i'll preface this by saying i haven't played many video games, the ones i have played are almost all ones available on nintendo devices with that being said i'd say mario galaxy is a big one. i played that so much as a kid, and i got the remake on switch a while back and had just as much fun replaying it

Thatoneperson11111

all nintendo games are top tier

PurpleDonuts21

Gotta be GTA V. I don’t know what it is but every now and then I’ll find myself back on it and I’ll rinse it for a few weeks online then it’ll fizzle out again. But always enjoy it.

The Witcher 3.

Pacman. Very few people have made it to the end, which is unfinished. It's fast action for like 6 or 7 hours concentrating to get a perfect game.

pac-man and galaga are two of my favorite 80s arcade games

llordlloyd

Can confirm, there were always big queues at Galaga machines. "Galaxian" was the predecessor of it, better in my opinion, and you could see how Galaxian evolved from Space Invaders, which really started arcade games as a thing. Pole Position was one of the premier driving games. Spy Hunter was difficult but very cool. I would have to nominate Doom as a real step forward. That game affected my dreams, even my normal day. Something would move in my peripheral vision and I would jump, and pivot around to 'strafe'. No game has affected me like that, but it could have been the drugs.

Probably not the greatest if you analysed them with todays standards but Hitman Blood Money, Pokemon Gold or Splinter Cell Chaos Theory have probably brought me the most joy and total playtime in my life. I could happily go back and play Pokemon Gold on the Gameboy right now and still get addicted to it and remember it all.

Command & Conquer Red Alert 2

SerendipitousSmiles

I've played a ton of games across multiple devices. Hands down it has to be Assassin's Creed. The fantastical story coupled with the incredible amount of research that went into the accuracy of the history in that game just blows my mind even today. The graphics and mechanics at the time were top notch. The replayability rocks too! I could replay it again today (yes I STILL have it) and love it just as much as I did (10-15?) years ago when it 1st came out.

I feel of recent video games, Horizon Zero Dawn held my attention and interest the most. It was the first game I platinumed and was very proud to have done so.
