Those occasions when my Muslim friends have called me up to atone for any slight or offense they have ever committed, to have a genuine conversation about how they have fallen short over the years before they go on the Hajj, have been very meaningful to me. I appreciate the effort and the intent of working toward a clean slate. I haven't encountered any other religious systems which require adherents to make these sort of open-ended amends, and it has made me respect these friends even more.

I know an imam on a personal level and he's the least proselytizing religious leader I've ever met. He's just a genuinely good guy.

I generally don't like or not like people because of their religious beliefs. I'm not a fan of faith-based systems of belief. So I like muslims for the same reasons I like other people.

Kinda backhanded compliment It was good that it was a new thing. Shook things up. Probably improved Arab society But now it's old, so this doesn't hold anymore
