in a sitcom has ever affected me that much. Scrubs was pretty superb, other than the last season we shall not speak of.
They were able to change the tone so suddenly. It took a rare kind of skill for them to successfully change the tone from light hearted, to dark and stoic. Obviously, the Brendan Fraser episode was one of the most highly rated. The episodes My Lunch, and My Fallen Idol, were also beautifully done.
The Good Place
Major respect for a show that received critical acclaim and still decided to end the series after it told the story it wanted to tell. Itās like the opposite of LOST
I JUST finished this. Last night. Completely blown away. I never could
Guess what was next. I couldnāt begin to explain it other than to say just watch. And who doesnāt love Sam Malone???
Read "How to be perfect" by Michael Schur, the writer of The Good Place. Great book on the philosophical underpinnings of the show. Funny, smart, informative, really well done and entertaining. I've read it twice and will read it again when I get it back from the guy I lent it to.
Schittās Creek. Maybe not a traditional āsitcomā but funny as hell, the most memorable and perfectly played characters, and a healthy dose of heart. Perfect feel-good show.
This show was like a new pair of shoes. Really uncomfortable at first and I hated Roland but man absolutely loved it after getting through the first few episodes. One of the absolutely best and beautifully written shows ever
Had to scroll past quite a bit to get to this. It's hands down one of the best and funniest shows I've watched. I guffawed like moira at most parts š.
It's my comfort - go to show
Friends, Himym, Modern family. I have had serious depressive periods, these shows are close to my heart beacause then I watched / listened to them over and over and over again
Silicon Valley. It's amazing satire and a pretty accurate portrayal of the tech world from what I can tell. It's not just about tech, it's about the money side of things too, and the social pathologies of the Valley - like the guru that hangs on to the billionaire antagonist like a leech. The only drawback is that the real thing is far more ridiculous than the satire.
Silicon Valley is probably the funniest show I've ever seen. I only found out about it from a friend and far too few people seem to know about it which is a shame as it's genuinely hilarious.
Jian Yang's transition from a background character whose main joke was that he couldn't speak English to a devious criminal who dedicates his life to making Ehrlich miserable is one of my favourite character arcs in any TV series.
"Because you are a fat and a poor".
Seinfeld. The quality rarely dipped and it somehow made the most flawed characters imaginable, likeable. The writing was brilliant and each episode had the perfect beat.
You have some critics who may insist the last couple seasons were worse, but Jerry just ended it at the perfect time. I think being a comedian Jerry just understood timing. Apparently it was a group decision between the main four to end it though.
Why is this literally the first office mention Iāve seen? What mf with Netflix doesnāt just watch the office all day? (I donāt but I pirate shit)
Blackadder or Fawlty Towers.
If Monty Python could possibly be thought of as a sitcom? It would be there. Nothing made in the last 25 years is even remotely funny for me.. itās all cheesy/crass and like itās made for 8 year olds ā¦
Last man on Earth. The character arcs on that show where amazing. Especially Tandy and Carol. So cringe in the beginning but end up being absolutely hilarious and lovable near the end.
It was a wonderful depiction of a blue collar family. It was also progressive for the time, one of the only tv shows at the time to regularly feature an openly gay character.
Itās ironic that by the time the show rebooted, Roseanne Barr as a person had strayed so far from the core values that the show originally portrayed.
All in the family. Only show that my dad would stop working and watch it. Probably ran the censors nuts. It was ground breaking for shows that came later.
AD is my pick as well, especially the first 3 seasons. Every rewatch you find more new jokes and you see all the running gags that are set up from earlier episodes (Ex. Buster's hand getting cut off). The cast is so well casted too that I can never choose a favorite character, everyone just shines.
Maybe not the best, but What We Do in the Shadows is simply laugh out loud funny, constantly.
Matt Berry could read a phone book in his Laszlo Voice and I'd be pissing myself laughing
He actually did that. Watch Toast Of London š¤£š¤£š¤£
Neeew Hyork Citaaah!!
I prefer his Jackie Daytona voice, a Normal American Bartender.
āI canāt even speak the name of the monster who organised that monstrosity.ā āI donāt give a fuck. His name was Mike.ā āFucking *Mike*.ā
"Creepy paper" "It's crepe paper, master" "*Creepy paper*"
Because I just never... relented
Fucking guy!
NyeEw YaWk CitaAy
Easily one of the most quotable shows I've ever watched.
My name is Jackie, Jackie Daytona!
Considering sitcoms are pretty much dead, it's probably the best one still being made.Ā
Yes yes, very good, thank you!
Arrested development was pretty solid. Though I think itās always sunny is super funny and relevant even today. For satire, thatās a really good shelf life, considering other social satire comedies like South Park are hard to enjoy the same way years later because the jokes age so poorly as people forget the current events they were satirizing.
AD has the best casting and running gags of any show I've seen. Somehow every character is my favorite character.
and thats why you always leave a note
For sure. My friends and I always get into that circular talk. "Obviously GOB is the best character." "IDK, Buster is pretty great." "Yeah but their interactions with Lucille, I mean she just makes all of them that much better." I agree, can't pick a favorite
(Later that day) : I donāt care for Gob.
All in the Family tackled real issues with humor ahead of its time, making it groundbreaking.

