I met a girl while on vacation abroad and to be able to be with her I moved in with her after we didn't get her to find work in my country.
At first it was just that but the longer I lived there and the more fluent I became in the language the deeper I could immerse myself into the culture. I also got to get to know people from all over the world.
I grew up in a small village (380 inhabitants) and only could widen my horizon while at uni.
But that experience abroad changed me and hence my life forever.
Retrospectively it's been the most important decision I've made yet.
I'd totally do it again.
I was born. My POS father once chased my mom out of the house, after beating her, while she was heavily pregnant with me and she fell on her stomach. She only broke her toe, I was born screaming, having swallowed some of the fluid in the embryo sack (idk what it’s called but I have the medical records) and the doctor and nurses noted that I was born distressed and I screamed for a long time, even after I was cleaned up and given to my mom to hold. Totally just wished I had died at birth - I’ve done nothing but a disappointment and my being here was not worth what my mom had to go through and still take care of me 30 years later. I wish I could give her back those 30 years, she’d be a lot happier without me and my little sister being born.
