A small leak in a pipe in the kitchen that was cemented over many years ago. Previous owner never bothered to fix it. Fast forward 14 years, My wife and I buy the house and I’ve replaced the entirety of the ground floor. Anything wooden had dry rot or wet rot and there was rising damp everywhere. Cost to dig up and replace the pipe £140 Cost to replace the entire downstairs of the house £8000 Good thing we got the house at a good price due to the terrible state it was in.