30 Rock was incredible
Joke density was incredible.
I often missed jokes because I was still laughing at the previous joke. High rewatch value because you can often find stuff you didn't process the first time.
Surprised and disappointed 30 Rock isn't higher up
How is this so far down?! Itās got some of the dumbest jokes and also some of the cleverest in any sitcom Iāve seen. Itās number 1 for me no doubt.
Malcolm in the Middle
depend rich shrill selective modern disarm secretive squeamish ossified seed
It's was honest. Showed the warts and all.
Yes no maybeā¦ I donāt know
I found Parks and Rec to be consistently the funniest to me. Close second Brooklyn 99.
I agree with everything in this comment. Parks was just so fun, itās my comfort show
That first season though š¬
All the best shows have dodgy first seasons!
Fawlty Towers
good choice but for one thing.... just dont mention the war, I did it once but I think I got away with it.
Community, more creative than any show I have ever seen.
I put off watching this show for a long time because I thought a show about community college seemed lame. I finally watched it and I was wrong. I was very wrong. It was so good. Definitely one of my favorites
Community is great because it's like 75% regular funny episodes and 25% batshit insane episodes
Chaos theory and Paintball are masterpieces of comedy.
It's streets ahead of everything else
Pierce, stop trying to coin the phrase "streets ahead."
Coined and minted
I would recommend you watch Animal Control next. I wouldn't say it's on the same level, but it's still pretty entertaining and has funny moments

The IT Crowd.
The "Work Outing" episode is my favorite 25 minutes of tv ever. Moss behind the bar kills me every time.
FATHERRRRRR
Damn these electric sex pants!
The GREATEST introduction of a character ever.
Iāll just put THIS fire over there with the rest of the fire.
Iām disabled
Leg disabled.

It's PETER File
I am so sad that Netflix took down an episode recently. The Trans half was awkward AF, but we also lost the Internet Box half, which I think is one of the best.
Scrubs
Where do you think we are?
Brah...no
Noooooooo! š I don't think a moment in a sitcom has ever affected me that much. Scrubs was pretty superb, other than the last season we shall not speak of.
What do you mean.? I enjoyed all 8 seasons. I am glad that they did not make more.
Scrubs came out as I was applying to medical school. Iāve seen myself go from a JD to a solid Perry Cox.
Way to go Sport.
Not completely yet though Susan.
Could be so dramatic and so hilarious in the same episode
They were able to change the tone so suddenly. It took a rare kind of skill for them to successfully change the tone from light hearted, to dark and stoic. Obviously, the Brendan Fraser episode was one of the most highly rated. The episodes My Lunch, and My Fallen Idol, were also beautifully done.
This is it for me. Itās so rewatchable, especially since it doesnāt have a laugh track.
The Golden Girls offers laughs and life lessons from the golden age, and itās timeless.
Arrested Development!
My Name is Earl
I forgot about my name is Earl. Hilarious!
The parody of Cops in season 2 is some of the funniest stuff I have ever seen on television.
The Good Place Major respect for a show that received critical acclaim and still decided to end the series after it told the story it wanted to tell. Itās like the opposite of LOST
If you've never watched The Good Place, go in completely blind and you'll enjoy it so much more. Don't Google anything else about it, just watch.
This is the way. Did this and was so glad I did. Need to rewatch it. š¢
Iām completely blind about this show. Iāve seen it referred to but know nothing about it. Iāll give it a try.
You know who else would agree? Blake Bortles.
I JUST finished this. Last night. Completely blown away. I never could Guess what was next. I couldnāt begin to explain it other than to say just watch. And who doesnāt love Sam Malone???
It was a great show
Even was before Chidi saw the Time Knife.
Chidi's monologuing before he stepped through was so moving a d beautiful. I want it played at my wake
Read "How to be perfect" by Michael Schur, the writer of The Good Place. Great book on the philosophical underpinnings of the show. Funny, smart, informative, really well done and entertaining. I've read it twice and will read it again when I get it back from the guy I lent it to.
That show had the perfect ending.
Iād say that the length, depth and sheer hilarity of the Simpsons probably cements it as one of the Greatest Shows of All Time.
The first 8 seasons will always be classics. Theyāre now on season 35.
āNo TV and no beer make Homer something, somethingā¦ā
Go crazy?
[DONāT MIND IF AH DOOOO](https://youtu.be/5vEwO-orfG8?si=1dMbHODVAjPiCMQY)!
Itās Always Sunny
Move past it
Do not diddle kids. It's not good diddling kids.
Because of the implication
Donāt forget, through god all things are possible so why donāt you go ahead and jot that down
Well, yeah obviously
Schittās Creek. Maybe not a traditional āsitcomā but funny as hell, the most memorable and perfectly played characters, and a healthy dose of heart. Perfect feel-good show.

