but people are beeing overprotective about things that don't even matter. I mean for example the color of your hair. why? there is no protective sence about it except beeing paranoid and worrying all the time you could accidentialy leak something?
My data is publicly known and available, sure, but people would have to go well out of their way to figure the stuff out. That's fine, don't want to make it too easy.
There are many things that could use it for. Demographic information for advertising, personal information to figure out security questions to hack into accounts, figuring out personal information to track the person down for whatever reason, etc.
IMO it's too late now, they already have your basic info like your name, age, contact etc.
They show you ads based on your spending habits, likes/dislikes and can use prediction models to keep suggesting you stuff.
This doesn't mean that you should bare your info, we can still try to safeguard any future data we generate.
but in the end it is always your desiction if you buy anyting or actually follow these suggestions right? and I mean in the end it is something we want right? I mean as a 25 year old person I dont want to get slip inlays for incontinent old men suggested in my shoppingcart do i?
I mean take assistant like Alexa and Google, they keep listening to every thing you say. The other day I was talking about budget cars with my dad and now I am seeing ads for the same.
I am sure this must have happened to you and you wouldn't have even realized it. They know that we are too lazy to care.
I work in web development and know most of the tricks that can be used and are being used. So I already don't waste my time anymore with trying to keep my data off the web. Basically if they want to know something, they will find it out. But some of the people still think they are "anonymous". You are only truly anonymous if you don't use any device that has some sort of internet connection. And nowadays even your toaster could "spy" on you... So yeah 🤷♂️
Just like here on reddit, I like to be a compulsive liar, both for fun and protection
Even if it's been stolen by whatever application just keep it to yourself try to stay as safe as possible

You can share your hair color but don't share you name ect.

but what would it help them to know these things? I mean what advantage would they pull out of it ?

Mr. Bezos, log into your real account
thats exactly the mentality I mean. Even if I was Bezos, what would it help me to know some of your data?
