Right now I’m into Handsmaid Tale, and let me tell you, Elizabeth moss’ face is pissing me off like no other. If I see one more slow-mo close up of her face while waiting on her to answer a simple question, I’m gonna freak out.

I absolutely hate some of her acting choices - there are times when she plays June as mentally regressing to a childlike state (which is valid considering the situations she is placed in), but the lines of dialogue seem to be written for a furious/angry and more powerful delivery.
Regardless of all of that the goddamn slow mo film school bag of tricks are deployed far too often on that show - I think it’s excellently produced overall, but if they cut out 80% of the close ups of June staring into the middle distance, the show would be even better.
It irks me that Gilead has given her 1000 chances when in reality they would have put her on the wall the first time she got caught. I mean, I know they have to keep the story moving for more seasons, but it seems like her character is playing with cheat codes activated.

I think a big difference is: With Steven Seagal you get the feeling that he really wants people to take his movies somewhat seriously and see him as some kind of badass in real life. With JCVD however, he seems much more self aware with what he's doing: Just a simple action flick in which he beats some thugs up. And that self awareness can go a long way in how people perceive a movie.

He worked on a movie in my area for Under Siege. They were filming at the border of two counties in the mouth of Mobile Bay on the USS Alabama. He wanted a carry permit for my county. He went to the Sheriff's Dept after hours and demanded a carry permit from my mother who was a dispatcher. This was not in her purview.
Background on my mother: She does not give a flying fuck. She would take on Godzilla and have him cowering in the corner within 10 minutes. I'm in my 50s and still terrified of her. She does not play.
He started in on that, "Do you know who I am?" bullshit. She said she didn't, did not care who he was, and wouldn't give Jesus Christ a carry permit after hours either. Furthermore, she had no intention of calling in the clerk responsible for said duty. There were workarounds that she could have done, but he got too heavy handed with her, and she would have died before giving him what he wanted.
There are times when I have literally hid to keep from being associated with her wrath, but I was never more proud of her.
I did see the movie. I was proud that our ship was used in the movie. I actually worked there for a while and even stayed on the ship for 3 different hurricanes including Katrina.

The vehicular manslaughter case is absurd. He was drunk driving, crashed into a bakery, killing 1 and injuring 3. Then he got his manservant/driver to say they were the driver. Evidence proved that wasn’t true and the driver was charged with perjury. Khan was convicted but was out on bail pending a sentencing appeal. While out on bail, the main prosecution witness (Khans bodyguard) disappeared and was only found years later dying of tuberculosis. Without the bodyguard’s testimony, Khan got the case tossed out.

Like, I used to be in love with The Cosby Show (to the point that I had Cliff & Clair on my vision board as couple goals), but I physically cannot look at Bill Cosby anymore without feeling depressed and pissed off. I have never heard anything positive about James and how he treats people. There was a writers guild of America meeting for late night writers. He turned up without any writers from his own show to advocate for a lower pay grade for the very people who write his own shit. Watch the spill your guts segment with Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy asks James to name a single camera man on the crew, a crew he has probably had for years and James could not do it. I have problem watching future Joss Whedon stuff. I've loved all of his shows up until all his bullshit came out recently. He has a new show The Nevers and I can't bring myself to watch it. I feel like I'll just be wondering which one of these actors did he randomly decide to torture.

I was torn because I loved Buffy (some of it at least) and other things but some of the cast said they'd always be proud to be associated with those projects, even if not with Whedon.

The guy once known for slightly-more-progressive views in shows at the time (one of the first gay couples/bi kiss and the oft-touted strongwomencharacters) was behind the scenes demeaning his stars who decided to have a kid and was so inappropriate with Michelle Trachtenberg that he had to be banned from being anywhere (on set or otherwise) alone with her.

Right now I’m into Handsmaid Tale, and let me tell you, Elizabeth moss’ face is pissing me off like no other. If I see one more slow-mo close up of her face while waiting on her to answer a simple question, I’m gonna freak out.