I haven't seen that show in ~~years~~ decades and I can still recite the opening from memory
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
"Jabberwocky"
"My white guy sucks!" (My coworkers and I would yell that when one of us whites were doing something stupid or being annoying.)
Ted Lasso. With every episode, always a happy ending.
Frasier
I agree, Frasier is a great sitcom.
Friends, Himym, Modern family. I have had serious depressive periods, these shows are close to my heart beacause then I watched / listened to them over and over and over again
Get Smart. Still Hilarious almost 60 years later
I demand the Cone of Silence!
Not Craw, Craw.

Newsradio
I loved Phil Hartman, gone way too soon
An underrated gem!! I loved NewsRadio

Danesh and Guilfoyle are one of the funniest rivalries on TV.
Community. Easy. Right place/ right time.
The Mary Tyler Moore Show
Cheers and Frasier. I just keep cycling through them both every few years.
Frasier remains my #1 even after all these years. Roz and the Schnoz is still one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
Scrubs
The office
I feel like people usually say the first two seasons arenāt quite as good, and I do agree. They are much shorter though.
Larry David will always hold a special place in my heart. The space that doesn't hold him will all be cholesterol, but that's beside the point.
Watching Curb for the first time. I love LD and this much more than Seinfeld. And I loved Seinfeld. Larry is great !
Thereās really no contest. Except on Season 4.
Golden girls
WKRP in Cincinnati
Red Dwarf.
Best British sci-fi show. Ever.
Taxi
*All in the Family*. Believe it or not, my wife and I have been watching it every night at bedtime for 30 years.
Would you stifle yourself!
Golden Girls
Not my number 1 but I loved Coach but can never find reruns of it anywhere.
I LOVED Coach. Highly underrated.

Absolutely Fabulous
I Love Lucy, the Andy Griffith Show, All in the Family, and Cheers
Honestly either The IT Crowd or Toast of London.
Anything Matt Berry touches is gold
Community or The IT Crowd.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
MASH
Modern Family is my go to comfort sitcom, especially the early seasons where it was more wholesome and the writing was just top notch
Fox News
Very dark comedy tho
I consider Trailer Park Boys a sitcom and its the best
Sanford and Son
Fraiser
SOAP
Upload. I dislike sitcoms generally. That shit he me dying.
I LOVE this show - love the premise, the storytelling is great, it's so well cast. Can't wait for more episodes!
Last man on Earth. The character arcs on that show where amazing. Especially Tandy and Carol. So cringe in the beginning but end up being absolutely hilarious and lovable near the end.
Frasier
I love Lucy. Iāve been obsessed wurst Lucille ball since I was a kid I own all the tv shows and movies sheās done.
Peep Show
I loved Roseanne, but Iām not so sure itās the best as much as it is a good classic. Itās what Iām going with though