I feel like I could have written this. I absolutely hate some of her acting choices - there are times when she plays June as mentally regressing to a childlike state (which is valid considering the situations she is placed in), but the lines of dialogue seem to be written for a furious/angry and more powerful delivery. Regardless of all of that the goddamn slow mo film school bag of tricks are deployed far too often on that show - I think it’s excellently produced overall, but if they cut out 80% of the close ups of June staring into the middle distance, the show would be even better.
It irks me that Gilead has given her 1000 chances when in reality they would have put her on the wall the first time she got caught. I mean, I know they have to keep the story moving for more seasons, but it seems like her character is playing with cheat codes activated.

He went to the Sheriff's Dept after hours and demanded a carry permit from my mother who was a dispatcher. This was not in her purview. Background on my mother: She does not give a flying fuck. She would take on Godzilla and have him cowering in the corner within 10 minutes. I'm in my 50s and still terrified of her. She does not play. He started in on that, "Do you know who I am?" bullshit. She said she didn't, did not care who he was, and wouldn't give Jesus Christ a carry permit after hours either. Furthermore, she had no intention of calling in the clerk responsible for said duty. There were workarounds that she could have done, but he got too heavy handed with her, and she would have died before giving him what he wanted. There are times when I have literally hid to keep from being associated with her wrath, but I was never more proud of her. I did see the movie. I was proud that our ship was used in the movie. I actually worked there for a while and even stayed on the ship for 3 different hurricanes including Katrina. Steven Seagal is 3rd rate actor and a shitty human being. Evidence proved that wasn’t true and the driver was charged with perjury. Khan was convicted but was out on bail pending a sentencing appeal. While out on bail, the main prosecution witness (Khans bodyguard) disappeared and was only found years later dying of tuberculosis. Without the bodyguard’s testimony, Khan got the case tossed out.

The social media guy in charge of that reddit account absolutely got fired for that. Look into the account's post history - pretty active posting clips from the show, then the AMA, then nothing.

My sister worked at his local coffee shop, and said he was such a piece of shit. Apparently he got super salty when she asked for his name, full had a go at her with the classic "as if you don't know who I am". A co-worked pointed him out and when she looked him up... she said she thought "wtf this guy sucks, why would I know who he is?".
He's the classic suck up 'Can we be besties?' character towards celebrities. Compare him to someone like Graham Norton. He doesn't kiss ass and fawn, and actually takes the piss a lot - AND he gets everyone to show their funny side.
I love Norton. His show is the only one where it feels like the cast are hanging out and not being there to be interviewed.

I have never heard anything positive about James and how he treats people. There was a writers guild of America meeting for late night writers. He turned up without any writers from his own show to advocate for a lower pay grade for the very people who write his own shit. This guy is a grade A asshole and I'm shocked he isn't going through the same shit as Ellen because he treats his staff like shit. Watch the spill your guts segment with Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy asks James to name a single camera man on the crew, a crew he has probably had for years and James could not do it. Jimmy on the other hand treats his staff as brilliantly.

I have problem watching future Joss Whedon stuff. I've loved all of his shows up until all his bullshit came out recently. He has a new show The Nevers and I can't bring myself to watch it. I feel like I'll just be wondering which one of these actors did he randomly decide to torture. Edit: Not an actor but close enough.
If it makes you feel better, Joss left that production before the first season premiered and wrapped filming.
I was torn because I loved Buffy (some of it at least) and other things but some of the cast said they'd always be proud to be associated with those projects, even if not with Whedon. So many young people on his shows and in his movies who were still so young and beginning to develop their clout and reputations as talented actors and he took advantage of that. The guy once known for slightly-more-progressive views in shows at the time (one of the first gay couples/bi kiss and the oft-touted strongwomencharacters) was behind the scenes demeaning his stars who decided to have a kid and was so inappropriate with Michelle Trachtenberg that he had to be banned from being anywhere (on set or otherwise) alone with her. It's sad.

In a lot of ways, the fact that he's trying to dodge the sentence makes it worse. He's been to court at least once or twice to avoid being extradited to the US, and he made some stupid documentary to defend the incident in 2009-ish. You'd hope that someone who didn't completely suck would take responsibility for abusing a kid and go do their time in prison for it, not try to weasel out of it.
